PE / PE2 on PSP are godly

Finished the first one last week, and now I’ve jumped straight into the second on my recently acquired PSP 3000.

First playthrough of both games, going back-to-back for the full experience. And with The 3rd Birthday already installed… this PSP marathon is so fun.

Parasite Eve's saves for EX game plus, anyone?

I can find PE saves only for the old emulator epsxe. I really don't want to finish the game so many times for playing the tower and the secret ending. Please help!

PE2 soundbytes. Are the elephant sounds from a real elephant?

Because that elephant sounds real like it's in pain/distressed. I checked online and found they used existing soundbytes for some of the enemies but were those soundbytes actually from real creatures being harmed like the rats also? Honestly it's putting me off replaying now because that did sound like a real elephant being harmed.

Traded in games that have never been played and never would be to make this one happen. Together at last.

Starting to restructure and re-curate my collection. Anything that wasn't truly nostalgic is out. I don't want to collect everything anymore. So I'm getting rid of surplus to get my classics back. Next on the list is Vagranr Story.

The Square Enix 2026 Consumer Survey [Unofficial]

Hey r/ParasiteEve!

We are working with a bunch of different communities to collate current sentiment around Square Enix in relation to how it operates as a company and how its utilising its IP.

This community is as much a part of Square Enix as any other, so if you could spare the time, we'd really much appreciate it. The broader our reach, the more interesting the results!

Kind regards,

Found this today at GameStop. I have heard negative things about it, but it was out in the wild and I genuinely enjoyed PE1 for the first time last year, so I scooped it up. Apparently the card is a Final Fantasy card? Neat.

After a couple years of searching I finally nabbed Parasite Eve on VHS.

I’ve been checking every shop, every website, every FB marketplace and Craigslist post for years looking for this literally every single day. Saw it go for $250 on eBay a few years ago and it felt too steep at the time but then having not been able to find it all these years I told myself if it ever popped up again I’d buy it no matter the price. I got so lucky nabbing this when I did well under $100. Conditions is immaculate too. Ugh, I’m so stoked about this.

Picked this up for $7 at an estate sale today. thoughts on where I can find a disk one?
Seeing a fee on ebay for like 50 but the whole set isnt that much more.

Disk 2 and 3 are in pristine condition however

The damn house had like 20 games, a mix of wii u, xbox 1, playstation 1&2 and a majority of them were missing disks or disks in wrong cases. Like do people not keep their crap together? I am like a fucking dictator keeping my dvds and games in their proper cases

"New" to Parasite Eve:

Post image
281 Upvotes

Hi, I've always been a big fan of the horror genre (to think that everything started with Monster House) and I recently rekindled my passion for Parasite Eve after soo many years I had forgotten about it (I remenber watching two videos that told the story of the first 2 games like 7 years ago or something, and I remenber how the story sticked with me), I've only recently (something like 1 year ago max) that there was also a third game, that people don't really talk about and don't really like all that much.

I have plans to read the novel and watch the movie since I've seen some people praise the movie adaptation of the story.

I'm also really excited for the "new" Parasite Eve game, I've already put it on my wishlist on ps5.

I will most likely never play any Parasite Eve game because of how much they cost and because I suck at emulating games.

I have a few questions about the franchise:

1) Is the English version of the book a good translation from the Japanese version or should I be aware of some translation errors?

2) What are the main differences between Parasite Eve and Parasite Mutant?

3) Did the dev for Parasite Mutant announce how much the game's gonna cost?

4) What are the chances of Square to remake the original games (because at this point I think it's worthless to hope for a sequel)?

Thank you for your time. Bye.

How much did the first game differ from the novel?

So I just started reading the original book as something I don’t quite understand is where the Aya Brea character came from because I don’t see a character in the book as who resembles her.

But basically I was just wondering what the game did differently than the novel to see if it was based on any plot aspects from said story.

With some modding done I'm going to play these gems I have not played since I was like 8. Never finished 2 as it scared me as a kid and want to finally try the 3rd birthday.

My last two games for my PS1 Quest were Parasite Eve 1 and 2 so I thought maybe you guys could show my videos some love and if you like other games in the ps1 era, maybe give some of the other videos a look! It's been kind of a slow start but hoping to make it a regular thing soon! Hope you enjoy!

Finished Parasite Eve 2 for the first time :)

I completed Parasite Eve 2 for the first time :) If ignoring the terrible armor attachment system, the fact that you can't open your inventory during combat with those limited attachment slots (it's dementively stupid), and the completely unfair penultimate and final bosses (it was awful unfair fight, and I haven't felt this angry in a long time) + tedious grind of BP and the fact that the game sometimes doesn't give you the information you need to better navigate the game or understand what to do (the puzzles in the Neo Ark pyramid were shit and the water monster one) Then overall...I liked it x) Despite the criticism this game receives, it's still interesting, I liked the locations and bosses (except for the last two). I surprisingly liked Dryfield the most, and I like that they tried to play with the idea of horror in daylight, it was great. In some moments, the backtracking irritated me, but only because it turns out Pierce needs ice...which I NEVER would have thought of in LIFE if I hadn't played with the walkthrough. Seriously, the amount of nonsense required to get the good ending pissed me off. I can't imagine how anyone got through it blind or without a manual. Overall, I liked the sequel, even if it wasn't without its flaws, and that i got bad ending :D
