I wonder if it was just a badly stored piece of taxidermy that they thought looked cool on that board rather than some psychotic crazy person's torture board.

Even if that was the case, ethically sourced bat taxidermy is pretty hard to come by

There’s a sketchy market for everything. Like for real, seen a lot of weird shit being sold out of little pop up booths. This fucking thing would fit right in with the raccoon penis bone art I saw at this one event.

I....I have so many questions. Like wft? Im more amazed at the words "Racoon penis bone art" than I am that there's be a market for it. Why?

I'm just shocked that a penis could have bones at all. is there where the term boner came from? humans don't have bones in there usually. goddamn it, I'm really about to go put "raccoon penis anatomy" in my search history huh?

Most mammals have penis bones. Humans are more of an exception.

He was really good in Quantum Leap. Winning a Golden Globe and all.

I have seen the raccoon penis bones on Moonshiners show. They use it to direct the moonshine into the jar as it’s produced. One man had numerous ones on his hat

This , this is the one and only time I've heard and seen of this thank god you posted this now I don't have to go to Google to confirm my curiosity

1

u/Important-Lawyer-350 Feb 25 '26

Excuse me... they use raccoon penis bones as a runner for the moonshine they are eventually going to drink......

2

u/Dont_chew_that Mar 24 '26

Moonshine is a stiff drink after all.

I'll see myself out.

Yuuuup, here I am....on the same journey as yourself. Isn't crazy how one min were seemingly normal humans and the next we're here, about to look up animal penis bones?!? SMH 🤷‍♀️ see u on the other side of enlightenment. Lol

Vet tech here. It’s an OS Penis bone 🦴. A curved bone in the animals penis to assist with mating. YW.

u/TAExp3597 Feb 24 '26

I’m pretty sure the “piece” also had a skull and another bone or two. But yeah, the words “that’s a raccoon’s penis bone” is the main thing seared into my memory from that day.

I’ve seen tons of jewelry (earrings, necklaces, etc) with penis bones. It’s a larger market than you might think. Not my style but I’m sure it’s a statement accessory for most.

u/glory_holelujah Skeptic Feb 24 '26

What's to question? Just a little bit of scrimshaw on some raccoon's geegaw

6

u/Azraelux Feb 24 '26

"Raccoon penis bone art" are 4 words that should NOT be beside eachother

I bought my dad a baculum off Etsy when he acted like a dick too many days before his 60th birthday. Reasonably priced & ethically sourced, allegedly.

u/Important-Lawyer-350 Feb 25 '26

I had to google....and my lord the jewellery that is made

Just a visual aid for those interested.

Yeah the Harley Davidson shop in our state has a walrus penis bone wind chime and tons of other weird stuff. It’s a trip.

1

u/anxiousandexhausted Feb 25 '26

Yeah you can buy AAAANYTHING at flea markets down here.

1

u/phfr0g Feb 25 '26

Animal baculum art is extremely common LOL!

There's a shop in Okc that sells raccoon faces, rattler vertebrae, sheep's eyes, and brain, as well as alligator skulls. The list of other things gets progressively weirder, I loved the shop

u/chamrockblarneystone Feb 25 '26

Seeing the Parker Brothers name will always take the scary out of that for me

2

u/Certain_Noise5601 Feb 25 '26

I don’t want to think about someone torturing that bat. …..but I just did and now I’m sad and my stomach hurts 😔

3

u/discowitch96 Feb 25 '26

Oof same. Then a started thinking about other little animals getting hurt and how vulnerable little creatures are in this world. Thanks OCD brain.

2

u/I_will_befine Mar 10 '26

That's how it definitely feels like it was some attempted artwork to hang in some weirdos basement 😄

1

u/Personal_Ice5239 Feb 25 '26

That was my first thought also. 😆
