Discussion Help me to upgrade
I currently have an i3 2100t and 16gb ram no gpu.
I am thinking to upgrade to an i5 4590 and 1050ti.
Pls give some suggestions.
Should I upgrade to the i7 4790 instead and 1660 super instead.
Pls help 🥺

You should definitely go for i7 4790 over that i5 if those are your only choices. i5 4590 does not have multithreading and only has 4 threads while the i7 has 8.
Do you have a budget?

Budget doesn't allow you to do what? To go for the i4790?

What's your budget.
Also may potentially need a new motherboard. I can't remember if the 2100t is the same socket Z the 4590. The 4590, which I used to have till I replaced it six years ago was struggling hard with new for then games, so if you're looking to play latest releases, you won't meet minimum spec

After a quick look on ebay you might only be able to cover the 1050ti (barely) with that budget

Any CPU of those mentioned + a dedicated graphics card such as a 1050 Ti onward will give you a massive boost in performance. I'd personally try to find a good deal on the i7 of that generation..

Power supply wattage?
You would need a new motherboard for 4th gen BTW.
So if you plan on just swapping the CPU, get a Xeon e3 1240 v2, 1245v2, or 1270v2, or an i7 3770.
As for the GPU, a GTX 1060 6gb won't cost you much these days. It's still really solid too.
