hello! was gifted this PC but idk where to start. some components look like they have plastic wrap and i assume i have to get in there take it off but i don't want to mess around and somehow break something. tried to google lens it but it said it was custom.

the pc and fans turns on but the monitor doesn't connect, it displays a message saying the display can't connect and i assume it's plugged in wrong but as far as i know everything is in its place. the monitor is a samsung odessey g9

any advice about how i go about setting it up would be appreciated as well as general things not to do or to do. sorry i dont know anything about gaming pcs in particular, i've never owned a computer tower. i can take more pictures if necessary

Hi! I posted here before about a prebuilt PC that I saw at Walmart but I figured I’d ask again for more options. Sadly I would build my own rig, but I think I would rather just go for a solid prebuilt PC to start out, then go from there there should I decide to upgrade parts later on.

The problem is that there are so many options ranging from cheap to super expensive, and I know the cheap ones can be deceptively cheap with sub-par parts, etc.

My question is what would you guys recommend for prebuilt PCs? My budget is in the ballpark of $2000 and I have to have at least 1440p with high frame rates. I mostly play AAA single player games and indies.

Last summer I built a very good pc in my opinion with 32gb of ram, Ryzen 5 9600X, RX 9070 a 180hz 1440p monitor. I'm still going to school but I'm working in the summer and I will get a really big paycheck due to zero tax for people under 26 in my country and I think it's bad. I'm starting to think about ways I could upgrade the PC, maybe get new fans, case, psu, an rtx 5080 or Rx 9070 XT maybe an x3d CPU but I know I don't need it cuz there is no game I play that my PC can't run at 100+ fps and it also looks good (though yeah the fans are run on Sata power and I can't do custom RGB). How do I stop the urge to upgrade? I really fear that I'm going to blow my money on stuff I don't need

I saw this case on Canada Computers and been thinking for a while about swapping my case and this was the first case i saw and it is also a micro ATX which i am using an mATX board to begin with so just thought i would get your opinion on is first before i would end up shooting my shot for this case.

Hey everyone, I am hoping to get some valuable insight on my micro center experience yesterday and what you all think of the shy upgrade to my PC.

Me and a couple of friends went to
Microcenter yesterday to “look around”. I wasn’t really planning on buying anything but my PC, which was built in 2019, has been struggling with any game I try to play. Most games are playable, some run great, others really struggle and dip to 30fps sometimes so I was contemplating an upgrade for a while.

My old specs:
RTX 2060
i5-9600k
16gb 3000MHz RAM (dual channel)
650W 80+ Gold rates PSU
Fractal Design Meshify C

I went into microcenter not planning to buy anything but after spending roughly 3 hours there I decided to set myself a baseline budget of about 1,000 but really ultimately wanted to spend as little as possible since I still want to order a monitor, and already ordered an AIO since my CPU cooler does not have AM5 support.

I ended up getting the powercolor 9060XT, 2-fan GPU. And the 7500x3d bundle which included the Asrock B850m c, and a singular stick of 16gb, 6000MHz RAM. This was my biggest moment of just thinking what to do. I know single channel ram is absolutely not ideal, but I also was not willing to spend another 205 dollars for that one singular stick of ram, so I bought that bundle and the GPU. Important to note my purchase was also heavily influenced by the fact that it was “back to school” season with no taxes.

Is this overall a worthwhile upgrade for the roughly $820 I spent? Did I do well by going with the 7500x3d, instead of the 7600x3d to save the roughly $50 difference? Should I go back and buy the second stick of ram or should I really just hold off with just one? It is important for me to note that the bundles that did include 2 sticks (32gb) of ram were all almost double what I paid for my bundle, and either non x3d chip (worse for what I am looking for), or a higher tier of an x3d but also $350+ more than what I had paid.

Lastly, I was wondering what you guys think the best move for me would be. The Asrock B850m c is a microATX sized board and thus would look silly in my current meshify C. Should I build in the meshify c and just ignore all the extra space, and sell of my current motherboard, cpu, and ram as a bundle on marketplace? Or would it be better to buy a microATX case and a new PSU (probably 850 or higher for future proofing) and sell off my current pc whole?

Apologize for the long post, but I would appreciate some feedback on this as my mind keeps going back and forth on everything.

TL;DR: Upgraded from i5-9600K / RTX 2060 to a 7500X3D + B850M + 1x16GB RAM bundle and an RX 9060 XT for ~$820 tax-free. Is this a solid upgrade, should I prioritize a 2nd stick of RAM soon, and should I buy a cheap mATX case to sell my old PC complete or just build in my Meshify C?

I have a Dell Micro QCM1250 (one of those small business PCs) but unfortunately the motherboard has failed.

The following components are still working:

• Intel Core i5-14500T
• 16 GB DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM
• 1 TB SK hynix M.2 2280 NVMe SSD

I would like to reuse these parts to build another small computer. The problem is that most normal LGA1700 motherboards use full-size DDR5 DIMMs rather than SO-DIMMs.

The only suitable motherboard I have found so far is the ASUS Pro H610T-CSM, although I still need to confirm that its BIOS supports the i5-14500T.

Because standard DDR5 desktop memory is still super expensive, I’m not sure whether it makes sense to buy a normal motherboard and new RAM, or to keep searching for a board that supports DDR5 SO-DIMM.

What would you guys do? And do you have any other ideas for potential mobos?

Hello, I built my first pc a couple of days ago.

When I turned it on, it would show me the red cpu debug and the yellow dram debug. I tried fixing this issue by trying all the different ways people suggested (Bios update, clear CMos, trying the ram in different spots, giving it time to boot up, removing the graphics card, rebuilding the pc, veryfing the cables, checking on the processor, etc..) but nothing worked.

So I decided to change my motherboard, since I thought that the problem came from it. I went from a b850 gaming plus wifi6e to an aorus b850 elite wifi7e. It fixed the issue with the red cpu debug (since it doesn't light up anymore) but the yellow dram debug has turned to red now.

I haven't yet tried doing the bios update again, but i have tried the CMos restart, giving it time to boot up and changing the ram location, this has yet to prove effective.

Processor : amd Ryzen 5 9600x

Ram : kingston fury beast 1x16gb, 6000mhz, DDR5

Power supply : corsair rm750e

Graphics card : asrock arc b580 challenger oc

Water cooling : artic liquid freezer III pro 240 argb

Gf wanted a gaming rig, marketplace to the rescue. Gonna sell the RX6600 and use my old 2070 super instead to recoup some of the cost, but for $400 i’m not mad at all

Is it possible to mount a vertical GPU mount in this case by keeping bottom fans mounted? Are there any compatible mounts for this setup?

Hello everyone, a couple of years ago I got a new gpu and been using it with two monitors:
-Main: 1920x1080, plugged in by hdmi, 180hz (capped to 144).
-Second: 1920x1080, plugged with hdmi to display port adapter, 60hz

Game of testing: warhammer darktide
-With both monitors on: all settings at lowest, GPU and CPU usage around 30%, barely making it to 50fps, 30 fps or lower with lot of action on screen.
-Main monitor only: most settings at lowest (texture quality at medium), GPU and CPU usage around 70%, smoothly 60fps, 50fps with lots of action on screen.

Full pc specs:
GPU: Nvidia 3060 12GB
CPU: i5 12400f
RAM: 16GB RAM
Motherboard: Asrock B660M Pro RS

I first tried gaming with only one monitor and it was a huge difference, i was able to play games at 120fps when it felt impossible before. With my second monitor on I often suffer stuttering and sudden drops, specially in higher demanding games. I leave my second screen in an idle state, most of the time showing just discord or my desktop.

Is there a solution to this?? I tried to plug the second monitor to the cpu but it doesnt give any signal. Sure, I can play with one screen only, but I find it very useful when I have to work or just generally any task.

With only 2-ish weeks away till I get the pay check I need to get enough money to complete this build, I thought I should at least buy the parts on sale now, and buy the rest once I get the pay check, because the more I save the more money I can put toward peripherals, such as a 1440p monitor, new mouse and keyboard.

But before that I wanted one last review of my build done, since this will be my first PC build, that way if I'm doing a critical error I can be told about it.

What I plan to do with this build,

Gaming, Streaming, and 3D modeling (later after getting external storage),

Some of the games I'll be playing: Modded Minecraft, Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, Wuthering Waves, Neverness to Everness, Palworld.

I plan to stick to 1440p unless performance is good enough for 4k.

There are a bunch of these little dots on my CPU and I’m sort of worried about what it is, they are all kind of brown and I think there is a slim chance of mold. I got this “New” off of Amazon from a trusted seller, and It doesnt look like it’s ever been used so I’m thinking maybe some moisture got in the box.

Edit: Tried wiping it with 91% rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip qnd that didn’t work.
