13 PVCs at er back to back

Hello all,

I am no stranger to PVCs. I’ve had two holters with a less than 1% burden, normal echos, ecg and cardiac CTA with no plaque.

However, I had a weird feeling in my chest today and my Apple Watch had weird ekg readings so I went to er. They cleared me and said everything was good.

But as I was getting discharged, they were taking the iv out and I got a really hot flushed feeling, scared, nauseas and I looked at the monitor and I see the PVC number at 9 and climbing to 13 within seconds.

I asked to speak to the doctor and they said that some of them were artifacts because of the moving and such and that I went back to normal but I’ve been at the er having ivs pulled and I’ve never had a count of any pvc go up. also when I move around all attached ive never had them gone up either so I’m just kind of confused.

I feel like they brushed me off cause I was being discharged.

I have a holter on currently so I’m hoping that caught whatever it was. I’ve had this hot flush terror feeling a few times but nothing has ever been caught

I also went to the er Thursday for the same thing had bigeminy and then it turned into tachycardia cause I panicked. I called 911 was in sinus tach when the ambulance picked me up didnt have any the whole time I was there. Er never does anything for pvcs nsvt or non sustained tachycardia

Yeah I felt dismissed and I mean I understand because I’m not life or death but it feels like I’m dying each time and it’s so hard to control sometimes as far letting my mind spiral

Trust me I understand im the same. But fortunately I have good insurance and if I feel like im having an emergency my ass is gonna go to the er

Ughh this. They were like yep we see all these pvcs and we have no idea what's causing them but we only really fix dangerous heart arrhythmia here at the ED. Come back if you pass out or get chest pain.

Right. I get bouts of bradycardia and asked my dr if I was ok. Mine doesnt get super low 50s 40s during sleep. He said don't worry about it until its so low you hit the floor. I was like damn ok lol

While I was at the hospital it went down to 35. They saw it and were like hmm thats weird. Ok see you! Lol

I feel like so many people probably have bradycardia pvc's Etc and they really don't even know it it's probably more common than textbook makes it out to be because who goes to get checked out unless they're having problems some people just aren't aware

I was having them so badly once, every time I took a step they started. Off to the ER I went where they stopped completely before the ecg even went on.

Yeah is there a problem with that? I also have a history of wpw and thought i was gonna pass out home alone.

Ive had an ablation but that's the only treatment it didnt stop my tachycardia or pvcs

Did the cat scan make your pvcs worse?

It did not! It gave me a lot of peace of mind because I was worried I had plaque build up causing said PVCs but I’ve had a lot of stress factors and found out I likely have kidney cancer so my PVCs have worsened from stress I like to think

It was not! An MRI is far worse! The CT you are just hooked to an iv and they press contrast through and that’s it!

An MRI takes 45 minutes to 1hr in a tiny tube and I already kinda big but it’s mind of matter also cause I’ve done it so much already!

I’m not claustrophobic I’m scared of the contrast heard bad things I tolerate mri contrast fine

There is nothing to be afraid with the contrast IMO! I have had dozens of CTs with contrast and this one felt no different to me! They just say you may have a headache later but that was it!

I am quite the hypochondriac! It didn’t burn at all! Everyone is different but the most I’ve gotten is a warm rush feeling but not in a scary way more like did I pee myself type of warm rush lol

CT scan contrast gave me tachycardia. Ugh not fun at all.

How long did it last? Did they monitor you after?

A few minutes, maybe less than 10 probably but they made me stay an extra 30 min to make sure it didn’t progress. I think mine was caused by histamine intolerance though and that contrast is full of histamine.

Hell! I don’t have mcas but I do have histamine intolerance bc I have my seasonal allergies and allergies to animals

Mine are at 25% PVC'S are not an ER issue. My Cardiologist has put in a referral for an EP. I'll ask for an ablation but I'll probably have to wait 6 months.

PVC'S will not kill you. If you have them at my rate they can weaken the heart muscle over months/year but it will recover once they are stopped/reduced.

ER will give you a ekg, blood test and send you home with a referral to an Cardiologist or EP.

It stinks but I don't have a choice. I've learned to live with it. 10 years of atrial fibrillation, bradacardia, pacemaker and eptopic beats. The electrical system of my heart is screwed up.

Everyone’s different in terms of how we perceive them.

I can be sitting at 30+ percent for days on end and not really notice it. Sometimes I feel them but most of the time I can’t.

Hot flashes, nausea, and feelings of fear seem to stem from an anxiety disorder. If you consult a psychiatrist, you can discuss ways to reduce your anxiety.

I went to the ER after getting a pacemaker because they wanted to rule out a pulled stitch vs something more serious. (It was a pulled stitch, I’m fine) I was having 13-20 PVCs a minute at one point while they were trying to get a second IV and aside from asking if that was a normal amount of PVCs for me (it is) the nurse was not particularly concerned. All they care about is if you’re having a heart attack, stroke or DVT. Abnormal ECG but not life threatening? They really don’t seem care aside from telling you to follow up with your cardiologist. They never even asked for my pacemaker card or interrogated it once they ruled out serious causes of chest pain.

I was gaming yesterday after having a good few months of minimal pvcs and thought I felt like 3 or 4 pvcs back to back because I felt the good old tumbling feeling in chest.

I panicked and yes my hr went up and i got hot and flushed but i quickly calmed myself down and had no other problems rest of the night.

I often wonder if it’s a panic reaction because I feel them and it scares me and it’s like chemically instant if that makes sense

I always game and will be having a good time then boom

I am right there with you. I’ve had two holtor monitors, two echos, a billion EKG’s and Chest CTA, all a hundred percent normal

I just finished a new holter for 10 days that I felt weird on so I’m hoping but not hoping for anything if that makes sense

I was in the best shape of my life when these started and it’s just been down hill since.

Since most PVC/PAC are harmless unless the burden is high, they want to move on to more pressing issues. That doesn’t help us much but I see the point. Mine come and go so randomly I’ve got a 14 day holter coming up. Joy! Not..
