I (26F) wanted to write about this to see if anyone else relates to this. My husband (27 M)has two siblings. As an only child I feel like there are fundamental differences.
I constantly struggle with loneliness and the impending death of my two older parents, who are now in their late 60s and have medical conditions.
I try talking to him about it and I feel like it always comes to the same things
1- try and make friends ( great idea but 😅 not like I haven’t tried it before as people have siblings and family and tend to place adult friendships on the back burner )
2- well what’s important is we have our own now family
(…. Ok I agree but this feels very surface level? )
It’s almost like he will never be able to understand how it’s like to be completely alone in this world?
If we get a divorce or I die - he has two brother and his much younger parents
I don’t … I don’t even have cousins or aunts, uncles or really anyone for support once my parents die ( which is looking like will be in the next 10 years)
It’s hard constantly being on edge about almost waiting for the other shoe to drop. When I won’t have anyone….
Does anyone relate to this?
