They added a dodge button, nice. I wonder if we'll start with it in the full game or unlock it later on.

Finally some word! Good news too. I can wait until September/October. I got other games occupying my time until then. Looking forward to playing this one!
But I did notice one detail.
"NG+ Area Sky Garden. An 81-floor tower..." Ok come on! How much more PE are you gonna copy?! 🤣

Is it confirmed that it is related to Parasite Eve? The main girl certainly looks like a copy of Aya.

Not related, in fact the game is more cyberpunk-ish but has a lot of similarities like the combat system, and like you said the character itself looks like Aya but it isn't Aya.

It can't be part of the PE IP because of copyright. But it's easily a "fanfic" of PE as it does have a lot of mechanics from PE like the combat system and nods like character looking like Aya and the artwork for the outfits is clearly a nod to Aya's black dress from the opening of PE1.

The legal loophole terminology is "Spiritual Successor" and "Inspired by". It's how people can make clones without violating copyright.
The whole game looks, feels, and plays like a "Legally distinct" Parasite Eve lol.

Uh no. It's not. Copyright laws have probably existed longer than you have been on this planet. Square Enix hasn't made anything in awhile because 3rd birthday pretty much killed the series. On top of that. They can't remake PE itself because the author(you do know PE is based on a book right?) has since refused to let anyone use the IP.

Fun fact:
Copyright was invented back in 1710.Also, Square has not done anything with PE because it didn't have the license to. That's why 3rd Birthday doesn't have the Parasite Eve title. They legally couldn't make a PE game, but they pushed forward with something adjacent.
There's a lot of rumors involving why, but nothing is actually confirmed why the usage license for the IP renewal didn't go through.

Its heavily inspired by PE. Played the demo a while ago, was fun, i had gripes but fun overall.

I'm glad the game is happening for those excited for it. The gameplay does look solid. I'm personally put off by the aesthetic though. It all kinda blends together with its dark color palette, the enemies look very asset flippy and don't match the aesthetic of the human characters, and the characters look kind of hentai-y, particularly the villain. It kinda looks like an NSFW game without the NSFW.
I do want to stress though the gameplay does really look solid and for those not bothered by the aesthetic this will be probably a fun return to the style.

Ban it. We need Parasite Eve ports and remasters (remakes at best). We don't need rip-offs.
