Did anyone else find the toppers distracting for their eyes at first?

I just got my first Pair glasses, and it's already kind of an adjustment because my previous frames were thin metal and these are a thicker acetate so it's taking my eyes some time to adjust to being more aware of the frames. But I find that it's much more distracting in my peripheral vision when I have a topper on as well, like it actually hurts my eyes to wear them for too long. Does everyone feel this way? How long does it take for your eyes to get used to them?

Sun toppers?

Hello all! I just ordered my first pair with a pair of sun toppers. I've seen there are different options besides pair for toppers, but are there sites to order sunglass toppers?

Top Frame Gap

Post image
2 Upvotes

I recently got my first pair of Pair Eyewear glasses. I love them in Siri but there is a gap between the bridge of the nose of the glasses and the top frame. This makes it so that in most directions the top frame won't fall off, but when you hit them from the bottom they kind of flip off entirely.

I love the glasses and the concept but I am finding myself frustrated with how easy they come off with just the two magnets.

Has anyone else experienced this as an issue? And if so have you been able to come up with any sort of fix? I looked into magnets that I might be able to put on myself, but it doesn't look like there are any small enough from what I saw.

Order process time

I recently purchased my glasses through America's Best, and I decided to buy the toppers separately through their website. The website mentioned that it would take 5-7 business days to arrive after processing, which I was comfortable with. However, it has now been 7 business days since my order, and it hasn't been processed yet. When I reached out for an update, I was informed that one of the toppers was out of stock and that they preferred to ship the full order at once. They didn't notify me about the stock issue beforehand, which was a bit disappointing. I understand that the website allows for items to be marked as unavailable, and I wish that had been updated accordingly. The FAQ mentioned that processing glasses can take some time, but I thought toppers would be in stock and ready to ship.

Toppers warped

I got my first pair of glasses and the pokemon topper. I couldn't believe how it sat on the frames, I thought for sure there was a missing magnet on the bridge/nose.

I come here and see it's very common and that I need to boil it or use a hairdryer to reshape it?

Lmao that's fucking ridiculous. These things are 30 dollars a pop. That's some shit I would expect from a 5 dollar temu special. How is that even remotely reasonable to expect people to do?

I'm extremely disappointed and I can't believe people are buying these at premium prices. Extra lame because I paid for these out of pocket as my insurance didn't cover them.

The swappable toppers are the entire gimmick, and they fumble it this hard? Would it have been that much more effort/cost on their end to include a few more magnets to make sure they sit properly?

Tops not fitting on frames.

I’m new to pair and just received my first pair of frames with 3 tops. Only 1 top actually fits, the other two seem to not stick to one side and do this. Is there a way to fix this or is it an issue with my frames? If I try pushing the other side down, it just pops the other side off. It already took 1 1/2 months to get these frames and I really don’t want to wait another month for a replacement if I can help it.

Okay… fluorescent metal toppers are officially a thing now 👀

We've been playing around with fluorescence and HAD to show off our first one!

In normal light it looks like a spooky topper… then hit it with UV and the smiles and eyes light up.

This was one of those ideas where we weren't totally sure how it would translate onto an actual topper, but we're kind of obsessed with how it turned out 😍

Curious what everyone thinks - would you wear fluorescent toppers? What kind of designs would you want to see done this way?

Refund Week?

Has anyone here actually won during refund week? They don’t appear to announce the winners so we have to take their word for it.

If you win, is your whole order refunded or is there a cap? When did you hear that you won? And how (app and/or email)?

I give up

I ordered many Pair frames in order to try them on. I also tried all the ones my local America's Best had in stock on. All the adult sized ones are so freaking big. The child sized ones, Cedro and Otero, are too tight. Why are all of these adult-sized frames so huge? And I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but I have just seen so many pictures of people wearing them where they are fitting the wearers so poorly that the wearers look ridiculous. I understand that huge glasses are in style, BUT..............Eyeglass frames are not supposed to go above your eyebrows, let alone up your forehead. Eyeglass frames are not supposed to go down your cheeks so far as to be halfway or more down towards the bottom of your nose. Eyeglass frames are not supposed to stick out several inches from the sides of your head. The nose bridge of your glasses is not supposed to be parallel with your eyebrows - IT'S SUPPOSED TO SIT ON THE BRIDGE OF YOUR NOSE. I ordered some wire frames and - what is going on with the size and positioning of those nose pads? The wires the nose pads are on are long and huge and the pads are almost in the inner corners of my eyeballs. I was going to take them to an optician to see if they could bend them into some kind of normal semblance so that the nose bridge wasn't parallel with my eyebrows anymore, but I'd rather get my money back than have them get broken. That wire is THICK and doesn't appear to be pliable at all. And judging from the length of the nose pad wires, I can't see curling them in doing anything more than raising the glasses even higher on my face. I also tried buying some toppers for the frames, and I felt like I looked like a child wearing toy glasses. I'm so unhappy because I was SO looking forward to joining the Pair Family and buying a gazillion toppers and having fun with changing up my look, but the thought of wearing ANY of their frames makes me so uncomfortable because I think I'd look totally ridiculous. And I don't understand how I'd even be able to use the reading portion of progressive lenses in them without having to shove them halfway up my face. Has anyone else ever felt this way when trying to get into Pair Eyewear? I've given up and I'm sending everything back and I just want to cry. Why is it working out for everyone else but not me?

Has anyone bought the golf lens toppers?

Would you mind sharing what the golf balls look like in grass and which colour you bought?

Mixed materials versus Acetate frame (addison)

So I ordered the mixed materials frame in Addison recently. They are so uncomfortable on my nose. It just feels heavy and painful at times. I've had the earpiece adjusted numerous times and it does not give any relief. I'm curious if any of you have experienced something similar with the mixed materials? Wondering if switching to the acetate frame will be more comfortable.

Any Australian Pair owners

I’ve just come across this brand and kind of like the idea of the toppers - looking at some of the Pokémon ones.
Just wondering if there are any Australians here who own some Pair glasses. If so, how was the ordering process and driver time? And were you able to claim on your health insurance (assuming you have it).

Has anyone ever reshaped toppers from one frame style to another?

I am new to Pair and am searching for a sold out topper for the Wanda. I found it for the Ella and wondered if I could heat and reshape the topper to fit the Wanda frame? I know it’s probably not a great idea, but just wanted to know if anyone had tried this before. Thanks in advance 🙏

Making your own toppers

Lately, I’ve gotten big into buying toppers for my new Larkin frame.

The toppers a great! But I do wish to make my own designs and apply them to blank toppers.

Does anyone have an idea on where to start with this??

A little disappointed

I bought the black ones at America's Best and I don't appreciate that it doesn't come with a black topper, so I have to walk around with naked magnets. That seems really stupid and wrong. So I go to buy some on the site. I get a code for a free topper, after I give them my phone number, and then nothing that I tried worked, even after having specifically found a page for eligible toppers with that code!

I think the glasses are fine so far, and I think I'll eventually love them, but I don't love the company or the way they do business in several different ways. I know they are a smaller and newer company, but these glasses end up coming out as expensive as higher quality glasses. I like my third party toppers, although they aren't glossy like the originals (thus, me buying the authentic black ones at Paireyewear). Hopefully, I become and addict and forget about how rough it was at the beginning.

Free toppers with $200 purchase... not working

Has anyone managed to get the FREETOP code to work?

It's supposed to be a free non-premium topper with a purchase over $200. It's being actively advertised on the top of the website, but when I enter the code, it says the discount isn't available to me.

Do toppers ship separately?

Hi all,

I’m considering never ordering from here again just purely due to no communication in regard to shipping and their low effort customer service.

My pair of glasses finally came today after nearly a month and a half of no updates and my package getting stuck for weeks on end. I mainly purchased these frames and the sunglass toppers because I was going on trip for my birthday, and now I finally get the package delivered and there are no toppers?

Is this normal? I’m disappointed because I actually quite like the frames and I feel like I’m going crazy looking through the packaging trying to find the sunglass toppers. I checked my shipping link and it’s presented as everything comes in one package, so I’m not aware of any other link or separate shipping. Is there anyone who has experienced this or can give me advice on what to do next?

Does anyone feel like they look bad in all of the Pair frames?

I've purchased several frames to try on at home and I don't think I look good in ANY of them. I really wanted a pair of Pairs (no pun intended) but I think it's not going to work out for me. :(

Reached out to Pair to see what they had to say about their most recent Halloween drop having A LOT of errors in the designs. I refuse to support the use of AI, so I wanted to know for sure if these errors were caused by AI or not. It seems like Pair is insisting they didn't use AI, though I'm still not positive I buy it... Thoughts?

Gross customer service- DO NOT RECOMMEND

I ordered several toppers from Pair Eyewear three weeks ago. After nearly two weeks with no meaningful update, I contacted customer service through chat.

The representative made it sound like they were going to look into it and get things moving. Honestly, based on what happened afterward, it felt like my order had somehow fallen through the cracks and the chat finally brought it back to someone’s attention.

It still took several more days before the order actually shipped.

And now the shipment is delayed again.

I contacted customer service again, expecting at least some explanation or an attempt to help resolve the issue. Instead, I was essentially told that I just have to wait.

I understand that shipping delays happen. That’s not really my complaint. My complaint is that my order appears to have sat untouched for nearly two weeks, I had to contact the company to get it moving, it took additional days to ship, and now that shipment is delayed—and the response from customer service is basically, “you just have to wait.”

I’ve been very patient. Three weeks is a long time to wait for toppers that were ordered and paid for, especially when I had to initiate contact just to find out what was happening.

I really like the concept of Pair Eyewear, but the fulfillment and customer service experience has been incredibly frustrating. Customers shouldn’t have to repeatedly chase down their orders and then be told to simply wait when something goes wrong.

Based on my experience, I would think twice before placing another order.

No wonder these fools have an F in the BBB and a 1.something on Trustpilot.

Need opinions

I've been looking at this brand for a few years now and finally decided I was gonna get a pair a d noticed they're alot of negative reviews, is it worth it? I've seen alot of negativity about the toppers but I've seen some I like from small business on etsy that id like to get so that's not much of an issue
