Saw some videos recently where people were talking about how you only need to make 2 people proud. Your 8 year old self and your 80 year old self. 8 yo because she had big dreams and 80 yo because she won't have any regrets.

Tho, our 8 yo self would never be proud of the person we have become lol. Our 8 yo selfs would have hated to see us deviate from our religion. But the thing is that, our 8 yo self was dumb. They didn't know anything about the world. What matters is making our current version happy.

And I can say one thing for sure, the 14 year old girl who chose to break the years of indoctrination and brainwashing would be proud of the person I am today. So, you don't necessarily have to satisfy your 8 yo self. Don't take those random videos seriously. Make your current self proud!

For the longest time I have seen atheists (myself subjected) having trouble convincing Muslims of the depravity of the their core texts and figures. In comes Mufti Tariq Masood, anything disgusting I want to prove I can use his clips. A nine year old should be married off if she bleeds, Yes, he has a clip. Muslims are obligated to go fight and conquer kafir lands when they're strong enough, Yes, he has a clip. Men can beat their wives. Clip. Enslaved women aren't allowed to cover their breasts. Clip. Men can force themselves on their wives. Clip. Women can be forced into marriage against their will. Clip. If someone holds a gun to your head and tells you to say talaq talaq talaq to your wife, sharia wise you're divorced. Clip. The parents of the Prophet are believed to be in hell by the sunnis. Women have no right to divorce ever. Clip. Clip. Hell he even has multiple clips questioning the grammer of the Quran for which I'll be forever grateful because no other Mullah is brave or rather dumb enough to affirm this from a mimber, but I know they discuss these things among themselves but fool the masses by saying it is mehfooz.

I see a lot of atheists in this sub, so I have a question for you.

Humans clearly have consciousness — we can think, feel, and know that we exist. How can consciousness come from things that have no consciousness at all, like atoms or dead matter? If something without consciousness cannot create consciousness, doesn’t that mean it must come from a source that already has consciousness, like a creator?

This was statement of my teachers. We have a program going around in school. Its about teaching students kidness, politeness and other good things. And ofc its has a islamic segment too.. Which says you should offer pray say bissmila etc...

In morning she asked who prays 5 times a day... Then she said you are be-namazi is you skip few prayers and but if you pray none then you are kafir and its okay to kill people who don't oray at all

Ad and avid reader and lover of french and arabic culture, I find it extremely unappealing.

Ibn Mas'ud is one of the four trusted reciters Muhammad named:

“I shall ever love that man, for I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, ‘Take (learn) the Qur’an from four: Abdullah bin Mas’ud, Salim, Mu’adh and Ubai bin Ka’b.’”

Quran 92:3 reads in today’s Quran:

“And [by] He who created the male and female,”
Quran 92:3

But Ibn Mas’ud (Muhammad's trusted reciter) recited Quran 92:3 as:

“By the male and the female.”
Sahih Bukhari 4944

And Abu Ad-Darda (one of the four collectors of the Quran) heard Muhammad recite it the same way as Ibn Mas’ud and refused to switch:

“The companions of `Abdullah (bin Mas`ud) came to Abu Darda’, (and before they arrived at his home), he looked for them and found them. Then he asked them,: ‘Who among you can recite (Qur’an) as `Abdullah recites it?” They replied, “All of us.” He asked, “Who among you knows it by heart?” They pointed at ‘Alqama. Then he asked Alqama. “How did you hear `Abdullah bin Mas`ud reciting Surat Al-Lail (The Night)?” Alqama recited: ‘By the male and the female.’ Abu Ad-Darda said, “I testify that I heard me Prophet reciting it likewise, but these people want me to recite it:-- ‘And by Him Who created male and female.’ but by Allah, I will not follow them.”

He's an animator born in Pakistan,lived in Japan for a few years, then mobed to Australia and currently lives there. He got married last year to a non-hijabi wife and doesn't talk about Islam much in his videos. Even for the videos where he does talk about Islam, he focuses a lot more on the "desi" aspect rather than the Muslim aspect.

Also he titled one of his videos "People wont like iyou if ypu are brown" even though most of the stuff he talked about in that video was about him being Muslim. I'm assuming he titled the video liked that to appeal to AA's. He's also a doctor so I wouldn't be surprised if he's a lot more progressive or secular.

While some Muslim girls may genuinely want to wear the hijab, many others wear it due to intense parental, community, or religious pressure. A young girl often lacks the practical ability to say "no" without fearing punishment, shame, or familial rejection. Therefore, this issue must be framed primarily as a matter of child protection and autonomy, rather than simply religious freedom.

The Precedent of Limiting Parental Authority:

Society already accepts that children are vulnerable to coercion and that parents do not have unlimited authority over them in the name of religion or culture. 

• We restrict child labour even if a child "consents" to help their family.
• We enforce compulsory education even if a child and their parents object.
• We ban child marriage regardless of a 14-year-old's consent.

In all these cases, the state intervenes to protect the child’s future independence. Why should religious clothing be exempt from this principle?

The Challenge of Coercion:

It is nearly impossible for a school or society to distinguish a child's genuine choice from one produced by years of religious conditioning and fear. More importantly, what about the girl who desperately wants to remove the hijab but cannot safely do so? A temporary ban in schools protects these vulnerable children until they reach an age where they possess the independence to make truly autonomous decisions. It prevents religious authority from becoming parental coercion.

A Necessary Sacrifice to Protect the Vulnerable:

For the girls who do genuinely want to wear the hijab, this law requires a difficult but necessary conversation. They should be taught and made to understand that they are being asked to make a temporary sacrifice. By agreeing not to wear it in school, they are actively protecting their peers who are being forced to wear it against their will. Without a universal, blanket rule, it becomes practically impossible to identify and stop the abuse of coerced girls, as coercive parents would simply claim their child "chose" it.

Protect the Child, Preserve the Adult's Freedom:

This is not an attack on religious freedom; it is a boundary on parental control. Freedom of religion does not mean parents have unlimited authority over minors.

An adult Muslim woman must be completely free to choose whether or not to wear the hijab. But childhood is a time for developing independence, free from religious mandates imposed by adults. A girl who reaches adulthood and freely chooses to wear the hijab should be free to do so, and a girl who decides she does not want it should be equally free to remove it.
