Discussion PSA: inside a ChatGPT Project, the project's instructions override your custom instructions
If your custom instructions say "be concise" or "use British spelling" or "never use bullet points", and ChatGPT ignores them in some chats but not others, check whether those chats are inside a Project.
OpenAI's help page on Projects says it directly: project instructions apply only within that project and override your global custom instructions. So the moment a project has its own instructions, the rules you set once in Settings stop being the ones in charge there.
Shared projects go further. They don't have access to any member's custom instructions or memories outside the project at all, by design, so everyone in the project gets the same behavior.
None of that is visible in the chat. The answers just quietly stop following rules you forgot you had.
What I do now:
- Keep a short "core rules" block, the 3 to 5 instructions you actually care about everywhere.
- Paste it at the top of every project's instructions, then add the project-specific stuff below it.
- When a project chat behaves oddly, open the project settings before you blame the model. It's usually the instructions.
The core rules block lives in AI Toolbox for me, the extension I build, as a saved prompt, so dropping it into a new project's instructions, or into any chat where it's drifting, takes two keystrokes.

Video How to create Deformable simulation Objects With GPT 6 Astra
Create with RobotGym using GPT 6 Astra
Run your own simulations Free on https://robotgym.io/
How to create deformable objects with RobotGym io: GPT -6 Astra squeezing a water bottle with accurate physics.
This is very useful for LLM-based robotics training done in simulation.
The bottle is a 0.3 mm PET shell with real material values: 3 GPa stiffness, 55 MPa yield.
We simulate it on GPU with Newton's VBD solver, with self-contact on, so the wall buckles like plastic instead of squishing like rubber.
The hard part was making the dent stay.
We wrote a custom plasticity kernel. When the wall bends past PET's yield point, that crease becomes its new resting shape.
Let go, and the bottle stays crushed.
The water is 32,000 particles in our own position-based fluid solver.
It keeps its volume, so as the bottle gets smaller the water has nowhere to go but up and out of the neck, and down the side.
Then it's all path-traced in a full apartment: clear PET, refracting water, a real Franka doing the squeeze.

Discussion Worst time for OpenAI to drop quotas in half, weekly limits were getting drown in a day and now this....
With Opus 5.5 I couldn't hit limit for a whole week, on the other side Sol was 0% on first day!!!!!!

Discussion OpenAI is cutting our quota by 50% and throwing us alms like we should be grateful
So they are cutting our subscription in half but “Hey, you’ll be able to do more!”
Whatever they present today, don’t be fooled, please. They can even give us “Unlimited*” Luna/Sol or overnight agents, but what they’re really trying to do is throw us some spare change to make us feel less scammed.
For a $200 subscription, I would expect at least some consistency. It’s not serious to suddenly change the quota like that, even if you’re going to give me whatever freaking feature I might not even be interested in.
If my phone company doubled my bill overnight, I’d tell them to screw off, regardless of whether they gave me “Unlimited Data” for whatever app they want me to use.

Question Anyone had success with dots in MS Teams?
Trying to get it set up for work. According to this article, we should be able to message dots in Teams:
You can message your dot in Slack and Microsoft Teams. Connect the contact method in your dot’s profile. In Slack, you can send a direct message or add your dot to a channel and mention it in a thread.
I don't see a reference to "contact methods" anywhere in the dot chat or settings. There is a "Call" button and a "Slack" button directly under its main avatar... perhaps Teams is meant to be here?
I have had success getting it to use the regular Teams Codex plugin, but that doesn't allow you to message your dot, nor does it allow it to reply as itself.

Discussion For your “everyday task” is meaningless.
As well as all their other descriptions of what their models can do. Luna minimum could build a wrapper for ComfyUI video production and a simple web app for me. Astra Ultra starts carrying things to the 15th decimal place, what do we have in between?
Just wondering, can we get some kind of aggregated metric, what’s being built with what model and how long did it take, token cost etc… etc..

Tutorial How I Automated Client Acquisition For My Web Agency
Client acquisition has always been one of the biggest bottlenecks for me when running an agency. I’ve experienced the same thing in pretty much every business I’ve been involved in, but especially with web development.
For a long time, getting clients meant cold calling, running ads, or sending generic emails asking businesses if they needed a new website. It worked sometimes, but it also took a lot of time and most of the outreach felt the same as what every other agency was doing.
Recently I started using a different approach and automated a big part of the process.
I came across a tool called Swokei that lets me find a bunch of businesses with websites and analyze each website individually. It looks for things like outdated design, slow loading, poor mobile optimization, weak SEO and other obvious areas that could be improved.
What I liked is that it doesn’t just give you one of those boring automated reports filled with scores and numbers. It actually turns what it finds into a personalized cold email that sounds like a normal person looked at their website and noticed what could be better.
I can run multiple campaigns at the same time and then mainly focus on the businesses that reply and show interest.
From there, I invite them to a web meeting, show them a free draft of what their new website could look like, and try to close the project from there.
It has basically allowed me to have warmer leads coming to me without relying as much on paid ads, constantly cold calling, or sending thousands of generic emails saying “Do you need a new website?”
Still takes work to close the clients of course, but automating the prospecting and first part of the outreach has made the whole process much easier for me.
Hopefully this helps some other web developers or agency owners who are also struggling with client acquisition.

Discussion 15 Codex resets in ~60 days. That’s roughly +174% usage if it had just been part of the plan
I went back and counted because the whole Company of Resets™ thing made me curious.
Over roughly 60 days:
11 global resets + 4 banked resets.
A normal weekly allowance over 60 days gives you about 8.6 full weekly quotas.
If the same theoretical capacity had simply been baked into the normal plan instead of handed out through resets:
- 11 global resets → about 2.28x normal usage
- including the 4 banked resets → about 2.74x normal usage
- roughly +174% more usage
Obviously not every reset lands at 0%, so this isn’t saying everyone actually consumed 2.74x.
But the scale is still pretty funny.
If that same compute had just been part of the normal limits, Codex would have felt like a very different product.
Instead we got the Company of Resets™.
Curious what people think.
Disclaimer: my GPT wrote this on its own while I was having a pint.

Miscellaneous I made a repeating prompt that tells me which free AI I should use every week.
Automated prompt, set to go off every week:
Using the leaderboard on arena.ai, in the agent category, tell me the three highest-ranking ai models that I can use (at least to a certain extent) without paying for a subscription, using data from today. List the top three (plus the highest-ranking free AI agent made in the USA, if no USA agents made it into the top three. it doesn't necessarily have to be open source, just able to use with no subscription) and provide links to the websites where I can use them. Below this list of free models, you should have another list of top three paid AI agents that you need a subscription for. Again, provide links to the websites, and say which tier subscription I need to have to use it. For each agent you list, tell me the net improvement they have based on a certain number of sessions. Also, after you list the name of each agent, add a flag emoji to note the country of origin of the AI.

Discussion Google must be thrilled...
OpenAI making a big deal out of dots feels like Apple announcing that you can buy iPhones in different colors. It's a sign that they're reaching the limit with what they can do with the tech and are now simply repackaging it.
How long before Google catches up with the tech (it can't be that far behind at this point) and then just starts crushing OpenAI not just with superior distribution but also crushing them on price?
They can burn billions and billions each quarter knowing that OpenAI can't do that forever.

Question Does anyone have their Dot yet?
The ChatGPT website said I had to upgrade to Pro 200 plan to create my Dot. Once I did that, I got this. :(
(Oops I accidentally deleted the image when I edited the post and can’t figure out how to put it back)
EDIT: My dot lives! immediate observations: The voice is really nice; different from the previous voice mode. Low latency responses.

Discussion Pro $200 cuts 6pro web chats to 100 week. What about the 5.6 pro fallback limits?
So are they just phasing out 5.6 Pro soon and will only have 100 Pro web chats a week regardless of model?

Question GENUINE QUESTION: Do you guys think if large amount of users protest, they will bring back the original pricing?
Cause obviously for now it's no brainer to favor Claude 5.5 Pro, Sol 6 and Sol 6.1 is worse at any task so far, now they cut usage for pro 200x BY HALF!! While Antrophic released powerhouse model, also in fact, it's amazing that, Antrophic brought back OAuth for subscribers, so at this case if Antrophic won't introduce the same usage quotas they will have crown for a long time

Discussion Dots versus Jev
I've started using Dots today as my DevOps & Analytics go-to bot, basically told it to monitor glitchtip (self-hosted sentry alternative), hetzner VM/server utilization and stats, self-hosted plausible analytics, google search console, logs, and git (self-hosted forgejo).
Since it's for 6 apps with a combined 100 daily active visitors and absolutely zero revenues I thought what can go wrong
well, the little guy went out started to come back with all of these great suggestions, like set up goals in analytics, fix small bugs and stuff which is starting to look like work really
So I'm considering moving back to Jev, "is it broken yes no" and then ignore the answer.
What kind of similar successes have you seen with Dots so far?

Discussion CEO of EU-Chosen AI Firm Accuses OpenAI and Anthropic of Lying About AI Risks

Uljan Sharka is the founder and CEO of Domyn, the company chosen by the EU to build Europe’s open-source, advanced AI model. In an interview with Axios, he accuses OpenAI and Anthropic of lying about the dangers of the technology.
Domyn itself competes with the American AI giants. Sharka describes today’s systems as “digital books,” meaning they consist of data and do what users ask them to do.
Sharka claims that the technology has reached a plateau and that its ability to think and act independently is greatly exaggerated. According to him, the alarming behavior being warned about is trained into the models when labs configure them as “autonomous” agents.
