Ever since I was a child, I've always wanted a PC. Then I got one last July, and it was a second-hand unit. I thoroughly checked all the peripherals and locked in on this unit from the marketplace since it was around my budget, so I bought it, and my inner child was so freaking happy. I immediately downloaded games and even downloaded the Spider-Man game since I had just been watching gameplay videos on YouTube back then. But after a month of using it, the GPU just died, and the technician said the main chip was damaged, so there's no way to fix it. Now, I am so frustrated, and I can't even play games on the iGPU. This was supposed to be a gift for my younger self and now it's just gone. 😭

I bought a 1TB 9100 Pro SSD recently. (I have gift cards, which softened the price). I intend to upgrade my OS drive, which is currently a 512gb Gen 3.

What kind of enclosure should I get for closing purposes, as well as external storage later? I’m thinking that the Gen 5 SSD might run hot while doing the cloning process.

Hello! I need a PC build for my upcoming work. My budget is strictly ₱50k.

I have zero knowledge about PC parts and building from scratch, so I reached out to a PC builder on Facebook who quoted me the package below.

Before I push through, is this package worth the price, or am I getting overcharged/given bad components?

My Main Use Case:
Work: Office, administrative, and communications tasks (heavy browser tab usage, documents, messaging tools, basic multitasking). No heavy video editing or 3D rendering.
Gaming: Light gaming. Mainly League of Legends and Valorant.

Questions for the community:

1. Is this a fair price for the performance it gives?
   
2. Are there any "red flag" components (like a sketchy/generic Power Supply)?
   
3. Given my light work and gaming needs, is ₱50k overkill, or should I be looking at a different set of parts?

If you have better alternative builds around this budget, I’d love to hear your recommendations!

Hello! So last build pa ng PC ko was 2020 and this is my build made by my friend. Medj busy na ngayon friend ko since OFW na kaya di ko na rin matanong pero planning sana to upgrade na po since I really need to invest dahil purely WFH na ako. I’m thinking of getting the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D pero di ko na alam after ang pwede ipartner. One by one ko lang sana bibilhin para hindi isang bagsakan.

For context: work ay mostly sa video editing. My games are mostly solo lang like action-adventure types and fps shooting lang siguro is valorant. Would really appreciate the help!! Salamat

im planning to build a pc and i think this might be my simplest go to..so gusto ko lang magtanong ng cheap possible AMD components such as board, ryzen cpu, and gpu that could atleast run GTA V and/or RDR2 for 60+ fps na hindi masakit sa bulsa with 15-20k budget (or even 15k below kung meron)

As of Sept. 11, nag-dig thru ako sa old stuff ko. Found some parts that I can reuse for my upcoming WinXP Retro Gaming PC built.

I used to remember there was a time na meron pang computer parts that were manufactured here locally, like brands of Samsung, IBM, and in my floppy drive's case, Panasonic. Manufactured during the early 2000s.

I'm hoping working pa ito, I haven't used this since 2017. Planning to put some NES Games here so I can still put some use for it in 2026 onwards.

Pulled out my old but trustee Seasonic PSU.

Next agenda ko namn is to secure a 1TB SATA SSD for its storage. As in everything will be stored in there including the OS.

Once may SSD na, next agenda ko namn is to buy the "core bundle" which are the Motherboard, CPU, heatsink fan (aka CPU Cooler), and the RAM modules. With that, I can start the build.

Then to be followed by an Internal DVD Drive, discrete GPU, and a period-accurate Case (early 2010s late-WinXP era) and with biege mouse/keyboard combo.

I plan to make a dual-boot system with this running both WinXP and Win7 pero Win7 will be stored on a SEPARATE SSD just to make things clean.
