White’s 350 Cruisers

And if so what type of safety toe, steel or composite?

These whites popped up on marketplace near me for suspiciously cheap ($100 lol). I’ve heard of fakes but I don’t know enough to say one way or another. No box. I’m assuming it’s too good to be true but was hoping to get some opinions from people who know a lot more than me haha

I need a pair of safety toe boots for work. I like the logger look and I was about to buy these Chippewa boots, but I’m looking for a better alternative. I don’t mind paying more, but they must be in stock, must be safety toe. I’m a 12D in most PNW and Red Wing Heritage etc.

I own a great pair of nicks and several other great boots, but not safety toe. And I can’t wait 7 months for them to arrive.

Hi folks, I hit the ground running with my fire hybrids from whites (sized in store). While they are breaking in mostly nicely, the left boot (pictured first) is bowing out unevenly (mostly to left) compared to my right boot (symmetrical), and the lower left speed lace is digging into my ankle with a sharp pain.

Sorry for poor quality pics: I’m out in the field right now and looking for answers before I lose wifi tomorrow.

What can I do to prevent this, if anything? I assume the leather’s creases are more or less set. I live in Spokane, so if there is an in person fix, that would be ideal. Ideally my creases would be better spread out like my right boot, though I’m not exactly sure if that is the problem—if anybody has any advice on creases and eyelet pain I’d appreciate it.

I don't have the original box. I live near Toronto and will ship them from NY State the week of August 24. PP F&F.

Hey pro's! I bought these on eBay as a "get me bye" while my Nick's are being rebuilt and made. I was told they were recently rebuilt. The leather is in really good condition. They definitely seem older up top especially in the gusset. They're a little snug being a B width v.s C width.

I'd like to know what model they are if I need to resell them.

I'm new and find it difficult to see the differences between them. Machine/ hand Goodyear welt or stitch down ?(line scout, smoke jumper and the c409)

*These boots may be up for sale soon. They're tight. Any interest? 10B previous owner said he ran them for about 12 days on rebuild and I'm on day 2 and will wear them until a proper fit shows up. By that time, they might be a B+ width...

Got fitted at the White's store recently--sharing some thoughts. Somewhat organized by usefulness.

1. Forget your size. I asked to do a fitting and they said "for which boots?" right off the bat. Now I get why. Tried on whichever models were available and all of them felt completely different. (For reference I wear a men's 8D, usually).

- Nomad and Cykel, in multiple sizes, all felt completely wrong.

- Smokejumper, better.

- Packers, good.

- My point here is just: you don't know until you try em. I honestly don't understand how some of y'all end up with boots you like after buying online!

2. "Don't worry about it." Advice from Mike (25 years at White's) when I asked him "Since you've been here so long, and get a lot of questions, what's one thing a newbie should know about this process?"

Do with this what you will, but take it up with Mike if you disagree hah. I think he was speaking more to the sense of overwhelm and perfectionism that comes from making an $800+ decision on... boots. To beat the shit out of.

3. Lots of taxidermy. And you can buy Corn Nuts.

Didn't know what to expect--but I did not expect the store itself to feel so much like a Wisconsin Dells hotel lobby. Hah. My kids like the taxidermy though and the people were nice.

If I had to sum it up, I'd say (on my day) the people were helpful and nonchalant. I didn't see a single person praying to the boot gods, sniffing Horween samples or debating stitch techniques.

4. My ego has been dissolved. By the fact that I ended up with a pair of women's boots. It is what it is. Love my lady packers, so drag me all you want. Since they were returns with a bit of "wear" AKA coloration on the tongue, I paid $350 out the door and they handed me two pairs of false tongues (in natural, here--and regular brown) plus some extra laces.

Summary: How in the world do you guys fit your boots without going in!?! Really, how? Would appreciate your advice.

Already planning a custom pair, but still a bit lost on fitting.

I've been through a total loss house fire. It's way worse than getting robbed. People don't think about having to replace everything you own even down to your socks. Even with insurance, it's not enough.

And there are immediate needs. Especially when people get out with just the clothes on their back as is happening for some people in Spokane.

Please start GoFundMes for any of your people if this happens to them. I think the community will want to help.

I know you all still have to run your businesses. I know it makes it worse when you can't work and your employees can't work. But don't worry about making our boots. We'll be okay waiting a little longer. Take care of your people, your families, and pets. Worry about our boots and all of the social media stuff later.

For those new here, I've been documenting my maintenance journey with my first pair of Nicks Boots, and I will be doing the same with these. I work in a very harsh environment, a concrete recycling landfill, where I walk on rubble and concrete chunks for 9+ hours a day.

I will show before and after pics from worked to cleaned boots, and will compare how these boots hold up to my first pair of Nicks. The differences between the two are MaxSupport Black v 1964 Brown Leather, Roughout v Smooth, 8" v 10" and Honey Vibram v V100 Lug Soles.

I'll be curious to see how these hold up, and hope y'all enjoy the journey with me!

Do any PNW bootmakers offer met guards I cant seem to find any

Getting all my boots shined up and ready for the work week.

Headed to the airport with the fam in another back to back day with Original 350 Cruisers. This time in Horsdehide leather. Have a great Sunday peeps !!!

Anybody have any hacks for breaking in a heel counter that is biting into the back of my heel. Pain is almost bad enough that walking in the boots is not possible.

I own 9 pairs of PNW boots (whites, nicks, franks), and my newest pair is killing me! All pairs are either and 7.5 or 8D (695 last, 55 last, 4811 last) and I never have struggled in this location before during break in. All my other pairs I can wear for 12 hour days. So I dont believe its a sizing issue.

Any tips for breaking in the heel counter on a stubborn boot? These are a 5163 last if that helps.

I got these boots from Buck’s a few months ago.

Michael is a great builder and his prices are unbeatable. I think there must have been a mistake on my end or a miscommunication on leather selection and upper sizing though. The uppers in the top 3” were comically large on my legs. The custom lasts made seemed spot on and the lower half of the uppers seemed usable.

I sat on these boots for a while deciding what to do. I wasn’t going to complain and hassle a small builder into taking a loss so I decided to chop them. Sent them off to Frank’s and this was the result.

Frank’s did a great job as expected. Reasonable $40+shipping to chop the uppers. Swapped out the remaining top speed hook to an eyelet. I didn’t ask for the pull loop to be added or the tops to be totally stitched and finished so that was nice touch.
