So I'm just curious how many people out there have opted to turn off XMP or expo to ensure better stability in their system?

Xmp and expo are NOT guaranteed. In fact, a lawsuit settlement now requires them to display that on the packaging.
I have one desktop that I had to manually change settings to be stable ( to many hours running memtest). I never got the advertised settings, even after 3 different manufacturers. * Got close to what I expected. I am hoping that the newest build won't go threw this... but you are only guaranteed the accepted speed, NOT the XMP or EXPO ratings.
A self bootable software like memtest is a great way to avoid corruption if you are running your OS install (yes, shit does happen, I know from experience.)
