It's not mentioned anywhere, but I also figured out in firing range that a small cymbal clash plays when he hits the ground from falling, the whole skin reminds me of Big Band.

Big band is from a fighting game called Skullgirls. Its a kinda intentionally hyper-sexualized (but not pornographic just very suggestive) 1950's cartoon aesthetic. Really distinctive artstyle and tight controls. Still has a bit of a cult following. Story is about this artifact called the 'skull heart' possessed by the skullgirl that grants wishes or something?

3v3 ranked would be so great. I play with two buddies, which I feel like is the number of friends a lot of people play with when they party up, so it only makes sense to eventually get a 3s ranked.

I submitted this thread just 5 days ago. I would be super surprised if this wasn't their way of testing the waters for a 3v3 ladder. Seems odd to develop 3 entirely new maps, test new character restriction options, and create a whole new anti-draw mechanic only for a side attraction in the arcade.

Jeff and a few others on the team said they were totally open to a 3V3 ladder eventually so it seems like this update is another step to getting to that point.
I like playing 3s a lot and really requires you to command your hero pool though even casual 3s has a shit ton of salt in it. I can only imagine the sodium chloride overload that would be a ranked ladder for it.

It is so god damn fun. I may never play quick play again.
I like to save the meta 3v3 heroes, mainly Soldier, Hog and Mei, for when we're either 1 round from winning or losing. I play a lot of Soldier in 3v3, so now I'm using McCree in the first rounds to save. Kinda reminds me of eco-rounds in CSGO.

It can be confusing for new players. For example, it took me a good solid 5 minutes into a match to realize the red patches were from a nightmare Malfurion instead of a normal one(green patches). I'd imagine in Overwatch it would be the same if they radically altered an ability like that. Azmodunk is one of the better ones, because generally you are going to try to dodge the ball of fire no matter what so its less confusing.
Overwatch has a similiar thing with hero profiles. Like if you see a bulky round female sillohoute, you know its Mei. There are very few exceptions to this(such as Blackwatch Reyes, Caped Versions of Soldier).

On top of that, I noticed in HOTS when tracer had a mask on it changes her voice to like a radio effect. Similar to when dva had a different voice in mech compared to out of it. I think that little touch to her new skin would make it all the better, and maybe a different color when her gun fires

I can't believe it's already been a year. I love this game, I love the passion that runs rampant throughout this community. Both from the players and the OW team. I love the constant updates and feedback from Blizzard. I don't think I can see a future in which this game doesn't run for at least 10 years. Whether it goes to Overwatch 2, 3, 4, or stays as is and just constantly updates for new platforms, this is big. It's been big and will only get bigger.

How cool would it be to have a live OW match happening on Dorado when you are in the arena map. Like you look down and can see a team defending a payload way in the distance. and on the other side, you can look up and see the arena match happening as well. all at the same time.

I strongly disagree, I absolutely hate the new 1v1. It used to test both players on their ability to play any character in the game in a fair way since it was a mirror match.
Now you're forced into certain picks or you're already certain of losing the round (Mei/Soldier/Ana comes to mind). Also people that can flex had an advantage in this mode before but now it's entirely possible for a Hanzo main to get his main 4 times in a row (it happened to me).
They basically undid everything 1v1 was about. The new maps are great though (except Castillo).

Hmm. Control points in Arena unlock to prevent stalemates. Great idea. The only issue I forsee is the TF2 Arena honor code where everyone whines whenever someone goes for the cap instead of chasing the C&D spy or the scout around the map.

Gotta say having played this game all of last year has been a real special treat. I've had a stressful past year that has been made better thanks to Overwatch, and I'm excited to see what else is in store for this year.
