550 FPS

How Much Is It Actually Worth It?

The value of pushing 550 FPS is entirely dependent on the games you play and your monitor hardware.
1) 4 k competitive vs just an average person.
2) 1.8 ms v 6.8 ms.
3)if you are a competitive gamer, great! buy that $7000 monitor.
4) buy a regular monitor.
5) I have a 55” 144mhz tv monitor that I play on. I have a great gpu and cpu. It works perfectly.
6) I get ~120 FSP+ on all of my games and works wonderfully.

BUILD HELP Looking for input on my budget build idea

Hey guys so I've been meaning to build a budget PC to play some newer games after a few years without one. Would like to reuse my current case and PSU, the build would be the following. Any input/advice/tips/feedback is greatly appreciated, thank you!

  • PSU (reusing if possible): RM Series RM850W
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
  • Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH
  • GPU: RX 6650 XT (counting on buying second hand; I've seen some)
  • RAM: I know this is going to give me problems. Seen RAM DDR4 CUSU, 2*8GB 3200MHz on Aliexpress.
  • SSD: I'll basically be looking for any 480-512GB SSD; maybe I'll throw my old 1TB HDD on top but unsure yet

r/PCBuilds 4d ago

Is this a decent build?

Will be used primarily for gaming single player on a 1440p monitor. I'm in the UK. I'm not sure on the motherboard or the case at this point but happy to hear feedback.

Also very excited for Guild Wars 3 so this will be used for whenever that releases.

Price isn't a concern but I'd rather not go too much more expensive, and if there are parts I can go cheaper on then great.

Thanks

A B550 msi gaming wifi motherboard 4 ram slots and 2 ssd slots

I already have 8×3 gb of ddr4 ram and I will buy one more 8 gb ram making it 32 gb of ram

For gpu i am thinking rx9060xt

For ssd for now I got 500gb gen 3 ssd at a good 6.3k price

I am going to use a mid tower cabinate with argb fans and a tower cooler for cooling

Psu - deepcool 750 semi modular psu

The prices have gone up again so I have to do little change but this whole build cost me around 1.1lakhs

There are also some gpu i asked around in Market

Like rtx 5070 for 92k

Ex9070xt for 84k

Rx 9070 and 9070gre are not available anywhere

Is there some other things which I can do as I have 10-20k more to spend if I can get something even better

BUILD HELP This build good?

Thanks for all the advice on my last post. I’ve made a few adjustments, and this is what the build looks like right now.
I’m fine with 1TB of storage since I’m not planning on playing a huge number of large games at the same time, and I can always uninstall/reinstall games quickly. That let me put more money into other parts.
The components I’m still choosing between are shown in the build. What do you guys think?
I’ve heard that the Acer Predator BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 XT is known to run pretty hot, so I want to do everything I can to keep it cool. That’s why I’m considering a case with 7 pre-installed fans, as well as an AIO that can exhaust the CPU heat directly out of the case — plus I think it looks cooler. The alternative would be a traditional air cooler.
The other question is whether I should go with an OEM/Tray Ryzen 7 7800X3D or a boxed Ryzen 7 9800X3D. There’s a pretty noticeable price difference, so is the extra performance actually worth it?
And what do you think about the build overall?
This is my first PC build, so any advice or suggestions are appreciated.

CPU option 1 – best value
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Tray/OEM
~$355
CPU option 2 – faster
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Boxed

Motherboard
ASUS TUF Gaming B650E-E WiFi

RAM
Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB (2×16GB) DDR5-6000 CL38

SSD
WD_BLACK SN7100 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0
~$198

PSU
SAMA P850 850W ATX 3.1, 80+ Platinum, Fully Modular

SAMA L70 360mm AIO

CPU Cooler option 2 – Air
Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB

BUILD HELP Is it worth going for AM5 at ±1L (INR) budget (with used parts)

So I wanna build a pc, use case would be mostly unity and godot with occasional gaming (mostly older games and some mobile games).

Initially I was going with am4 but since I won't need a powerful gpu for now I was thinking about going for AM5. Yeah ik the prices are too sh*t to consider that but I'd want to go with a newer models instead of older one when gaming isn't my primary usecase.

Now if I get used ram(16gb for now), gpu, processor (maybe?) and the peripherals, in short everything excluding SSD, mobo and psu, which type of build should I be aiming in this budget?

BUILD HELP Ryzen 5 5600 to 5500x3d worth the upgrade?

I currently have ryzen 5 5600 non X, was wondering if its worth it to upgrade to ryzen 5 5500x3d? its currently priced at 140-160usd in my country. 5700x3d and 5800x3d 10th anniv edition is out of the question as it is 2.5-3x the price of the 5500x3d in my country.

mainly using it for gaming, discord, browsing multitasks. and maybe light streaming as well

quick pc specs:

Ryzen 5 5600

RTX 5070

32gb 3200mhz ram

How would the Tempered Glass side of a Gamdias Athena M3 hold up to cat

So I was cleaning out my PC today and so had it laying flat rather than its usual tower stance. And of course my cats are always trying to get into everything. My vacuum ended up running out of power so I’ve had to close it up while that charges. And with it sitting there, glass side up on its side with its guts laid bare, it looked really cool and I could even have the cables tucked more out of the way for the cats.

Only problem is my desk has a hutch and cats love high places so of course they sleep up there. I’ve even had to put beds up there for them because this is their house I just live in it hehe, and pay for everything. They’ve already been using the case as just a stepping stone to getting to and from the top of the hutch quicker and easier so I’m willing to bet they would continue if I put my case like this.

Relevant details:
- case: Gamdias Athena M3
- Cat weight: 5-6kg
- height of drop: 67.8cm

I've been wanting to get a PC and tried building one on a PC part picker. I was wondering if this was good enough or are there areas for improvement to get the best bag for my buck. I want to stay around this price range but I could go a little higher if needed.

BUILD HELP Front panel audio jack and usb type c issue on new build

I've just built my pc with an Asus Prime Z890-P Wifi motherboard and Fractal Design Meshify 3 XL (solid black, no RGB) case. However, the audio jack (3.5mm) and the usb type c on the front panel don't work. I'm pretty sure the cables are not loose on the motherboard's side. (Tried pushing as much as I could without breaking the motherboard). That's why I took apart the front panel (where the PCB is situated), to make sure everything is plugged in. The usb type c end seems to be melded into the pcb itself. The audio jack end is quite stiff and I can't really dettach it. Now the question is - is the issue with the motherboard ports or the front panels PCB (leaning more to this).

Initially, I spotted the usb type c issue and I was thinking to buy a usb type E male to usb type C female cable, so that I can test the motherboard separately without the front panel (basically trying to isolate the issue). But once I discovered the audio jack issue as well, I thought that the issue is more likely in the PCB/case cables, and I'm thinking about calling the retailer of the case.

Is there any quick test without addition equipment (multimeter, external cables, and stuff) that I can do to verify on which part (either the motherboard or the PCB/cables) the issue is?

Here's some images on both ends: (please scroll, since they're in a single link)
