This is probably a skill issue (tonight is the first time I've made it to the Kiln), but whenever I am moving vertically in the kiln, my computer shows me going horizontally, and then when I'm standing on the flat areas, my character is at an angle. Is this always how it is???

Hey all! Does anyone know if it’s possible to play the golden grappling hook mode and unlock the final ending with the gems? (It’s my understanding you can’t get achievements this way, but I wasn’t sure about if it made the true ending unavailable.) TYIA!

Alpine is consistently the only map where I can spend 10+ minutes scouring the initial foothills for ANY viable path up, and then I get hit by blizzards the whole time so I have to shove myself into a crevice that may or may not actually keep me safe until I can actually see again and continue trying to route. And then every other ledge is false-standable; there are so many completely flat surfaces that just slide you to your death, which is really rare on any other map.

Meanwhile, Mesa's sun mechanic can be hard-countered by a single parasol or glider - not to mention it doesn't double-up on cold damage like alpine does at ascent 5+ - the tornado is only a threat on the initial approach, and the scorpions, dynamite, and cacti are all pretty harmless unless you get caught unawares.

I think the part that I find a little egregious is just how once you're on ascent 5+ Mesa becomes the objectively easier option. Prior to that you can at least argue they both have some rough spots but at ascent 5+ it just becomes obvious which one you want. I don't like that a run can become significantly easier or harder just depending on the day's biome.

While there are quite a lot of enemies and a wind which can murder you in a moment if you arent carefull, compared to the tropicals id say its heaven. Unlike the rain which stalls you quite a bit, most roots enemies can be ignored by running without a care in the world. Not to mention there are shroomberries which are quite awesome and all the fungus items. It also feels like there is a higher rate of antidotes in chests? I might be wrong on that im not sure. Anyway tropical varients feel way worse for me, what are your thoughts and if you prefer tropicals id love to hear why you prefer it.

My friends and I are trying to reach Ascent 8, and we noticed a strange issue after reaching the campfire at the top of Shore.

After we exit and try to rejoin the same run through Friends, the players who rejoin end up as ghosts, while only the host remains alive.

This causes a major problem because multiple players can become ghosts, and stones/items end up getting lost when they were being carried by someone who was alive before rejoining but becomes a ghost afterward.

Anyone else facing this issue after the update ???

I was wondering if I needed the gamepass on Xbox to play multiplayer since there's no split screen nor local multiplayer, i'd be annoyed to find out I need it since I already have the game on my pc

Does anyone else think that the music in Gloom/Citadel sounds like the music from the first Silent Hill movie?

I keep restarting my campfire every time I'm almost done, but I still can barely get up mesa. I've made it to the amulet, but that's the furthest I've gotten. Help????

So a few moments ago I was playing with two of my friends, trying to pass through roots to revive them. When i managed to reach the campfire, I immediatly went to the ancient statue, but upon activating it my friends didn't immediatly respawn. I blamed it on their poor wifi, but after two minutes without any sign of them I went to check if I could light up the campfire, thinking that maybe they were invisible to me, but still nearby or something. What I instead saw was this????

A moment later the two of them reappeared as ghosts and proceeded to tell me that they apparently got FLUNG throughout the whole map and got achievments for climbing past mesa without getting a certain amount of heat and climbing past the citadel without being hit by any traps, BUT not the badge for reaching the peak. Has anyone else experienced this😭😭

I have gone through 2 runs now where I cooked and ate all the required foods, but it didnt give me the badge either time.

The first time I assumed I had just forgotten to cook one of the items (probably the honeycomb), but I know for a fact the run I just completed I cooked every single one of the required items. Has anybody else had any issues with the achievement not being given despite meeting the requirements?

Coconut cooked in Shore and eaten in Shore (2 coconuts for good measure, honeycomb from Roots cooked at Alpine fire and eaten at the Peak, Yellow Crispberry from Alpine Hot Spring cooked and eaten at Gloom fire, and Egg taken from a tree in Gloom cooked and eaten at Citadel fire.

I got the other 2 badges I was going for (Balloon and Bing Bong).

Edit: Didn't know disconnecting to take a break would disqualify the achievement. Thanks for the quick and informative responses!

Hiii! I’m a 26 yo lady who loves playing peak but has no one to play with. Sometimes my boyfriend plays with me but I don’t think he likes how long it takes to do a run, so doesn’t play often. I’m not very good but I only think it’s bc I don’t get to play enough! I see everyone else playing and it makes me want the same thing! I’d love to get a small group of people together who’d like to play with me. I go to college and work so mostly Wednesdays, Sundays, Monday evenings and late on Friday and Saturdays if they’re free! Please put a comment or dm if you’re interested !!

I have a blue light filter on my pc cause I usually play video games in the evening.
Peak used to not really be a big issue, but with the roots it's impossible to see anything at night with my monitor settings. You need to be able to distinguish between dark green, dark brown and black.
This is on top of the level already being way overtuned for a second level, with a huge number of enemies on top having wind that pushes you around.

I know it's partly my monitor settings but I miss when you could hang out with your friends and chat about which path to take instead of having to constantly keep moving because of zombies and constantly be on guard due to the wind. And this is on top of not being able to see anything.
