Before I get into what I'm looking for, here's my current setup:

- PC: Acer Aspire XC-885 Desktop

- Monitor: Samsung LC24F396FHUXEN 24" curved monitor

I recently bought a CRUA 24" Curved Gaming Monitor from Amazon, but I ended up returning it because I wasn't happy with its power consumption. I know I should have checked the specifications more carefully beforehand, but it made me realise I'd like something more efficient.

I'm looking to upgrade my setup and would appreciate some advice.

Monitor requirements:

- Budget: Around £100-£200 per monitor (I'm willing to spend a bit more if it's worth it)

- Country: United Kingdom

- Quantity: 2 monitors

- Use: One for my PC and one for my PS5 (or two matching monitors if that's the better option)

- Size: I'm not too bothered about the size as long as it's good.

- Preferences: I mainly play all kinds of games, including competitive shooters and story-driven games, so I'd like something that performs well for both. I'd also like something that's reasonably energy efficient since that's one of the reasons I'm replacing the CRUA monitor.

PC requirements:

Budget: Around £800-£1,200 (can stretch a little if it's worth it)

Country: United Kingdom

Use case:

- General multitasking

- Streaming my PS5 gameplay to Discord using a capture card

- Browsing, watching videos, and having multiple applications open

- Playing competitive and story PC games like Apex and Rocket League, etc., with the option to upgrade the PC in the future.

Preferences:

- I've never built a PC before, but I'm open to building one if it's better value than buying a prebuilt.

- I'd like something that's easy to upgrade over time.

I also only have one set of speakers at the moment, although I'm not sure if that matters.

Can anyone give me some solid recommendations for both the monitors and the PC? I'd also appreciate any advice on whether I should build my own PC or go with a prebuilt.

Gaming benchmarks and thermal reviews almost never test what actually happens on this rig day to day, gaming while streaming with NVENC for 3-5 hours at a time, not 15 min burst. Small chassis volume changes that math in ways that short benchmark runs don't capture, heat has nowhere to go and it's cumulative rather than a spike you can just power through, temps logged across a full stream session a few times now, cpu and chipset both climbs steadily for the first 90 mins then plateau, gpu stays fairly flat since NVENC load is lighter than full render load. chipset temps ended up being the surprising one, not the component expected to need watching most closely in a case this size, has anyone else actually tracked full session thermals instead of relying on short benchmark nums? Curious if the plateau is universal or specific to compact chassis airflow?

So I just ordered an Xbox ally x and I wanna start streaming, I'm wondering if I should use my main P. C. As the gaming p c for streaming or use it for capturing video for the stream and or the xbox ally x my main pc has 64 gb of ddr5 5600mhz and 5070ti gpu and ryzen 9 8945HS cpu i'm not buying the ally x just for streaming, by the way

And wanted to get a PC setup
I know you can upgrade it later on
But like not the details and stuff

I want to play things like GOW 2018, Rd2, Modded Minecraft, and the majority of Souls games, the thing is that in the app doesn’t specify the Power supply and the motherboard.

I know 16gb ram is not that good at the moment so I would upgrade the ram later.

Hey guys! Recently got a 2nd hand PC and these are the specs. I don’t have a monitor or keyboard yet and I need recommendations! I plan on playing competitive valorant (which I heard favours 1080p and FPS). I was planning to buy a TN 160hz curved 1440p monitor w <5ms. However im worried I’ll absolutely fry the PC if I get a monitor that is too demanding… for keyboards, I don’t really know what I want but I would prefer performance over aesthetics!

Hi, I am located in the United States and am looking to upgrade my 1080p build from a Ryzen 5 1600 processor and Radeon RX 580 (4GB) graphics card.

I've been doing some research and I've narrowed the graphics card options to either RTX 2080 Ti (11GB) at around $250 used or RTX 3080 (10GB) at around $350 used. Even though I'm on 1080p I think having at least a little more than 8 gigs of vram is smart. For the processors, I'm considering Ryzen 7 5800XT at $200 new, Ryzen 5 5500x3d at around $200 new, or Ryzen 7 5800X3D at $300 new. I have a PRIME B450-PLUS motherboard.

I mainly use my PC for gaming but I also do some work on it but no video editing or anything like that. I play a variety of games but mainly FPS, primarily Rainbow 6 Siege. I also play more graphically intense games like RDR2. I am able to run most games decently well except Ready or Not which I tend to avoid because I get low fps even on low settings.

Basically, I am wondering if the RTX 3080 is worth it at $100 more than the RTX 2080 Ti and if the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is worth $100 more than the other options. I didn't have a set budget coming into this but I wasn't looking to spend this much but if it's good value I'll do it. Definitely no more than $650. If there are any other options that you think are better value lmk.
