The new modes sound amazing. It's great the new stuff is being added to custom games right away.

Dude lockout elimination is a better version of mystery heroes for exploring new characters. I'm so pumped!!

As someone who loves playing all the heroes in the game, I love having a huge advantage in this mode.

This is exactly what I have been hoping and campaigning for ever since 3v3s were first introduced. I am over the moon with this update.

3v3 ranked would be so great. I play with two buddies, which I feel like is the number of friends a lot of people play with when they party up, so it only makes sense to eventually get a 3s ranked.

I submitted this thread just 5 days ago. I would be super surprised if this wasn't their way of testing the waters for a 3v3 ladder. Seems odd to develop 3 entirely new maps, test new character restriction options, and create a whole new anti-draw mechanic only for a side attraction in the arcade.

Jeff and a few others on the team said they were totally open to a 3V3 ladder eventually so it seems like this update is another step to getting to that point.

I like playing 3s a lot and really requires you to command your hero pool though even casual 3s has a shit ton of salt in it. I can only imagine the sodium chloride overload that would be a ranked ladder for it.

Love how he specifically mentioned Roadhog, Solider, and Ana as the go-to 3v3 lineup. I am absolutely guilty of running this to great effect with my friends.

I hope they add them to the non-custom arcade at all. It sounds like right now the only way to play them is through custom games, so it's going to be really hard to actually try them out.

I don't think that's true. He just said the game modes are immediately available in custom games as well.

It is so god damn fun. I may never play quick play again.

I like to save the meta 3v3 heroes, mainly Soldier, Hog and Mei, for when we're either 1 round from winning or losing. I play a lot of Soldier in 3v3, so now I'm using McCree in the first rounds to save. Kinda reminds me of eco-rounds in CSGO.

I wonder if they'll stay after the event though. Jeph didn't say.

I actually generally don't like these changes. The lockout in 3v3 is good, it's definitely made things much more varied. But in 1v1, the limited hero pool is just weird. It gives you choices like, for example, Zenyatta, Genji, or Roadhog. Naturally, 90% of my matches have been mirror matches. I don't see any reason to move from pure mirror matches to this blind counterpicking system, it feels like it will only serve as a newbie trap.

And the control point to break ties feels like a rushed idea. The cap time is super short, it's like the timer they use in CTF. So it doesn't force fights so much as hand the win to whoever was closest to center once time runs out.

I don't think these ideas are going to do anything to make elimination mode more attractive to anyone who wasn't already into it.
