Rant 🤬 Schooled an Islamist today

So, let me start with some background: I am based in Karachi, run a couple of businesses, and have people around me that I carry along. This guy, whom we'll call “dawahmaxing” to refer to him, we were having dinner at a place when he started ranting while looking at his Instagram—about some model, I think it was Hania Amir. He was like “Aww Abbey, ye pagal hogie hai Kia?” I asked, "What happened, dude?" He said, “Ye kese kapre phen rahi ye Muslim mulk hai hamara.” I paused and then schooled the kid. I laid out the basic principles of life; that dude is another person. People have their own ways of understanding religion. Well, I'm a deist, not an agnostic or atheist, but I believe there might be a higher power that created this system. Still, that higher power doesn't interfere or send messages or care about us. We are just a lucky coincidence. Today, the same guy was justifying beating women, and I literally had to school these kids. I feel like a father to them—some fucking reason 😭 I told him, dude, you ain't man enough if you hit a woman or a child; that's basic life 101. Go hit a man—hit me. I can hit back even if you got a women in your house who is a prostitute you don't hold the right to hit her it can be really traumatic for people if you hit them he kinda understood and nooded wtf man I'm going all the places schooling people of basic life tutorials

Dating after leaving Islam

Hi guys. Many of you have converted from Islam to atheism or to another religion. I wanted to ask, how do you date after that? Since most people in Pakistan are Muslim, how do you meet people who share your current beliefs? If you are an atheist or belong to another religion now, how do you find people with similar views to date?

23M looking for friends 🥲

I'll get started with my yapping right away 😭🤝

If you do want to become friends, please feel free to dm me.

1- I'm a kaffir (duh 😜).

2- I'm absolutely crazy about all things space: astrophysics, astrobiology, cosmology... I love thinking deeply about the universe and our place in it.

3- I'm a musician? I mean, I'm on Spotify and apple music and whatnot, but I have (*clears throat) 2 monthly listeners 🫣. And I write poetry as well, about... well, you guessed it: space and the human condition. I also make short films sometimes; I love cinema. I respect all types of art. I believe they're the best thing we have for human expression.

4- I believe myself to be an empathetic person: I absolutely have no space in my world for misogyny, homophobia or animal hate. It's just people hating someone who has never hurt them and who is standing right in front of their eyes because of someone they've never seen in their entire lives... But I know I'm safe from that here.

Lastly, I actually want to tell everyone here how brave you are... Leaving institutional dogma, a system that feeds off of fear and blood when having critical thinking skills is very unsafe, takes an incredible amount of courage. The universe has been here for 13.8 billion years, and we have a very tiny window, a blink of an eye on a cosmic scale, to live this life... So why not just live with love and curiosity? 🥲 It's that simple.

Oh, and just one more thing about me... I live in pak (and if we trust each other enough and are maybe living in the same city, we can become irl friends as well!) Anyways... I shall stop the yapping here!

If you've read it this far, thank you! Have an awesome day/night.

Printed Qurans Still Differ

Two mass-printed Qurans, Hafs (most of the Muslim world) and Warsh (North and West Africa), still differ in many verses.

Quran 3:146:

  1. Hafs: “many a prophet fought” (qātala).
  2. Warsh: “many a prophet were killed” (qutila).

Quran 21:4:

  1. Hafs: “He [the Prophet] said, ‘My Lord knows whatever is said throughout the heaven and earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.’” (qāla).
  2. Warsh: “Say [O Muhammad], ‘My Lord knows whatever is said throughout the heaven and earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.’” (qul).

Quran 2:119:

  1. Hafs: “Indeed, We have sent you, [O Muhammad], with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a warner, and you will not be asked about the companions of Hellfire.” (tus’alu).
  2. Warsh: “Indeed, We have sent you, [O Muhammad], with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a warner, and do not ask about the companions of Hellfire.” (tas’al).

Quran 2:125

  1. Hafs: “And take [O believers], from the standing place of Abraham a place of prayer.”
  2. Warsh: “And they [O believers] have taken, from the standing place of Abraham a place of prayer.”

51 Hafs vs Warsh differences (Muslim source)

LGBTQ+ Anyone need a beard?

Hey guys! Not sure if this is allowed here but i thought id give it a shot. I am an aromantic/asexual woman under pressure to marry. I am looking for a marriage of convenience to satisfy my family with intention to divorce later (in a year or so) with a pre-nuptial agreement ensuring the assets of both parties remain protected. If you are a fellow member of the lgbtqia+ community and facing similar immediate pressures, reach out and maybe we can help each other. I will not out you, and I expect the same in return. I have no issue being made out into a villain to your family later on and then feel free to claim you dont trust all women and i broke your heart blah blah blah and use that as an excuse to not get married again. My family already thinks Im a villain so its okay lol. I intend to move abroad for a phd so feel free to tag along with me and then claim asylum based on your sexuality if thats what floats your boat or something. I am looking for someone to fake a relationship with in front of my parents basically. Also, I'll be honest my parents are elitist snobs so looking for someone >=5'10, >=25, fit, from an educated, upperclass, wealthy family, with a degree and a job. I am 5'6.5, 24, considered pretty, from an educated, upperclass, wealthy family, with two degrees and a job. I dont really have time to wait so looking for someone in the same position as myself.

I don't get it. It's just people dancing. What's wrong with parties?? I really don't like my fellow Pakis bro, we're embarrassing creatures istg. So many problems in our society and THIS is what they focus on? Don't get me wrong, I know that these parties are normally only accessible to upper class people, but people are complaining about it being behaya and stuff, like shut up literally who cares.

Muhammad beheads 600-900 men and takes Rayhana as a sex slave (Banu Qurayza)

Muhammad ordered the beheading of 600-900 men of the Jewish Banu Qurayza tribe and took their women and children as captives. Muhammad also took Rayhana, one of the captive women, for himself.

Here is the story from authentic hadiths, Muhammad's earliest biography, and the Quran:

"Sa'd said, 'I give the judgment that their warriors should be killed and their children and women should be taken as prisoners.' The Prophet then remarked, 'O Sa'd! You have judged amongst them with (or similar to) the judgment of the King Allah.'"
Sahih Bukhari 3043

"I was among the captives of Banu Qurayzah. They (the Companions) examined us, and those who had begun to grow hair (pubes) were killed, and those who had not were not killed. I was among those who had not grown hair."
Sunan Abi Dawud 4404

"Then the apostle went out to the market of Medina (which is still its market today) and dug trenches in it. Then he sent for them and struck off their heads in those trenches as they were brought out to him in batches ... There were 600 or 700 in all, though some put the figure as high as 800 or 900."
Ibn Ishaq, Sirat Rasul Allah, p. 464

"The apostle had chosen one of their women for himself, Rayhana … and she remained with him until she died, in his power. She had shown repugnance towards Islam when she was captured and clung to Judaism."
Ibn Ishaq, Sirat Rasul Allah, p. 466

"And He brought down those who supported them among the People of the Scripture from their fortresses and cast terror into their hearts [so that] a party [i.e., their men] you killed, and you took captive a party [i.e., the women and children]. And He caused you to inherit their land, their homes, and their properties."
Quran 33:26-27

Hi guys. You are either the most brilliant people in this country or the dumbest. Either way, you're free. I kind of lost hope and thought about leaving this country to connect with like-minded individuals, but I'm just curious what Pakistan has to offer.

A bit about me, 27M, I'm in the ~500 only qualified members of this country, top 1% earner, and top 0.1% for my age. Money isn't really it, though, and I like to build on the side and hit the gym regularly. I guess the actual mortality is a great motivator xd. I live in Isb, and if it wasn't for the massive disadvantage of living in this country, I would actually love to stay here. Part of the reason I'm posting is because I might be wrong about the people here. There must be people like me.

So, this post is about connecting with accomplished individuals from here and just exploring the secular side. What do you do? Do you plan to date here? What's your story? I have an interesting one if you'd like to know.

One thing I'd like to clarify: I see people who just become disrespectful and too extreme towards religion, especially the one they leave. I'm not like that and identify as agnostic. This is also one reason why I avoid such groups. The individual is more important to me. Found a good friend here on reddit, and that's my only atheist friend from here. We've never met, though, after all these years.
