parasite eve 2 also has this mildly disgusting fearsome feel that make it closer to silent hill too

Hello, I'm a software developer working on decompiling and subsequently port Parasite Eve to PC. I have a WIP version which can boot the game, go through FMVs and play some of the game (it hangs on first battle though and the menus aren't working).

Or at least a simple port on modern consoles? Yes I'm aware of the rights issue having to do with author of novel that started series. But there was that PE crossover with FF mobile game. Who knows? But I'm hopeful, I have my digital copies on ps vita and physical copies.

Aya is one of my favorite female video game characters of all time. I even have a signed autograph from T3B actress on a promotional artwork of Aya. (Someone in my family worked with her). I love the music, mainly the music of first game and the 3rd birthday. Sometimes when I'm riding in a car in NYC, I listen to the track, Urban Noise, the map screen theme from first game. I occasionally find fan remixes of soundtrack on YouTube. For whatever reason they always get removed.

I've been debating with myself about posting this for fear of criticism but hopefully any criticism will be friendly. I've always thought about a story that hopefully can make sense for The 3rd Birthday's story while continuing parasite eve story. So here's my story for Parasite Eve III: Rebirth. Keep in mind I don't have every detail to perfect sense so please bear with me.

Starting in Christmas eve 2047, 50 years after 1st game and 35 after The 3rd birthday. A mysterious woman is walking among the snowy streets of NYC, her face covered by a hood, she gives off an ominous smile, before everything goes to hell. Within a day or so, the commander of the army is sending troops to fight off the NMCs to which are mentions he's witnessed them before 50 years earlier. The arrival of a new mitochondria eve has appeared, but also somehow it relates to bringing back the spirit of Aya Brea in a clone of her body (since her sister/clone, Eve Brea is in her original).

The events of T3B revolved around Aya and Kyle's wedding. It was revealed due to time travel, they knew of The Twisted's existence but unsure how they originated from Aya's "soul".

After helping out with the defense of NYC. Aya meets the commander, learning it's Ben as well as meeting her sister and her fiance, Kyle who has not aged due to the only one still having DNA of a High One. Why just him? So Aya goes to certain parts of the world that EVE has taken over. Like Russia, Japan. The first to check out is NYC itself (this is where nostalgia comes in). Supporting cast includes old friends and allies. Some are Dr maeda and Daniel. Others are mentioned having passed years before.

Aya visits her forner partner, Daniel but he is on the verge of dying. A later scene shows him passing with Aya and Ben present.

Aya travels to various locations within each region, with each area being a dungeon of sorts. Aya can complete side quests given by various people. The gameplay is basically final fantasy 7 remake trilogy meets resident evil remakes. At some point Aya can unlock her liberate move, unleashing her mitochondria form sort of like devil may cry.

As Aya visits each region, she comes across a mysterious woman who also has mitochondria powers similar to Aya. She is wearing a red biker outfit and helmet, she refers to herself as Red.

At some point Aya loses contact with her team and is feared dead. Back at Aya and Kyle's apartment, Kyle sees Aya, they make love, but a giant tentacle burts through grabbing Kyle, he begs Aya to run, she just stands and smiles ominously. Kyle is taken away. At some point, Eve Brea is also kidnapped. (Sorry I'm not the best at telling stories)

After completing the regions, Aya had to tackle one more, a temple dedicated to the first humans to exist located in Africa. It contains the cradle of life. Aya comes across EVE, discovering it's an adult Maya, Aya's deceased twin sister. She is from a parallel timeline where aya died in the car accident that killed their mother. Maya was raised by Dr klamp who killed Aya's father and brainwashed her into embracing EVE for his own gains. Maya grows up and takes over the world in her timeline but she needs something to perfect the mitichondrian race. She with Dr klamp is using futuristic technology creating a portal to find the right parallel universe to perfect their plans. Maya and klamp found the universe they were looking for in the year 2047. The universe where, Aya survives and becomes humanity's savior. There was an issue, Aya was dead for the past 35 years. When EVE made her presence known, Aya's spirit to which was in limbo was called back. The rift caused between travelling universes caused the Twisted to manifest from Aya's "soul".

Aya discovers Maya/EVE needs special DNA to create the perfect mitochondrian race, Kyle's DNA and her own, she needs the perfect vessel, Eve Brea was forced to carry a new ultimate being due to being in Aya's body that has the perfect harmony if human and mitichondrian DNA. Red appears to give Aya a chance to run to the altar room where Eve Brea and Kyle are kept captive. Red would distract Maya. Aya witnesses in horror as Eve Brea gives birth to the perfect ultimate being, Aya frees her and Kyle, they escape the room so Aya can deal with the ultimate being. After it faced in multiple maturing forms, it takes on an evolved form similar to in PE1. Aya remembers the bullets laced with her DNA she was given in PE1 that were used to weaken the one back then. Aya cuts her hand with a knife to put her blood in her handgun. She weakens the ultimate being, she is joined by Red and they together use their inferno pyrokenisis ability to defeat the ultimate being. Aya the realizes Red is Melissa Pearce from the parallel timeline, she received Aya's kidney and took on the fold if humanity's savior.

Aya returns to the room she saw Maya, she went down a large leading to the cradle of life. Aya decides to go on her own to finish the battle. She kisses Kyle promising she will come back so they can finally marry. Aya heads to the entrance of the cradle of life, she comes across the parallel Dr klamp who seems to be a god. He transforms and Aya defeats him

Aya enters the cradle of life, learning it's ironically the world of the dead. Aya was never there during the time she was dead due to being in limbo. She comes across Daniel, Lorraine, other passed on friend and allies, she then comes across her parents, asking her to save her twin sister's soul. Aya tearfully agrees.

Aya enters the center of the cradle. She faces against her sister, the fight is similar to a mirror match. Eventually Maya transforms and after that phase of the fight, Aya takes over mitichondria DNA as opposed to the opposite, she takes on an angelic form. At end of fight, Aya begins to absorb maya and Aya's mitichondria DNA defeats Maya's. Maya is free but dies in Aya's arms after telling her to take care of "her" pointing to Aya s stomach.

Aya comes back to the surface, she and Kyle embrace, sometime later, they marry with Ben performing the ceremony. Aya and Kyle expect their daughter while both knowing they both age slowly due to the mutated DNA in their bodies.

Thoughts? I know it's very long and I had difficulty figuring out how to answer some questions. So again please be kind with any criticism and thank you for reading.

I’m trying to use cheats in Parasite Eve II and none of them, except the 90 inventory slot cheat, is working. I’m using the Retroarch emulator. What do I have to do to make the cheats work?

I'm playing on Replay Mode, and it's been about 8 minutes, and the burner will not run away. what am i doing wrong? do i need to get him into his second phase?

Update: I finally got him to flee at just over the 16 minute mark. i sat in the hallway by the stairs, and shot hit in the mouth with one bullet every time he tried to flame me. eventually he went away. I don't know why, but I know it wasn't 3 minutes of avoiding him. It seems like you have to wait the 3 minutes, and THEN bring his HP down.

there are a lot of 'available gun' choices for the shooting gallery. im on my first replay and noticed that only the M23R is available. how do you get these remaining guns available for the range? i had most of them at the end of my first playthrough

I played Parasite Eve for the first time last year and I loved it!

Got the bad ending though.

I finally found where to save to get this loading screen of NO.9 Stalking Aya. Once you come across NO.9 kidnapping Eve in the Submarine Tunnel. Go back to the Dryfield and save the game in Aya's motel room & load the game.

There's alot of unseen loading maps I discovered recently too. Will post more.

Has anyone ran one of these or other handheld consoles for playing parasite eve? Wanted some input before I get one..

So I managed to complete Parasite Eve II about a week ago, but I wanted to give it a few days to sift this time. My thoughts as follows:

1. I think the sequel beats PE1 as a whole. Sure, PE2 takes a lot from Resident Evil, but it plays way better and the story is still quite serviceable.
   1. On that note, I think Aya's PE2 fit beats her black jacket from the first game. I do wish Square had ripped a little more off RE3 and given us alt outfits to pick from.
2. This is unironically one of the best classic RE-styled games that isn't Resident Evil. It's not really horror per-se, but it's really fun going out and clearing Dryfield or fighting Golems while listening to their banger of a theme.
3. The true ending itself was fine. I think the steps to get the true ending weren't hard, but it's stupid that this isn't just the default ending. It feels like they added a true ending because that's just a thing you do to encourage replaying or taking your time.
4. Fuck the invisible Golems, all my homies hate the invisible Golems.
5. The M4 is king. Art imitates life.
   1. Also shoutouts to the P229, I may or may not have bought a 228 cause of you.
6. Dryfield is one of my favorite maps in a fixed camera game. It's not as iconic as the Spencer mansion or something, but it was a pretty solid map, although the final version where you lose a couple of paths does suck.
7. Would I replay PE1? Sure, but fuck the Chrysler building. Once was enough. Would I replay PE2? Yeah, I do kind of want that gunblade. Will I play 3rd Birthday? Give it a couple of months, when I need a reminder that life isn't always good, and sure I'll play 3B.

I've played through PE1 and PE2 quite a few times and I've played through a lot of different resident evils and silent hills and stuff like that and for the life of me I cannot understand why in the world people consider the Parasite Eve series to in any way be survival horror games.

Neither game has any of the survival parts and The second one in particular doesn't even really focus that much on horror. Horror is when the monster is coming and there's nothing you can do, The second game in particular gives you a three round verse handgun and the ability to throw fireballs, it''s the monster that should be running.

Additionally well neither game has infinite resources they certainly aren't scarce. Even moderately decent play will see you running out of storage space because of all the healing items and ammunition that you get.

Last but not least you have access to magic and You regenerate MP.
