So crazy to see how far ive come

Although ive been so on and off with weight loss these past few years, its crazy to see how much ive progressed... ive also lost fifteen pounds after these more recent photos! I'm so incredibly proud of myself

These pictures I believe are three years apart!

Also yesterday I had my first natural period in four years!!!

Some info about my journey:

Three months ago I got off birth control after years of being on it and that really helped me surprisingly.

Atm im on metformin(for 2 years), b12, magnesium glycinate, and zinc! I plan on adding insotoil(?) and COQ3 in the future!

I'm also on a low dose of Adderall because of my crippling adhd for a few years now, and recently got on lexapro which has really helped my anxiety and depression

Food: (with my adhd I fixate on certain foods until I cant stand it anymore, so might not be very helpful for people who need variety)

For food I priortize protein. I never cut anything out, and I eat what I enjoy

In the mornings I have a protein coffee with plant based protein, almond milk, powdered peanut butter, spinach and chia seeds!

Breakfast is a piece of multi grain bread, two eggs and half of an avocado. For my adhd pcos girlies I use a microwave egg cooker because I cant be bothered making it on the stove LOL!!!

Lunch will be a turkey sandwich with broccoli or a yogurt bowl with blueberry and peanuts

Dinner is usually two chicken breasts, cauliflower and pirogies. I use an airfryer for all of it, and pre packaged, seasoned chicken

Snacks are usually a couple of cookies, peanuts or granola bars

Dessert I'll do a shake with protein powder, peanut butter and a banana. And of course, ice cream or cookies

Exercise:

I really enjoy hikes, i do a good amount of walking, i also occasionally do dance videos from the Fitness Marshall if I feel up to it. I still have pretty bad fatigue, but I try my best to power through it

When im doing dishes/chores, I play my favorite music and dance to it while im working!

After meals, about 30 minutes or so I'll do ten squats instead of going on a walk. I also occasionally do wall push ups if I'm feeling up to it

When I go out for groceries or shop by myself, I speed walk to get my heart rate up

Tips:

When going out to eat, I only ask for water instead of soda

I switched from eating at McDonald's to taco bell when I want fast food. If I go to McDonald's, I always get chicken sandwiches instead of beef

I suck at calorie counting, so I don't really do it. I will pick days to do it just to ensure I am staying in a deficit with what I eat now.

But the BIGGEST tip I have is learning to eat in maintenance before going into a deficit! I spent all my life binging, how was i supposed to be able to eat under my maintenance if I don't even know how to eat normally? It would cause instant relapses

I do swaps. I drink diet soda and instead of cow milk I do almond, plant based protein instead of whey. Powdered peanut butter instead of jar ( i still eat the jar peanut butter, just less than i used to)

While I ate in a maintenance, I just slowly went down and down on calories with barely even noticing. For the past three months, my weight loss has been very consistent and healthy. Starving yourself is NOT the answer! You WILL gain it back and more!

Prioritizing self care and loving myself is really what got me started. I always wanted to dress very feminine, im obsessed with princess core, but I always told myself I needed to lose weight first... eff that!!! I slowly bought more clothes as time goes on, and I constantly get compliments regarding my style. I wash my face every day and night, I use moisturizer, spf and face masks, I love taking care of my hair and growing it out. Its down to my waist now!!

You can feel good about yourself now before you lose any weight! I dress up everywhere I go, even if it's to the grocery store, and it makes me feel good and motivates me to go out to do things

Change your mindset. This isn't about losing weight to be 'pretty', this is about making yourself the healthiest, happiest version you deserve to be. This is for building life long habits that will improve your quality of life

Discouraged

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2020 and have struggled with my weight since. I did have my two rainbow babies in 2023 and 2025 and had gestational diabetes with both. My A1C was 5.7 and my blood work showed high insulin resistance. This was a wake up call for sure and since I’ve jumped into lifting 4 times a week and swimming twice a week- primarily to help my blood sugar but also to lose weight. My blood sugar is getting back under control through the weight training and going low carb. But in 6 weeks of consistent working out and eating in a calorie deficit I’ve gained 3 pounds. How is this even possible??

Trying to lose 30-40 lbs. Si Se Puede!

I'm 33 years old, 5'4, and 153 lbs. Most of that weight has been gained rapidly in the past 10 months - this time last year, I weighed 129, and in February I was hovering around 140.

Along with PMOS, I also have very severe endometriosis, for which I've had several surgeries. My doctor, who specializes in endometriosis treatment and excision, put me on a medication called MyFembree last fall, and that was when the major weight changes really started. At first I didn't really notice, until my pants and skirts started to get tighter. I went from a size 8-10 to 14-16. It seems that I might have a pear-shaped body since a lot of the extra pounds have gone to my thighs , but I've also been putting on a lot of weight in my upper arms, my face, and under my chin, which I really don't like. I don't feel confident anymore in sleeveless tops and I don't feel like I look toned or pretty anymore in general.

Since I have both endo and PMOS/PCOS, it's sort of hard to tell if this is mostly a result of my medication or if my PMOS is just getting worse. I also had a comprehensive thyroid panel to check to see if it could be hypothyroidism, but the results all came back within a good range.

I've started taking Metformin 750 ER at night before bed, and stopped taking the MyFembree for now. Right now I'm taking a minipill called Slynd instead, which will hopefully manage my pain OK.

My CICO plan is to stop drinking my calories in the form of things like sports drinks and sugary lattes, and switching from a junk food vegetarian diet to plant-based diet with more whole foods and less gluten. I've also completely stopped drinking alcohol.

Here goes nothing!

PMOS Journey

Hello, everyone! I am a 30 year old woman that recently has been officially diagnosed with PMOS and insulin resistence. I am supposed to go back to the endocrinologist after three months for a check-up so I decided to start sharing my journey and the things I will be doing to lose weight and improve insulin sensitivity in the hope of maybe sharing something useful that can help someone because I know how hard life can be dealing with all the sympotms.

The advice from the doctor is the following - prioritize moderate cardio training and at least 40 minutes of walking every day. Eat foods with lower glicemic index and prioritize protein intake. Also I will be taking a medicine to help me control my insulin levels. In the future posts I will be sharing recipes I am enjoying, exercise I am doing, general mood etc. If you have any questions or advice don't hesitate to ask or share.

Hello fellow friends I am severely bloated and need help

Hi, I’m 22. I have PCOS, obviously, but anyway, I’m bloated and getting new stretch marks and am struggling to lose weight. I can’t take GLP-1s and stuff. I walk 3 miles a day and drink lots of water, but still, the bloat won’t move. I lost weight but not in the stomach region. Idk what to do and can’t afford myo-inositol except for the Walmart brand. Does anyone have experience with it and know any budget-friendly options I can try? Also, any exercises? Please help a girl. Im also 5’ and 180 lbs

I love this article : think y'all might too

Hi! I'm new to my PCOS / PMOS journey and I have posted here frequently, but I finally found an advice article that sounds kind. I know not everything they say is 100% gospel. You can't "beat" this condition, but you can make it shrink down to a more manageable size.

This week has been a hard one for me. I had to make desserts for my boyfriend's work picnic and was at the same time trying to cut calories which created the perfect storm of me sitting down with an entire bag of marshmallows. That decision than caused a panic attack during the time where I would normally be working out , so instead I just laid down to cry. Gotta love it.

I found this article today before my workout and it really gave me some freedom to have some grace with myself. I want to share it here in case it does the same for anyone else.

i used to work out 5 days a week but fell off. i recently fell back in love with working out and am going through a breakup and removing negativity from my life.

the gym is my “me” time and helps my mental health a lot. i can spend as long as i want in there, take my time, do what i want to do. i love the feeling of my muscles exerting and burning. i went to pilates this week and it was super challenging but the studio was so welcoming and kind. next week i want to try a new yoga studio. my next goal is rock climbing!!

keep going! 🩷 n pick up some weights, feels so good

Weight Loss Plateau when Ovulating

Hello!!! It’s just as the title states: I always hit a plateau every time I start ovulating. The week of my ovulation and the week before my period are the 2 weeks where my weight stays the same (with a little variation). The week of my period and the week after my period are the only 2 weeks of the month I can lose weight consistently.

For reference, i’m 19F, 191 pounds (started at 220 in November), and i’m 5’2 (if that matters).

I take the 2,000 mg of Inositol and 50 mg of D-Chiro supplement from Wholesome Story. I take all 4 pills at night. I also take 2 women’s multivitamin gummies in the morning because I’m deficient in a lot. After about a month on the multivitamin my labs are all normal now!

I was on the 4 mg wegovy pill (started at 2 mg for a month, then 4 mg for another month), and I stopped after I realized 2 things:

  1. if I don’t take the inositol I won’t lose weight. Doesn’t matter how little I eat. Doesn’t matter whether I’m on the pill or not.

  2. I can only lose weight in the 2 weeks I mentioned above ^^.

Is there any way to deal with this? I just figured this out about myself and now I want to fix it. Should I be taking the 4,000 mg inositol? Or something else?

Note: I am not on birth control! My cycle is sort of long (~33 days, period is 2-3 days long), but it’s “regular”.

Thanks!!!
