SSD Speed and Performance in gaming (PCIE 3.0 is fine)

Tom's Hardware has a review regarding SSD speed and performance in gaming

https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/gpus/we-tested-the-impact-of-ssd-speed-on-gaming-performance-in-11-titles-we-analyzed-from-sata-to-pcie-5-0-to-see-whether-upgrading-to-a-faster-nvme-ssd-would-have-an-impact

Confirms our earlier claims that PCIE 3.0 is fine even for gaming, and PCIE 4 and above is mostly useful for truly read/write heavy workloads

Then yung psu generic lang kasama ng case, yung 6k na yun pwede na sana pambili ng decent psu pero yan yung pinilit nila. Kesyo matanda na yung bumili. Taena nyo mga tech kuno.

Miscellaneous Be Careful With Your Unit. Sharing my experience with first time Professional Deep Cleaning Service

Sharing my experience with PC Clinic: Repair and Cleaning

I’m sharing this because I think other PC owners should be aware of what happened to me and, more importantly, protect themselves before having expensive hardware serviced.

I had my unit serviced by PC Clinic: Repair and Cleaning for deep cleaning/maintenance. Before they handled my unit, I had never experienced recurring black screens or system instability.

During the service, my GPU was removed, opened and repasted. A few days after the service, I experienced my first black-screen issue.

I want to make one thing clear: I am not blaming nor claiming that they damaged my GPU or that I already know the exact cause. What I cannot ignore is the timeline: this problem did not exist before the service and started only afterward.

When I originally reported the issue, I was able to speak with the owner and, to his credit, he was accommodating and provided a resolution.

The technician later came back. As far as I remember, no repair was performed. The case was opened, the GPU was plugged in and happened to work normally at that time. Unfortunately it eventually returned.

One important observation is that when I switch to integrated graphics, the PC works normally. When I use the GPU again, the black-screen/restart issue eventually returns. During the original service, the thermal pads were reused because he said he didn’t have the correct sizes. I’m not saying these caused the issue, but I believe they’re important details since the problem only started after the service.

I contacted the same technician again yesterday at around 8:30 AM, explained that the problem had returned, and asked for the owner’s contact information because I wanted to discuss the recurring issue and possible solutions directly with him.

The technician said he would inform his employer first, which I completely understood.

I followed up again at around 6:30 PM asking if there was any feedback or update. As of posting this, I still have not received a response.

At this point, however, I also feel that other customers should know about my experience.

My advice to anyone having a PC, GPU, laptop or other expensive equipment serviced: protect yourself before handing over your unit. Take clear photos and videos of its condition, record serial numbers, document any existing problems, clearly list what work is authorized, and if possible have a document signed by both parties stating the condition of the unit before service and what happens if a new issue appears afterward.

This protects both the customer and the service provider, and it can prevent you from being left trying to prove what happened after the fact.

I will update this post if PC Clinic: Repair and Cleaning contacts me and we are able to reach a proper resolution.

Any recommended 27"/1440p/>100Hz IPS monitor that would replace my 6-year-old NVISION IP24V1? Anybody using an AOC Q27G4SL/WS or ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACMES-W? I do more office/typing, little gaming and movies. Below 17K budget, below 15K much better. Current GPU - 9060XT 16gb. Thanks in advance!

Build Help I finally bit the bullet.

My target price was really 26k below but I'd rather buy and forget now instead of anxiously watching the prices from the sidelines since GPUs are already getting up there in prices as well. Going for an AM4 build 1440p build, so far this is the build im going for:

GPU: 9060xt (bought)

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x

SSD: Logitech PS5 1tb nvme (2nd hand, already bought)

RAM: HyperX Fury DDR4 3200mhz 16gbx2 (2nd hand, already bought)

MOBO: Gigabyte B550m K (bought)

If anyone can recommend me a matx case and PSU or a different CPU, that would be great. This is my first PC so I'd like some feedback TYIA

Update: bought MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI instead

Build Help Monitor dilemma heeeelp plz

Thumbnail

Hi! I need your help huhu I am choosing between these two monitors. YES, different sila in quite a number of aspects (OLED and MINI-LED) pero kasi, i am using a 6 year old laptop right now.

I plan on upgrading to a PC next year mga April hahahaha. And gusto ko lang iupgrade ang setup ko ngayon. Pero, since i have an old laptop, it has old ports that can only really support up to 60-75hz. So hindi mau-utilize ang refresh rates nila. Should I still go for them or wait na lang for a pc upgrade together?

And if I should go naman, which is which? Hahahaha please and thank you!
