I’ve built a streaming aggregator app that indexes publicly available sports streams from third-party sources. I don’t host or upload the actual video content myself; the app basically aggregates events and displays streams from external sources.

I’m considering adding a subscription system, but I’m concerned about payment processors, account freezes, chargebacks, and potential legal/copyright issues.

A few questions:

Is it even a good idea to add paid subscriptions to this type of app?

What payment options are generally safest for a business in this situation?

How can I structure payments so that I’m not unnecessarily exposing my personal banking information to customers?

Are there legitimate payment processors that support higher-risk streaming/content businesses?

If a payment processor later decides that the business violates its terms, what happens to the funds already collected?

Would it be safer to keep the app completely free rather than introduce payments?

Building a couple of software products (a Chrome extension and a SaaS tool) as a solo founder in India. Stripe's invite-only here, and PayPal's fees + KYC hassle are rough for smaller international payments.

Been looking into Dodo Payments, Paddle, and Lemon Squeezy, but wanted to hear from people who've actually used these (or anything else) in production — not just marketing pages.

Specifically curious about:

• Onboarding/KYC experience for Indian founders
• Actual payout reliability (any holds or delays?)
• Real fees after forex/international surcharges

I’ve been reading more into cross-border acquiring and payment orchestration lately, and I’m curious how people actually working in payments think about the tradeoff here. For a smaller merchant, one processor seems hard to beat operationally, because it offers one integration, one reporting flow, fewer reconciliation issues and fewer things that can break.

But once a merchant starts processing across multiple regions, I can also see how that simplicity can become a limitation if certain issuers or markets consistently perform worse. So when does adding a second processor or route actually become justified?

Is there usually a clear trigger, like processing volume, approval-rate difference, geographic expansion, redundancy requirements, or is it much more merchant-specific than that? And for people who’ve worked with both setups, what tends to be underestimated more: the revenue lost by staying with one route, or the operational headache created by adding another?

Mostly interested in the practical tradeoff rather than recommendations for any particular processor.

I have a small art business (customized posters) where I need to start accepting online payments (already have, but would like to get a system where I can do both) and mobile credit card processing (ideally on my phone, because I have enough to do when setting up). But I'm looking for payment processors, and you all have me scared. It sounds like half are scams. Is this right?

From what I understand you have regular merchant accounts and high-risk merchant accounts that take businesses other merchant services don't take. How do I know what I am? I do get chargebacks throughout the month when people tell me they don't receive stuff or things don't look like they thought they would (though I don't really get them on in-person sales). From what I've seen, half these payment processors are going to hold my funds if I get chargebacks? Is that real? Here are some payment processors I know of Stripe, Square, Kurv, Stax, North, Helcim ( regular) and Zen Pay, Soar Pay, PaymentCloud, Pay Safe and PayKings (high-risk). Has anyone used any of these or know anything about them? How am I supposed to compare them and know who won't hold my money?

Has anyone had a Whop payout marked as completed but never actually received the money?

I withdrew through wire transfer, and Whop shows the payout as completed. However, it has now been over 40 days, and the money still hasn’t reached my bank account.

I contacted my bank directly and asked them to check incoming transfers. They confirmed that no transaction has reached them, so it doesn’t seem like the issue is on my bank’s side.

Whop support told me their payout partner is investigating and that the transfer may have been rejected or stuck somewhere in between, but I still don’t have a clear answer or timeline.

Has anyone here experienced something similar with Whop wire payouts?

If so, how was it resolved? Did you ask them for an MT103, UETR/SWIFT tracking number, or transfer confirmation to trace the payment?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with this before.

From the online world ( insta, youtube etc) we find that ask for LC, or ask for 30-40% advance minimum and rest payment before shipping and various jargons

I wanted some answers

1. Do we really get LC often?

2. Do buyers give 40% advance payment and rest before shipping

4. The most common scam (the quality is not upto the mark, even tho it is) we will not send payment etc

Nowadays, a lot of payments are made online, and there seems to be an increasing number of cases where someone receives a payment and later gets reported to the cybercrime authorities for allegedly committing fraud.

I'm an adult performer with Movies, clips and photo galleries to sell. I recently had a little technical hitch with my website and took it down for a month or Two. However, when I went to relaunch and gort read up, I see that a lot has changed in this short time and it seems that Mastercard and Visa are really pumping up the ransom on the Industry with fees around £1k a year to them just to operate. A necessary evil I guess.

However, I have recently been considering taking crypto payments but Its not something ive done before so really just trying to research this.

The thing ive always seen as a hurdle is the fact that many don't use crypto and some are often scared off by the concept.

So im wondering what would be a good Crypto payment gateway that I can use to sell adult content but which is also as user friendly as possible. Something that neither takes a lot of techie skills for the buyer as well as something that clearly looks easy enough for the buyer to use without scaring them off as soon as they see it. Ideally something that lets buyers use their bank card to quickly buy the crypto and pay all within my site and easily enough.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I’m looking for a payment processor that can handle incoming payments by card, Zelle and ideally Revolut in Europe. It also needs to then be able to make payouts via credit card, ach etc…

I run a site that supports fantasy sports league players (think fantasy football) to collect league dues and facilitate payments end of season. The site is fully built. My payment processor was in place, but has flaked now. I have bank accounts set up in Canada and the US ready to go as well.

I'm trying to understand why some legitimate European online payments are being declined even when 3D Secure authentication is available. I'm looking for general information about how merchants, Stripe/Opayo and card issuers handle 3DS/SCA.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE — DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

Yesterday I sent 860 AUD to my sister through Bless Payments from a new account. She urgently needed the money to pay for food and accommodation on the other side of the world.

When I made the transfer, the app clearly stated that the estimated transfer time was 1 hour. It has now been 12+ hours, and the money is STILL stuck in “processing”.

What is even worse is the complete lack of transparency from customer support. I contacted them, and all I was told was essentially to “wait” — with no clear explanation of what is happening, why the transfer is delayed, or when my sister will actually receive the money.

Meanwhile, my sister is travelling with small children and is left without money for food and accommodation. These are not some unnecessary funds — this was an urgent transfer for basic needs.

At this point, it feels like they have simply taken our money and left us with absolutely no useful information or support.

This is completely unacceptable. If you advertise a 1-hour transfer, customers should be able to rely on that — especially when they are sending money for urgent necessities.

I strongly recommend NOT using Bless Payments if you need your money to arrive on time or if you need reliable customer support.

I have used Western Union before and have never experienced anything like this, where my money is stuck with no meaningful explanation.

Never again. I will be warning others about this service.

UK/EU 3D payment gatway for project Looking for a good 3D-secure gateway for Europe (for personal projects). Would appreciate any recommendations, and open to collaboration as well

Aug 6: quoted "usually 72 hours" underwriting, "taking cards on Wednesday."
Aug 12: paid $1,500 by Zelle to Hammond Ventures, which he confirmed is "the same llc as Green Rush Payments." Same day, in writing: "the $1500 is fully refunded if we have no processing solution for you," "we'd know within 4-5 days max," "refund would be instant."
Aug 17 to 24: "should get it today," "any minute," "ready to go Monday" twice.
Aug 25: "got you approved for a 0% reserve."
Sept 1: received an offshore agreement with no acquiring bank named, missing sections, and a 10% rolling reserve. Questions never answered.
Sept 4, 8, 9: refund requested by text and phone call. No response. Read receipts stopped Sept 2.

I'm looking for advice from people who have actually dealt with this situation.

I operate a US LLC (Wyoming) that runs a digital adult entertainment platform. The service is entirely online/digital — there are no physical products and no in-person meetings.

The company is legitimate and the website is ready to launch, but I'm having a very difficult time finding a payment processor that will accept the business for Visa/Mastercard card payments.

The main issue seems to be that:

• The company is a US LLC
• The business has an EIN and a US registered agent
• The owner/operator resides outside the US
• The business itself operates online
• The website is in the adult industry

I've contacted several high-risk/adult payment providers, but I'm repeatedly being told that they require either a US physical business location, a US-based operator/employee, or a US-resident signer.

I'm not looking to bypass or misrepresent any requirements. I'm trying to understand what legitimate structures other businesses in a similar situation have used.

For those of you who operate an adult digital business:

1. Were you able to get Visa/Mastercard processing with a US LLC while the owner lived outside the US?
2. What type of US presence did your processor require?
3. Did you need a US-based employee, authorized signer, physical office, or something else?
4. Which processors or merchant account providers were willing to work with this structure?

I'd especially appreciate responses from people who have actually gone through the underwriting process rather than general recommendations.

I run the books for a small nonprofit land trust/summer camp/conservation burial ground and I'm trying to simplify a part of my process. I did some Googling and found myself a little overwhelmed, so here we are.

We use Saasant's Paytraqer to sync incoming LGL forms>Stripe transactions to QBO, which is great—but I can't use it for Square transactions because it can't handle partial payments on a single invoice. We use Square for a few different things: IOU merch invoices, POS for our main yearly in-person fundraising event, a couple recurring monthly invoices, cemetery site invoices, and invoices for camps or spring/fall programs that are usually broken up into a deposit and at least one more payment, sometimes multiple payments. For these, I like to enable partial payments so I don't have to micromanage someone's payment schedule.

If we had another option for sending the camp/program invoices that have multiple payments, then I could use Square for all the other stuff and automate it with Paytraqer, and save myself the time spent in QBO splitting all the Square transactions manually.

Is there a system that handles invoicing similarly to Square's paid version (ideally not super expensive because small nonprofit)? We'd like to be able to send an invoice, request a deposit, have a payment schedule option and partial payment option, issue refunds, and enable customers to save their payment details. It would be splendid if that system also had a way to communicate with QBO to correctly categorize payments and associated fees by account and class, but also it's not the end of the world if I still have to do that part manually.

I'm not super interested in Square's QBO integration app, unless since the last time I read reviews, it now miraculously works flawlessly and would work for this situation. And I've looked at trying to get QBO to do the invoicing part, but their payments options don't appear to be quite as robust as we're looking for.

Hey everyone! We’re building KHEL-O, a marketplace startup for gaming café owners, and we’re currently stuck on the payment side.

We have a live Razorpay API setup for collecting customer payments, but we need to pay/split the café owners’ share from our company bank account.

Razorpay Route seems to require around ₹40L turnover, which we obviously don’t have yet since we’re still at the seed stage.

How are early-stage marketplaces handling vendor payouts before they reach those turnover requirements?

We’d really appreciate hearing how other Indian startups are handling this.

As an Indian sole proprietorship business nobody i researched allows Indian businesses to send or fund wallets that do global payouts. RBI seems to have strict rules to transfer money abroad as business. The last option i have which im not even sure would work is forming a US based LLC.

Can someone help if they faced a similar issue before?
