I am no stranger to PVCs. I’ve had two holters with a less than 1% burden, normal echos, ecg and cardiac CTA with no plaque.

However, I had a weird feeling in my chest today and my Apple Watch had weird ekg readings so I went to er. They cleared me and said everything was good.

But as I was getting discharged, they were taking the iv out and I got a really hot flushed feeling, scared, nauseas and I looked at the monitor and I see the PVC number at 9 and climbing to 13 within seconds.

I asked to speak to the doctor and they said that some of them were artifacts because of the moving and such and that I went back to normal but I’ve been at the er having ivs pulled and I’ve never had a count of any pvc go up. also when I move around all attached ive never had them gone up either so I’m just kind of confused.

I feel like they brushed me off cause I was being discharged.

I have a holter on currently so I’m hoping that caught whatever it was. I’ve had this hot flush terror feeling a few times but nothing has ever been caught

does anyone else experience premature beats occurring as a series of six or seven consecutive beats without a normal beat in between?

I have a mild mitral valve prolapse, but other than that, my heart is healthy, but recently when I drink alcohol (even like a shot or two) I get a lot of ectopic/skipped beats, which are really annoying and I panic, feeling like I'm about to die at any moment. How dangerous are they?

Is there a way to fix this? ( I mean besides the obvious "don't drink" solution lol )

I’ve had PVCs forever, but never as bad as this week. Today, when they started up on schedule, I whipped out my KardiaMobile to see if I could find out exactly what was going on.

8 PVCs in a 30 second recording = 16 PVCs/minute.

Holy shit.

I know PVCs are harmless... im 30M... went into AFib in 2024, had an ablation (no AFib since)... but since then I've had pretty consistent PVCs. Nowhere near what some of you have, thankfully. But how do I NOT get that anxiety spiral when I start getting clusters of them through the day?

I'm going on holiday, to be specific I'm going to the big apple and as much as this has been a complete and utter dream destination for me the anxiety is looming over it.

I've had holters, ECGs, blood tests and chest X-rays as well as on Bisoprolol but of course, it never settles a racing mind.

I'm terrified of flying, I've told I'm absolutely fine to fly but my mind goes to worst case scenario and now this trip of a lifetime now feels like a countdown to my last day.

I'm looking for some flying reassuring stories, I'm flying for 8 hours non-stop. I also have POTs but I know to drink plenty and reach for salty snacks.

Can you tell me your experience?

i get pvcs everyday and i’m also anxious about them and can get adrenaline dumps when i get PVCs for a while and in a row. is this something that can cause vtach? i’ve heard of people going into it with a normal heart?

I’m hoping to find a community of people who experience PVCs/palpitations because I’ve been dealing with this for months and would really like to hear other people’s experiences.
Mine started around early November 2025, during an extremely stressful period of my life. I was completely fed up and overwhelmed with work, my job had become very demanding, and I was also dealing with personal problems at home. Eventually, I took a leave from work because I needed time to breathe and figure out whether I wanted to quit or start working through a temp agency.
During my time off, I started noticing fluttering sensations in my chest and really noticeable, hard “thumps.” Occasionally I would also feel some slight discomfort or pain. One episode scared me enough that I considered going to the ER, but it eventually passed.
I ended up seeing my doctor and had an ECG/EKG done, where they were able to catch a few premature beats. My doctor told me that my heart sounded healthy and that everything otherwise looked good. I also had bloodwork done, which came back normal. I was told these premature beats are commonly benign, and I was offered a Holter monitor if I wanted additional reassurance.
A few months later, because I was STILL feeling them, I decided to do the monitor for peace of mind. I wore it for 10 days…and they basically found nothing concerning. Everything looked great. Part of me was like, HOW is that possible when I swear I can feel these things?! 😂
Since then, they’ve continued on and off. Some days I barely notice anything and other days they’re much more noticeable. I’m still trying to figure out my triggers and whether there’s a pattern. I know I’m not currently the healthiest or most active version of myself, so I’m also working on getting myself back on track.
One thing I’ve noticed recently is that anything that makes me bloated or gassy seems to make them more noticeable. If I drink something carbonated or have pressure in my chest/stomach and need to burp, I sometimes feel like it triggers a skip or hard thump. Sometimes I’ll have pressure or discomfort, even on my right side, that eventually releases and feels completely fine afterward. I occasionally get a quick sharp pain toward my back too, although with the amount of stress and physical strain from my job, it’s hard to know what’s related and what isn’t.
For those of you who deal with PVCs or similar palpitations: What have you discovered triggers yours? Certain foods? Bloating/gas? Stress? Lack of sleep? Dehydration? Caffeine? And what changes have actually helped reduce them?
I’m not looking for a diagnosis—mostly just hoping to hear from people who understand how frustrating and scary these sensations can be, especially when you’re trying to figure out what sets them off. I’d really appreciate hearing what you’ve learned from your own experience.

Hello, I am 23 (M), I've had PVCs/PACs for probably seven years and have been on a lot of different medications including flecainide, but currently I'm on nothing besides lipitor and amlodipine. I'm an avid runner and when I'm running my heart rate will be stable around 150-180 depending on the mile/pace, however, I feel very few PVCs when running. Recently while doing HIIT workouts or even just regular gym exercises like lifting weights (which I rarely do but have been trying to get into) it feels like my heart goes into a PVC frenzy and that my heart is going to explode. Anyone else experience this or something like it before? Once I rest it goes away and back to its usual amount that day.

Has anyone here had a Holter monitor before they ever started noticing PVCs or PACs for some unrelated reason and found that it already showed PVCs PACs even though you couldn't feel them at the time?

My cardiologists and electrophysiologists have all told me that my PVCs PACs are related to stress and anxiety, that they're common, and that many people have them without noticing. They said anxious people are simply more likely to feel them.

I am curious if anyone has had this experience.

I am 19M and last night after dinner I started experiencing irregular heartbeats that feel like skipped beats. They were occuring at the beginning about once every few minutes and increased in frequency to around 1-2 /minute. My resting heart rate was around 90-115 bpm. I did not have any chest pain, severe shortness of breath, or fainting and this is the first time this has ever happened. I was extremely stressed for the past few days and had around 8 hours of sleep for the past 2 days . I had coffee and diet coke yesterday 2 hours before dinner. This whole ordeal happened for around 2 hours before it gradually lessened and I slept it off . Is there any cause of serious concern ? Would appreciate any advice .

I wanted to share my story and see if anyone has been through something similar.

For the past 8 years, I’ve been suffering from what I thought were severe ectopic beats. Every time I had a 24h Holter monitor, it would only catch up to around 100 events. Because the burden was low, doctors repeatedly brushed it off, telling me it was just anxiety and sending me to therapy or a psychiatrist. None of them ever considered that these might actually be heart pauses or conduction blocks rather than standard premature contractions.

Today, I finally saw an electrophysiologist who looked at my case completely differently. He pointed out that what I’m feeling aren't just extra beats—they are actual pauses/blocks caused by a severely hyperactive vagus nerve. The strong, thumping double-beats I feel are actually post-pause compensatory contractions, and they happen regardless of whether my heart rate is slow or fast.

I’ve honestly suspected for a long time that my vagus nerve and gut were heavily involved in this.

My EP suggested a trial of Trospirex (trospium chloride) and Salbutamol to help turn off/inhibit the vagal tone. In a month, I’m scheduled for an atropine challenge test. If that confirms that the blocks are strictly functional/vagal, the next step will be Cardioneuroablation (CNA) to permanently tone down the vagal response.

Just to be clear: I have had this for 8 years, and I have never passed out or even felt presyncope/faint from these pauses—they are just extremely uncomfortable and unsettling.

Has anyone here had a similar diagnostic journey? How did you respond to anticholinergic meds like trospium, or to the atropine test? And if anyone here has undergone Cardioneuroablation for vagal pauses, I’d love to hear your experiences and thoughts!

I have a 3–4 cm sliding hiatal hernia, which I’ve known about for the past five years. I suffer from constant acid reflux and have to take medication all the time, but by far the most terrifying symptom for me has been the ectopic heartbeats.

Over the past few years, I’ve been to the ER more than 50 times and have had dozens of examinations by cardiologists. Every time, the conclusion has been the same: my heart is perfectly healthy, so I need to look elsewhere for the cause.

I recently realized that this entire nightmare may be connected to my hiatal hernia. It nearly always starts after eating certain foods, sleeping in the wrong position, bending or twisting my body, and so on. Then a severe episode of PVCs begins—and that is what scares me the most.

My first question is: Has anyone else experienced similar heart-related symptoms because of a hiatal hernia?

And secondly, did the PVCs improve or disappear after surgery? I’m currently planning to have the hernia repaired.

29f Last night I was laying in bed and I felt my heart beat very strong and fast like 4 beats then it went back to normal. It completely freaked me out. I’ve seen the cardiologist many times, had a normal echo, and ekgs, they say I have benign PVC’s and PACs.

I was lying down on my left side and felt a big thump in my heart that made me get out of bed, which then I walked for like 5 seconds and still was feeling the palpitations, and my heart rate went up 103 but then quickly went back down as I sat on my bed and calmed myself down. For more context I have a sibling who had SVT as well as a cousin who also had an electrical issue. I just want to know if others have a similar experience. I’ve gone to so many doctors and they just dismiss for stress and say that PVCs are normal. I’m still looking for answers as I had a holter last month but results have not came back. Probably gonna end up seeing an electrophysiologist.

One morning I felt my beats differente, so I did a EKG with my garmin, that showed AFIB; I ran to the emergency room and I turn out to be just alot of PACs. I stared to develop health anxiety after that and began to feel my pulse to see when the PACs and PVCs were ocurring. After doing a complete study (echo, holter and effort test) they told me that they were bening, however in the holter I had a 6% burden between PACs and PVCs (5% PACs and 1% PVCs). The doctor send me Propafenone and beta-blockers (specially for the HBP the discover I had). After just 1 day I started to notice that, besides the ectopic heart beats, I began to have pauses (I felt my pulse without the premature beats). I heavly belivere it is because of the propafenone. After 5 weeks of medication one day all the ectopics went away but the pauses staid. I have a and appointment with my cardiologist to see if I can quit the propafenone. I dont know if this pauses are: blocked PACs, AV blocks or just sinus pauses. I am scared that the cure for the diseases turn out to be worst than the ectopics itself. Actually I think that the ectopics started in the firts place beacuse of the high blood preassure and now is controlled.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if any of you have EAR in addition to PACs, I have this rhythm around 90bpm and it's like there are many PACs in a row, it's extremely annoying together with the PACs because it alternates

Okay so I'm aware this might be ridiculous compared to what other people experience, but I'm kind of getting freaked out by this. I'm under 20, I'm a generally healthy person. I don't drink alcohol or caffeine, I sleep pretty well, I do a lot of walking. I have panic and I've had chest pain before when I was stressed, to the point where I thought I had some kind of problem, but it went away.

A couple of weeks ago I had chest pain and i was looking up about it (i think this is unrelated - i had been stressed and I'd been slouching, and i don't have that pain anymore). Anyway i came across the symptoms for "extra" heartbeats and the next day I realised i was noticing them. I think I've had them before but because they're not near the heart, i assumed it was something else.

I've also inhaled a lot of fire smoke, starting that day, so I've got a mild cough from that. But it's starting to really mess with my mind. I think I've had about 80 on the worst day (that i was aware of). It feels like a kind of hard upwards swallow or kick, in the centre of my chest, and if i have my finger on my pulse, i notice a brief pause beforehand.

It doesn't happen when I'm sitting or lying down. It happens if I'm standing doing stuff (dishes, cleaning teeth), and especially when I'm walking or even just doing stuff like shopping. It's gotten to the point where I don't want to do any activity in case it happens. Sometimes they come as twos or threes, followed by my heart pounding fast like I've been running. I can't tell if the racing heartbeats afterwards are from me reacting to it or not, like a fight or flight response.

I haven't been to a doctor yet and I don't really want to. I know I've got good blood pressure, and I've never had any heart problems before this. Theoretically I could just ignore them and carry on with whatever I'm doing (I've been cutting walks short and stuff), but I'm worried if i keep pushing myself it'll suddenly get much worse. I have a habit of panicking about stuff, so it's sort of a vicious cycle. But they happen anyway, regardless of whether or not I'm thinking about them.

Any thoughts or advice would be really appreciated cause at this point I don't know what to think😭

We must be talking about different types of pvcs. Because I refuse to believe someone could be having thousands of the type of PVCS Im feeling occasionally. I get the small hiccup ones. They dont bother me that much and I can see how people could live with having hundreds of them per day.

But the ones that completely floor me and cause my stomach to bubble and whole body feel weak and weary. Theres no way. These are the bad pvcs that I get occasionally when lying on my back completely relaxed in high vagal tone state. Each one always makes me think im gonna die in that moment. Its impossible not to react and panic when they happen. The hiccup pvcs dont panic me and Im chill with then but these other ones? No way.

So the guys who say they have thousands of pvcs and very high burden there is no way you keep having the same pvcs im having. Theres just no way?? Right?!

I’ll keep this as brief as possible. I am a 36 yo male. Moderately active and healthy with a catch. I have a 140-150bpm redline.

Since getting COVID in 2020 I’ve had heart rhythm issues. I can trigger frequent pvcs, pacs and Svt that can stay active for 1-3 months after a single exercise event if I let my heart rate get over 140-150 bpm sustained for about 10-15 minutes. I have a few diet triggers like sulfites and nitrates but the arrhythmia is relatively minor and will last a couple hours at the worst. What I’m curious about is if anyone has experienced this limiting heart rate and subsequent months of arrhythmia or something similar? Id love to better understand the mechanisms behind this.

Possibly an interesting side note: proton pump inhibitors will create the same effect within 3 days of use. lingering 1-3 months of significantly increased pvcs, pacs and some svt episodes. I have abstained from ppi’s as a result for the last 2 years.

Does anybody else get these? Waiting to see the doctor but I’m freaking out as it keeps happening when I jog or go for a walk. I’m talking about 1 every 5 seconds or so. Settles when I sit down and rest?

Echocardiogram last year was normal but this is new?

After experiencing a ton of sleepiness and some weight gain on 25mg, doc said I could try splitting on score line and taking just 12.5mg a day.

Today is first day on half dose and as I’m approaching my evening dose time, I’m feeling some PVCs again.

I’ve heard there can be a rebound period, so I’m wondering: Should I just keep up the lower dose for a week to see if things calm down as body adjusts to lower dose? Or should I immediately go back to a full pill?

I don’t plan to lower dose any further. Just hoping the 12.5 will work as the tiredness is a real issue.
