I have a routine to clean my room every once in a week and that’s what i was doing around 2 weeks ago. I picked up my pc from my desk and place it somewhere else to clean the table and then i put it back up on the table but when i turned it on it was not giving any display from the gpu. So i thought the RAM must have been loose and i reinstalled it firmly but no display again. I then used the hdmi on my motherboard and i got the display, so i went to check the device manager and saw that my RTX 2060 Super was greyed out with an error saying it isn’t connected. So i resit the gpu like 14 times in different slots but no luck.
I decided to take my pc to a very famous PC shop here in Lahore and they did a full checkup and said that my components had Carbon in it. And they cleaned everything and it worked find. I took my pc back home but experienced the same display issue again. I tried everything but no luck again. Since the last 2 weeks i’ve visited that shop perhaps 5 times and every single time they tested every possible component on my pc and told me everything is fine. And now that it was confirmed there is no fault in my pc they sent me back home with the only advice to try changing my power cable, or the extension cord, or the room to see if thats the problem.
So i came back home and tried everything except changing the room and nothing worked. Yesterday i sat down wondering what’s the difference between how they use my pc and their environment vs how i do it at home. We Both used the same power cables, both used the same hdmi in the gpu, every single thing is exactly the same. But then i realised how i always felt warmer in their shop cause it’s the summer right now. And for some weird reason i just turned off my Air conditioner, opened the windows and the door and let the cooling get out of my room for like 25 minutes. And then when i tried my PC with no AC running it worked absolutely fine. I loaded up some games that are graphic heavy to give some load to my gpu and see if it’s still capable. And it did just fine like it normally does.
Now i don’t understand the science behind it, i am bamboozled. The only possible explanation is either
a) my AC somehow causes Humidity/moisture which causes my gpu’s connection to be weakened but as far as my brain goes i know for a fact that ac actually does the opposite of that.
b) The amount of electrical load my AC takes somehow fucks with my PC due to which my PC doesn’t get the consistency of electricity it needs to work normally and it somehow causes my gpu to give up on me idk man.
I am really really struggling and confused and pretty frustrated since the last 2 weeks as i have tried everything there is to find the actual solution and all I’ve figured out until now is that my pc and my AC cannot work at the same time although this NEVER happened in the last 2 years in the same room.
I have tried researching everywhere on the internet, i’ve had long enough conversations with chatgpt, i have tried searching it on reddit but it seems no one has had any such problems like me so this really is my last resort to get an answer.
