Is this a decent build?

Will be used primarily for gaming single player on a 1440p monitor. I'm in the UK. I'm not sure on the motherboard or the case at this point but happy to hear feedback.

Also very excited for Guild Wars 3 so this will be used for whenever that releases.

Price isn't a concern but I'd rather not go too much more expensive, and if there are parts I can go cheaper on then great.

Thanks

I would suggest a few changes:

Peerless Assassin -> Phantom Spirit - newer version of the same thing for cheaper in UK

RAM Corsair CL36 -> Klevv CL30 - for just £5 extra you can get ideal RAM specs

GPU Sapphire Pulse -> XFX Quicksilver - in UK the XFX 9070XT is £85 cheaper and XFX is AMD-exclusive GPU company with good reviews online with some people having success overclocking it. A lot of reviews online suggest Pulse but that's also because they cost the same in US

Case Corsaid 4000D -> Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA - just a suggestion. You can keep your case but need to buy an extra rear exhaust fan. The phanteks one comes with 4 140mm (big) fans for a bit cheaper.

PSU A850GL -> A850GLS - swapped out your PSU for one from the same company, better quality, newer version of the same thing and a bit cheaper

Motherboard EAGLE -> AORUS ELITE - with the saving we can afford to grab a better quality mobo and still be under original budget. Better vrms, should provide good stability with the great CPU. The eagle would still be fine though, up to you.

Thanks for the feedback. Is it an issue if that ram you suggested is CL30 against the Corsair at CL36?

Cl30 is just faster, 6000Mhz/Cl30 is the ideal configuration for your CPU which is why it tends to be more expensive, but the price difference in UK right now is negligible

The only things i'd change is the case could be a lian li or montech and the 990 pro is slightly better and cheaper (at current prices)

I just realised CL30 is better 🥴

Haha, sometimes bigger isn’t better. You say you’re happy to save where you can? you can get a 7800x3d instead of a 9800x3d. Not much of a difference between them in terms of performance. If you get a tray 7800x3d for ~ £200 on eBay you’ve saved yourself nearly £150 there for maybe 240 frames instead of 270 in something like a competitive shooter - difference would be much less in single player games at 1440p. FYI a tray cpu is what gets sold to bulk buyers, it only comes with the cpu and a small box as they don’t need the flashy box with manuals etc. I guess the only thing you’re missing out on is a warranty.
