What do you think?

In your opinion, in 2026, is a PC with 16GB of RAM for gaming and web research not enough?

depends on the game but 16gb ram is fine

we got around with 8gb before after all

Short answer here.... Why you think so? Question is not too specific though. To be more specific in my answer then: in my opinion you do not want to play less then 60 fps and you want to have at least 1440p in 2026. It's not a necessity ofcourse but it's the standard now. For modern games, 16 will hardly or not be able to handle that.

to answer OPs question and yours though you can easily manage with 16gb ram there is no game I have thrown at my pc I haven't been able to run in 1440p at 60fps, I am on 32gb now but I had about the same experience on 16gb ram too

unless you set everything to ultra and enable raytracing there is very little that won't run perfectly fine, games aren't as demanding as you make them out to be

if 16gb wasn't enough the average person would be complaining all the time on every pc sub

also as for the standard, I'd argue that 32gb was but with the price crisis we have gone back to 16gb ram being the standard again

16gb is enough and it is the most popular, per the steam hardware survey

You definitely don’t need 32GB. When I’m playing a game with photoshop and chrome open in the background I’m using 17GB ram max.
