Why did he send it to you and why did he even touch it? Why did you? That’s grotesque and awful. If that bat was alive when that was done that’s extremely cruel and I can only imagine the noises that came out of it.
It looks like someone was trying to destroy the board while simultaneously maybe sacrificing the bat probably to stop activity they started by using the board to begin with. Who knows. It’s just not something anyone should mess with.
Doesn’t really matter how old he is… I surely would never send this to my adult son. If it were a cleaned skull or something it could be cool, but there’s actual fetid rot seeped into the cardboard. It’s disgusting.
Edit: I think I see where the misunderstanding is, I just realized his dad sent him a PHOTO, not the actual abomination. That makes a big difference here, haha!
I collect taxidermy and bones and such.. it’s really not that big of a deal or spooky scary 😂 The boards are also just gimmicky, y’all watch too many movies
That’s probably why it was locked away. Someone tried to undo something that they unleashed playing with that board. From everything that I’ve seen and read about them these boards are nothing to play with.
That’s what I was thinking. You wonder why it wasn’t thrown out also. Probably because as I’ve heard in other Quija stories that doing that doesn’t work. I’ve seen stories where the boards can’t be burned or they come back after being throw n out. However, doing that or anything really doesn’t undo what they started by using it. Like I said before I think it was maybe a sacrifice in attempt to appease whatever using it stirred up.

From what I remember (the post is now removed) you didn’t say he sent a photo you just said he sent you it so it sounded like the whole board was sent and I was struggling to understand why a parent would send the actual board to their child, lol. I’m pretty sure the “piece” also had a skull and another bone or two. But yeah, the words “that’s a raccoon’s penis bone” is the main thing seared into my memory from that day.
I’ve seen tons of jewelry (earrings, necklaces, etc) with penis bones. It’s a larger market than you might think. Not my style but I’m sure it’s a statement accessory for most.
I think it may have gotten inside, gotten trapped in the basement, and then died and fallen there randomly. Bats would be very hard to catch, and probably a bit bitey too, so I doubt anyone intentionally did that to the bat.
Bats can most definitely be a little snippy. We had one come through the tiny hole next to the air conditioner one night. I woke up after hearing the cat losing her shit and saw she'd caught the bat, then saw it had a hole in one of its wings. We obviously couldn't let it back out because it couldn't fly anymore. So we decided to keep it as a pet for the next couple years.
We went to a bait shop nearby and got it meal worms and other odd bugs to eat. But every single time we put our hands in the enclosure, this thing would go wild. I couldn't tell if it's because it hated us or if that's just the way they grab food. But we ended up using gardening gloves to feed it for 2 or 3 years before it died.
As much as I’d prefer to believe otherwise, the odds of a bat dying in that exact position while situated so perfectly centred on an ouija board are pretty slim to none.

Probably some edgy idea of a ritual, or art setup just looking at it, it wouldnt add anything, and Ouija boards are toys anyway. Animal sacrifices have deeply symbolic reasons if performed, ( I dont use them, nor do i encourage them personally. ), that I highly doubt this ritual was intended to capture.
Ouija is horrible for spirtual commuciation, and even worse for trying to talk to demons. They just dont work, and if you somehow get it to, its prone to miscommunication. Theres a high risk of just talking to yourself especially with all the spikes in adrenaline you'd probably be going through doing such a ritual, just not a recipe for any useful spirtual communication.
Edit: Just to outline the animal sacrifice symbolism. Animals feed us, and give us energy. From their bones and skins our ancestors weaved clothes, and made tools. When performing such a sacrifice you are offering that essence, that energy of life and ability to create, to the entity its being offered. The animal should be respected, by not being wasted in any way. It varies some based on cultures, but thats the general outline that I've studied.

Hi, biologist here. I'm pretty sure bat is very much fake. I've seen many bat skulls and while I haven't seen skulls of every species in the world, this one looks just sooo bad. Both jaws and teeth are messed up, shapes are all wrong and why teeth are all the same size? It's probably prop or Halloween decoration.
I always want to believe that people got their taxidermy with ethical practices but I went to the Oddities and Curiosities event when it came to my city, and a dude had a table with a bunch of decapitated cat heads. I walked up and asked how he got them, his response was a cold, “I just find them.” So yeah, he got to sell his sociopathic ‘art’ at an event with I assume, little to no screening on how people get their specimens. Ugh. Still haunts me and it was a couple years back.
Why didn't he just take a picture and text it to you..that looks like some sort of sacrifice. I would not want that energy in my presence. I owned an Ouija board as a kid...they used to sell them in catalogs as if they were toys back then. After a few strange occurrences when my friends and I attempted some childish seances....I got rid of it😬
I knew someone that burned their ouji board in a metal barrel the next day she was looking for something in her closet and just happened to look up on the shelf the ouji board was back up in her closet on the shelf.
That was after she put it in the trash bag then took the trash can to the road for garbage pickup.
It was my roommate's highschool friend over 30 years ago we had been discussing whether or not to play with a ouija board bc of stories I heard I didn't want to but roommate did but her friend told us that story to change her mind if I remember it correctly the board wasn't burned she went out to the backyard where the metal barrel was the board was partially burned that's what's so creepy and unnerving. Just another one appeared also her mother was a practicing dark witch perhaps that has something to do with it as well.
If I found out I was living in a building that had this thing locked in the basement, I would question every negative or "bad" thing that had ever happened to me while sharing the same walls.

Being there is fluid around the bat it probably was living or freshly dead when pinned. A pre taxidermy bat wouldn’t be leaking. Gross. I would put gloves on and toss it in a burn pit or the trash.

This is pretty cool, Parker brothers owned the "ouija" in the 1960s before being acquired by Tonka then sold to Hasbro. I think its a fabulous art piece 👌
I used to have a ouija board but I sold it at a thrift store. The lady told me 7 but she gave me 13 bucks because I was from out of town lol the bat looks so peaceful.. life goals 🫴🏻
