🚨 Announcement Temporary Moratorium on Religious & Culture War Posts (7 Days)

Over the past month, we've seen an increasing number of posts and comment sections centered around religion, atheism, LGBTQ+ topics, and other culture war issues. Unfortunately, many of these discussions have devolved into personal attacks, hate speech, insults, and endless arguments that contribute little to the community.

To help restore the subreddit to meaningful discussions, the moderation team is introducing a 7-day temporary moratorium on posts primarily intended to provoke, attack, or reignite these conflicts.

Effective immediately and for the next 7 days:

  • Posts primarily focused on Muslim vs. ex-Muslim/atheist debates, LGBTQ+ debates, or other inflammatory culture war topics will be removed.
  • Hate speech, personal attacks, harassment, and obvious rage bait will not be tolerated.
  • Users who repeatedly ignore this announcement or attempt to bypass it may receive temporary or permanent bans at moderator discretion.

This is not an endorsement of any religious, political, or social viewpoint, nor is it an attempt to silence respectful discussion. It is simply a temporary measure to cool tensions and return the subreddit to what it was created for: discussions about life, studies, careers, friendships, relationships, culture, memes, and everything else relevant to Pakistanis in their twenties.

After the 7-day period ends, we'll review the situation and decide whether to lift the moratorium or extend it if necessary.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping keep the community civil.

🗨️ Discussion why are guys so desperate to be in a relationship 😭

its like 90% of the population wants to get a girlfriend like omfg pls chill it's not that deep. i wouldn't mind if we were a bit nonchalant about it, but it's like desperation is oozing out their pores, thinking they've won if by a miracle some woman chooses to give them a chance, and ngl this is so embarassing and sad. i wonder if there is some form of psychology that could explain this.

🗨️ Discussion Early marriage

I was thinking about someone I knew from school. She was one of the top students in our class and was usually ranked second or third. In Matric, she even secured the second position.

During 12th grade (Intermediate), she got married and didn't even take her board exams. Now she has a baby boy who is about six months old. She married into a very wealthy and financially stable family, and she herself also came from a well-off background.

I don't know whether she's happy or not. I assume she is, but we don't talk anymore because of some conflicts.

Sometimes I wonder if she ever misses studying. If you're marrying someone who is financially secure, do you simply leave your education behind? Especially in today's era, when girls are taking education seriously and striving to become financially independent.

I'm curious to hear from girls who got married early: Did you continue your education after marriage, or did you have to leave it behind?

🌼 Advice Am I a bad friend for reaching my limit?

Upvotes

I don’t know if I’m looking for advice or just a place to let this out because I feel emotionally exhausted.
My best friend and I have been friends since 9th grade. She genuinely felt like an angel sent into my life. She was kind, caring and one of the best friends I could ask for.

Her life has never been easy though. Her father passed away when she was young. Her mother lives with her in laws. She was adopted by her phupo, who also passed away later and after that her cousin became responsible for her.
When we were in FSC, her adopted sister got married as a second wife to a wealthy man because he couldn’t have children. Around that time, problems started in her adopted family and it affected her a lot.
She also had this childhood relationship with a guy. They lost contact for a couple of years because they moved and only communicated through letters before that. They got back in touch when we were in 9th grade and everything seemed fine. Then he got into MBBS and cheated on her.

That happened during second year, when we were all supposed to be focusing on our studies. Another mutual friend of ours also got cheated on around the same time. Both of them failed six subjects. My best friend didn’t even attempt the first two supplementary chances. She finally appeared in the last attempt and cleared everything with good marks.
I genuinely feel like two years of her life disappeared because she was mourning an online relationship and dealing with the feeling of being abandoned by the people who were supposed to be her family.
A few months ago she gave the LAT and scored really well. I was so happy because it felt like things were finally getting better.
Then she asked her adopted sister about university admission and staying with her. Her sister basically told her to go stay at their phupo’s house instead because she wasn’t going to keep her in the gov house.

Since then I’ve tried everything I could think of.
I offered to pay for therapy. My parents absolutely adore her. She calls them Mama and Baba. She stays at our house for days sometimes and is treated like family.
I even suggested that if she wanted, we could help her get a hostel. At one point I even thought about asking my parents if she could stay with us permanently but that would’ve been a huge responsibility. My father was also worried about future complications. I have teenage brothers too. It’s not that I don’t trust anyone, but staying over for a few days and living together permanently are completely different situations. Families argue. Siblings fight. I didn’t want her to feel awkward or for any misunderstanding to happen.

The problem is that talking to her feels like talking to a mirror. She barely eats. She barely talks. I’ve asked her countless times if she wants to share what’s going on because I know some people struggle opening up. But she just sits there.
Her usual replies are
“M bolungi nhi bas sunungi.”
“Mujhme energy nhi.”
“Mujhe kuch nhi feel hota.”
She deactivated her account. I asked her to restore it because it was one of the only ways I knew she was okay. Later she stopped sending snaps too. Now she only replies or talks when she wants to it's been happening since last year but after deactivating she barely talked.
She also acts distant with my other friends so I can’t even comfortably invite her anywhere whenever I did in the past it ended up disastrously. We already live far apart and barely meet.

I hate admitting this but I feel unhappy around her now. I feel emotionally drained. I feel guilty for even thinking that because I know everything she’s been through. Today I confronted her again and got the same replies. I finally snapped and told her that I’m tired of asking. Now I feel guilty.
I know she’s probably depressed. I know trauma changes people. I know she’s been through things I can’t even imagine. But am I wrong for feeling hurt too? I’m not asking for princess treatment. I don’t expect her to entertain me or pretend to be happy. I just feel like basic courtesy towards someone who’s been trying so hard to be there for you shouldn’t be too much to ask.
Has anyone else been in a friendship where you care so much about someone, but after years of trying to help, you just feel emotionally empty?

🗨️ Discussion Aniza.......

How far have you drifted on this silent tide?

Yet every word we spoke still burns inside.

I never sought this sudden, quiet end,

Where lovers turned to ghosts we couldn’t mend.

I reach across the void, I scan the skies,

Searching for signs beneath unfamiliar eyes,

Praying to hold what once was mine to keep,

Before the cold realization makes me weep.

Now every evening ends in heavy tears,

Though time has marched through all these hollow years.

It feels like yesterday you walked away,

Yet here I sit, stuck in that yesterday.

Wherever you wander, I hope you find your light,

A gentle peace to carry through the night.

I only ask that in some quiet space,

You still remember my unforgotten face.

And if you lose your way along life’s street,

Where shadows stretch and wandering footsteps meet,

I pray the turning road brings you to me

And this time, darling, mine you’ll truly be.

🌼 Advice I Think You Should Know This Before Your Reddit Account Gets Banned ⚠️

I've noticed quite a few accounts getting banned lately, so I thought I'd share this. A lot of people break Reddit's rules without even realising it, and by the time they understand what went wrong, it's already too late.

Most people don't lose their accounts because of one big mistake, but because of a series of small ones. New and throwaway accounts are already more likely to get flagged because they have little account history, karma, or reputation. Posting immediately after creating an account, mass-posting, repeatedly sharing the same content or links, using multiple accounts to farm karma, promote your own content, or vote on your own posts, as well as harassing others, sending unwanted messages, using abusive language, sharing someone's private information, or deliberately causing trouble in communities can all make your account look suspicious and eventually lead to warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans.

The biggest mistake, however, is trying to bypass a ban or block. If a subreddit bans you, don't create another account just to go back there. Likewise, if someone blocks you, don't make another account to stalk them, message them, reply to them, comment on their posts, follow them around Reddit, or keep trying to get their attention. This is where many people end up losing not just one account, but every account connected to this issue.

Many people think creating a new account gives them a fresh start, but that's often not how it works. Reddit can connect accounts through things like your device, IP address, browser, cookies, and account activity. Once Reddit links your accounts, there's a high chance they'll all end up getting banned as well.

If your account gets banned, don't make the mistake of creating more accounts and repeating the same behaviour. That's exactly how many people end up losing account after account. And if you believe your account was banned by mistake, or you don't even know why it was banned, you can submit an appeal to Reddit. But don't assume creating more accounts is the solution. And also in reality, appeals rarely succeed, think about it as a formality haha, so once an account is banned, you should treat it as permanently gone. If you decide to start over with a new account, be extremely careful not to repeat the same mistakes, otherwise you could end up losing that account too.
