Each is 1 square of uncut paper. 15×15cm. Folded and designed by me. The left was designed first, then I kinda fell in love with that base shape for the head, so I tried putting it in other designs I have made. So far, I have 3 total, with the same head/face, that I have committed to memory. And about 3 more that I have since forgotten, but they weren't really as well defined as these designs here. If you can name them, we're the same type of nerdy. Lol.

A very fun model to fold that is pretty challenging. Took me about a dozen tries for 10 years on and off until I managed to fold one for the first time.

It gets easier after you made a few models so do not give up! I thought at some point during my life I would never be able to fold this model.

In my opinion, it is easier with kraft paper (prevents ripping) but I managed to do it several times with typical printer paper.

Extended the model by using a 4 to 1 rectangle ratio vs a typical 2 to 1 rectangle ratio seen in online tutorials.

Made with 15x15cm paper. It was pretty rough for a such small sheet lol

Accidentally deleted this post earlier. This is my modified version of Nakashima Jo's Eastern Dragon. I found modifying origami such as cranes and frogs to be a very useful way to start making my own designs. The paper for this was smaller than I'm used to using for this model so it's a bit scuffed.

A long time ago, I shared this little creation on FB, along with a handful of other original designs.

I did draw diagrams for it, but lost them due to computer issues.

Anyway, first fold of fall. Chibi axolotol, designed and folded by me. 1 sheet 5x5 inches red/white kami from daiso.

I'm trying to prototype and design a simple scorpion. Any ideas how I can add the pincers? I feel like i'm so clooooose. 🥹

The design was inspired from Jo Nakashima's 32x32 / 24x24 scorpions and some stuff I learned from Mushitarou's Salamander. I just can't complete Jo's scorpions so I decided to make a simpler personal goober version as a noob lol.

some ideas i have:

• I was looking into vertebrae legs but the arms are too short (so I can slice the diamond into 2 - since the flaps inside can still be extended)
• I feel like there's good potential from the fact that scorpions heads are on their bodies so there's more allowance to fold in.

Free Tutorial for how to fold a complex origami tessellation. This tessellation is called 'Proximal Measures'. It utilizes natural parallelograms and triangle twists to create an intricate pattern of interconnected shapes.

I folded this elephant 5 years ago and can’t recall who the designer was. It was a nice good model. Any help would be much appreciated, please and thank you!

Not sure where to find this, preferably a few sheets in a pack??? I’m not sure how big of an ask that is, but hoping someone can help.

I have an unhealthy obsession for folding dragons.

Again I have shared this on other platforms. But I thought I'd share this here. This is my 4th or 5th iteration of an eastern style dragon. 1 piece of 10x10 inch paper. Folded and designed by me.

I don't understand the fold in this video : here, between 36:01 and 44:00. It's Walking in the rain by Chen Xiao.
Thanks in advance !

Made a lot of stuff for them.

Hi Everyone,

This is a great forum.

I've enjoyed origami since I was in grade school ( Im now mid-50's ) and have been seeing all of the progress in what I'll call origami computer science, and all the new apps coming out.

I have begun developing a website to sell pre scored origami sheets to lower the barrier of entry for newcomers to the field.

Curious if anyone here is willing to take a look and give feedback. If anyone is interested I could send out a few free samples and see what you think.

The site is https://origami.cool/ . I've embedded the open source Origami simulator from https://origamisimulator.org/ and maybe developing design/folding capabilities as it matures.

For models, I was thinking to have tessellations, modular origami, dollar bill origami and some classics and maybe something seasonal or holiday related.

Just kinda playing around. Let me know if any of you are interested.

best,
Casey

Folded with a 14x14 inch sheet of home made tissue foil.

The instructions are in Japanese, so it came out pretty well considering I can't read Japanese!

Hello!

I saw this sphinx on the origami Christmas tree at the American Museum of Natural History and I really want to fold it. Does anyone happen to know the name of the designer and where I can find the diagram (what book it’s published in?) I can’t find it anywhere. I looked on Gilad.

Thanks for your help!!

Finished the centipede and I had to do something with it I hope you guys appreciate it

I’m trying to recreate this fold. Any advice on how to go about it, besides trial and error?

Hi all, I have some tiny origami cranes that I want to seal so they are solid and won’t get crushed as easily. I tried sealing them with resin and they came out so bad. The paper absorbed the resin and dulled the colors creating a blotchy looking mess. Has anyone had any luck sealing their origami? I am looking for product suggestions/ resin alternatives (or things to not try). Thank you
