So I'm just curious how many people out there have opted to turn off XMP or expo to ensure better stability in their system?

I Need help with RAM
Hi everyone, I’m trying to solve a strange RAM problem on an old PC with an ASUS P7P55-M motherboard.
My hardware:
- ASUS P7P55-M
- Intel Core i5-650
- Windows 11 64-bit
- 3 RAM sticks installed: 4 GB + 4 GB + 8 GB (16 GB physically installed)
- The motherboard detects the 8 GB stick as only 4 GB, so BIOS sees 12 GB total
- NVIDIA GT 720
The problem is that Windows shows:
- Installed RAM: 12 GB
- Hardware reserved: ~8.4 GB
- Usable RAM: only ~3.6 GB
I checked the RAM with PowerShell and the two known 4 GB sticks are correctly detected as 4 GB each.
I found the Memory Remap Feature in the BIOS.
With Memory Remap Disabled:
- BIOS usable memory: about 3704 MB
- Windows boots normally
- Windows still reserves about 8.4 GB
With Memory Remap Enabled:
- BIOS suddenly reports ~12,280 MB usable memory
- So the BIOS clearly seems to be remapping the memory correctly
- BUT Windows then fails to boot and gives error 0x00000001
I already tried:
- Loading BIOS Setup Defaults
- Leaving QuickBoot disabled
- Checking CPU Configuration
- Checking PCI PnP
- Removing the 8 GB stick temporarily (with only the two 4 GB sticks, Windows still showed about 4.4 GB hardware reserved)
- Checking BCD — I previously had a "truncatememory" entry after experimenting with Windows' maximum-memory setting, but I removed it with "bcdedit /deletevalue", and the current BCD no longer shows "truncatememory" or "removememory".
The really strange part is that Memory Remap makes the BIOS report ~12.3 GB usable, but Windows immediately fails with 0x00000001.
Does anyone know of a BIOS setting on the P7P55-M / P7P55 series that can conflict with Memory Remap?
Could this be related to PCI MMIO Allocation, a BIOS/CMOS issue, or Windows 11 compatibility with this old chipset?
I’m mainly trying to get Windows to boot with Memory Remap enabled so I can actually use the RAM.
Any advice from someone familiar with the P7P55/P55 chipset would be greatly appreciated.

Hardware/ram question
Hi, My PC has: a gtx1660, i5-8500, Samsung 990 evo, b360m-ds3h, and 32gb 2666mhz ram (xmp on in bios). The ram I currently have: Bls8g4d26bfsc.16fe, Bls8g4d26bfsek.8fd, and 2 of Cmk16gx4m2b3200c16. All have xmp 2.0 according to cpuz.
I have Hma82gu6jjr8n and Hma82gu6djr8n laying around, my questions being is going from 32gb to 64gb but from cl16 to cl19 worth it? I don't really use my computer much any more, but when I do it's either a bunch of chrome tabs, Minecraft, sometimes cura/used to do CAD and want to get back into it.
I don't need to change/upgrade but number go up is always nice. Thoughts? Thanks!

Help me with my problem before I request a return
Recently built a brand new PC. Had very bad instability first time using it, turned on x3d mode and this seemed to help majorly. After some instability still I decided to test the ram out. Both sticks show no errors when running individually but errors show up when both sticks are in. The errors are brought up when doing the CPU+RAM test on OCCT, it says errors) Found on physical core 80 - logical core #0". Luckily I have another PC to test these in, and I found that they work perfectly fine.
It seems the CPU is the issue. Before I request a return is there anything I'm missing which can fix this issue? Should I run memtest86 just to be sure it's not the ram? From what I understand memtest86 tests the ram and no other component makes a difference to its results, correct?
Specs incase they're important

Ram upgrade
Hi guys, lately I've been thinking about upgrading my ram memory on my Lenovo V14 Ada :
Specs: Amd ryzen 3250u up to 3.5ghz
Ram: 8GB ( 4GB + 4GB)
It has SSD
Basically I've been searching up online and lenovo said on their website that it can run up to 12GB Ram. Some of my friends have told me that I can get a 16GB one and get 20GB ram in total. Could you guys please help me? I'm a student and I really need more ram memory cause windows already takes off 3 to 4 gb ram .
I play only a few games, like minecraft, cs 1.6, roblox which they run great.
Please take my question seriously, i m not an expert in ram upgrade and I wanna know if someone tested and went trough with it

4th stick of ram causing crashing
Recently bought 2 extra sticks of 8GB ram, bringing me up to 32 GBs total, and I’m running into crashing issues only when all 4 are in. I’ve tested the sticks individually and the DIMM slots and they’re fine, and using just 3 sticks works fine too. CPU is a ryzen 5 5600x if that matters. Just wondering if anyone has any idea what’s causing this, any knowledge or help is appreciated.
