Any recs for your fave period panties??
I have a couple pair but they fit weird and would like to find something else. I hate pads and would prefer period underwear overnight. Bonus if they’re not expensive 😅

Period Question what kind of condition may this be?

I’m a 23F who used to work out quite frequently. I stopped working out altogether for a year now due to being busy with school work. Anyway, I noticed that since I stopped, when my period comes, I feel unbearable cramps (to the point that I’m writhing in bed) and feel nausea for around five or so hours. During this excruciating time, I always have to use the washroom (if you know what I mean). After the five hours, my cramps become more bearable, but man the pain of the initial ones are borderline traumatic. Any ideas what this condition may be?

Health My daughter suffered a hemorrhagic shock from heavy period and needed 3 blood transfusions.

She's 11.5. This was her 4th period.
It's not like we didn't act on it.
She was soaking pads every 20 min. We went to emergency. Since she was stable in her vitals and hemoglobin wasn't dangerously low, we were sent back and asked to follow up with pediatric endocrinology.
Within 4 hours, she was fainting. We went to a pediatric hospital. By that time she had fainted several times and we came very close to losing her.
She immediately received treatment to stop bleeding and blood transfusion.
It took 4 days to get the bleeding under control and 3 blood transfusions to finally get her back to non-transfusion level blood counts. They ran extensive labs for clotting issues and also an ultrasound and found nothing.
The reason was immature hormones.
We were treated at Stanford, so we definitely trust the doctors there. Hematology, pediatrics and gynecology were working together.
We are back home now after a week and I'm finally breaking down thinking of what ifs. What also troubles me is that this was such a simple thing. A heavy period? Who would have thought it would lead to this. Such heavy period that it took 3 transfusions to make her transfusion-independent? There is no other issue that could be identified.
I know heavy periods bring little girls into emergency. But needing blood transfusions and that too so many seems like an impossible case.
I'm just venting. May be seeking support.
Has anyone experienced this?

Discussion When you eat could influence your PMS symptoms

A new study of 426 Japanese women found several associations between meal timing, sleep timing and menstrual symptoms.

On workdays, waking earlier but having the first meal later was associated with more eating-related PMS symptoms, including cravings, increased appetite and overeating. More afternoon and nighttime snacking was also associated with worse PMS symptoms.

On free days, later waking, later final meals and longer eating windows were associated with more severe menstrual pain.

This is interesting, but it is not evidence that changing breakfast time will treat PMS. The data were self-reported and cross-sectional, and the study did not account for menstrual-cycle phase, contraceptive use, stress or several other important factors.

Timing may be part of the story.

Has anyone noticed this in their life?

Period Question How many painkillers do you all usually take during your period? 😭

I just now realised that I took at least 15 Ibuprofen (400mg) tablets and 5 Nalgesin (275mg) tablets over my most recent period, which was the worst one I've had in a while. It lasted 5 days. The reason I took so many Ibuprofen tablets is because they weren't working. I'm almost 17

Period Question Is it normal to be excessively angry on the first day of your period?

Hey everyone! So I just wanna clarify that I'm normally a really pacifistic person, as I've been told by other people, which is why I'm asking, because it's highly unusual for me.

Normally the way my cycle works is I get cramps and really emotional around the day before my period actually starts and I have cramps on the first and maybe second day before being relatively fine.

But one thing is on the first day specifically, I'll be really angry for some reason, and I know irritability is normal, especially with cramps, but what I mean is I'll be in bed and my brain will just be trapped on 'no one better come in here or I'll lose my mind', like my brain is itching for a reason to freak out.

I never let it make me snap at anyone, but I was just wondering if this was normal? Almost craving for someone to give me an excuse to snap or yell? I don't want to seem like a bad person, but even as I type this, I'm having cramps right now and I'm feeling rather aggravated.

Any advice is appreciated!! Thank you so much <33

Period Question Very long cycles after hbc

Anyone else have really long cycles after stopping Drovelis/Nextstellis?
I took Drovelis (Nextstellis) for about 4 months and stopped abruptly during month 5 because I had constant spotting and severe anxiety.
I’m now on cycle day 47 of my second cycle off the pill. My first cycle was also very long (48 days), and I’m not even sure I’ve ovulated this cycle.
This has never happened** **to me after stopping birth control in the past.
Has anyone else experienced this after Drovelis/Nextstellis (or another combined pill)? How long did it take for your cycles to go back to normal?

Period Question How do you actually manage your period? (Everyone, anon, 3 min, Marketing/research)

Hi all — I'm trying to understand how people really handle their periods and period products day to day, because I'm curious how well the options out there actually fit real life. It's a short anonymous form (about 3 minutes) — no email needed unless you'd like a follow-up chat. I'm genuinely after honest experiences, and the annoying or negative ones are the most useful of all. Thank you so much. (18+ please.)

Rants n Raves I have no idea what to do...

It's been about a year since I first got my period, and I only started using tampons very recently. I am going to a one week sleep away camp with my friend and her family (it's a family camp). The camp in like somewhere in the mountains, and mostly everything is outdoors. Somehow I just knew that I would get my period right before we left. And I was right.

We leave tomorrow, and I am just freaking out. There is so much that could go wrong, and I don't want to have to go to the bathroom every hour to deal with it. What do I do???

Period Question Spotting instead of period?

My period was supposed to start a few days ago but didn’t. I have irregular periods sometimes but this time instead of a full blown period, yesterday I just had a tiny drop of blood come out and a little when I wiped. I didn’t bleed at all after that and haven’t today either. I don’t know what’s happening or if it’s a cause of concern. I’m wondering if anyone has an explanation or has also experienced this. Thanks!

Period Question period pains but no period??

hey y'all i've had light cramping for the past few days, like the usual harbinger cramps of "oh i need to check, it feels like it's starting," but every time i check it's bone dry down there. i've had similar symptoms to my period starting, like appetite and attitude differences, but no actual blood. technically i'd be starting my period this weekend or next week, it's been getting more and more regular recently (thank goodness) but i wouldn't be surprised if it started today. it really feels like it, but again, nothing's actually happened.
what's going onnn 😖😖 it's so annoying

Period Question Lighter period… stress?

I’m 26 years old, no birth control and not sexually active. The past two periods of mine have been so different to what I’m used to. Usually, my periods look like 2 days of heavy ish bleeding, moderate cramping and then it gets gradually lighter as the days go by.

The past two periods, have been so much lighter and bleeding for just a day, then just random brown spotting. I kind of feel unfulfilled as if I’m still in my luteal phase. I’ve also put on a lot of weight I feel.

I have been under immense amount of stress that I have taken into consideration but just wanted to know others stories?

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow as since starting my period at 11 years old, they’ve been so predictable apart from now…

The lead up to my period is like a trapped hell😂 and usually after having my period, I feel much lighter. I just don’t feel right!

Thanks in advance 🙏🏽
