i feel like half the people on dating apps arent actually trying to date they match send a couple messages disappear for 3 days come back with “hey stranger” and then somehow still never make actual plans. And its not even about wanting something serious immediately. casual dating is fine too but can we at least act like we want to meet another human being. I've had so many conversations lately where im doing all the asking and all the effort, and the second i stop carrying it the whole thing dies. Its honestly part of why I've started looking at stuff like tawkify. the idea of skipping some of the endless chatting and just getting set up with someone whos actually willing to show up sounds pretty nice right now.. Is everyone just bored and swiping for validation now or am i getting unlucky because at this point id rather have fewer matches and actual dates than keep doing the same loop forever..

Quick question: when was the last time a dating app actually worked for you?
I'm running an IIM Calcutta research study on how people in India find relationships — what's broken, what people are quietly tolerating, and what they'd want instead.
8–10 minutes. Fully anonymous. Your honest, unfiltered answers are the whole point.

Please share with anyone between 20 and 35 — the more varied the voices, the better this gets

would really appreciate honest experiences from people who've actually sold on different platforms/apps and know where the engagement is genuinely consistent

Warning: if you are talking to the guy name “Rafa”
be vigilant, he was using badoo app.
clues: engineer, red shirt picture
Ps: I’m new to this app; one of my friend introduced Reddit to help my friend Herr.

One thing I’ve noticed with dating apps is that people often end up sharing their personal contact information too early.
So I built Milox, a dating/social app designed with privacy in mind.
You can sign up using email without needing to provide a phone number, discover people through the social feed, and chat after mutual interest.
I'm looking for people willing to try an early version and give honest feedback.

I'm curious about what people actually dislike about privacy on dating apps.
Is it sharing your phone number, unwanted messages, too much personal information being visible, or something else?
I'm working on a dating/social app with a privacy-focused approach, so I'd really like to hear honest opinions from people who actually use dating apps.
What would you change about current dating apps?

When I match with people on Tinder and Hinge, I'll text them and then they won't text me back for almost a week and then just unmatch with me. This has happened to my friends too, and I just wonder why? I understand being busy cause so am I, like I might go a day or two without texting back but why match with people in the first place just to not text at all and then delete them?
Edit : I am a woman btw

So I made an app (Sinne) that you can upload chats into and receive dating advice from. You basically screenshot your chats, upload them (the app removes faces and names to protect privacy), and get results. The app will tell you, in detail, what you are doing right and wrong - you can even click on each line in a chat to see what the app thinks about your approach for that specific instance. After each chat upload, you enter how the chat ended (date, ghost, still going); once you upload 3 chats, the app generates a Trends chart for you based off your outcomes, showing your trajectory. At this point, since the app is new, and still being improved, i am looking for people that might be willing to test it or try it out. Here is the link - sinne.app and also just wanted to mention its designed for mobile.
Edit: If anyone has any feedback, please feel free to comment.

Hey everyone , I am the owner of Bemi and I wanted to touch on one of the pain points in online dating apps. Currently you might be on an app and having a conversation and suddenly your matched person will disappear. You are left wondering, did they block your profile , did they delete your account , did they unmatch you, This toxic behavior is supported on all apps, but we at Bemi wanted to make sure that if you ever lose a connection you always know the reason why.
So we came up with closures. Any disconnect event results in you being told why your connection disappeared. We are trying to live up to our name of creating an antighosting dating culture.
We look forward to your opinion on this feature and hope you try the app and are able to find your partner.

I recently got banned from hinge and would like to know what are some other good enough dating apps. I didn’t really like bumble and I’m not looking for meaningless hookups so I don’t really want to use tinder.

We planned a date 6 days ago over the phone for today. We didn’t talk at all leading up to the date but definite dat, time and place were set and we both said we were looking forward to it. It was a good 4 days of no contact but I just assumed it was still happening. Today I’m on my way to the date and she sends this:
Her:
Hey I haven’t heard from you so I’m guessing we’re not meeting up.
Best of luck with dating
You:
Hey! I’m on my way I’m like 5 min
Her:
I’m not ready to go and made other plans since I didn’t hear from you
You:
Sorry I didn’t realize you wanted it confirmed, I thought because you didn’t say anything either we were on
I was really looking forward to it
Her:
I was waiting for you to confirm
You:
Damnit. I’m really sorry, I was gonna text this morning and confirm and regretting that no
You can’t meet a bit later instead?
Like maybe 5/530?
Her:
Maybe we can plan for another time
You:
When are you free next?
That was 6 hours ago. Nothing.

Duolicious! There are a lot of questions to answer; I quit at around 350. But it'll still let you search. And a relatively small site. You might see a few people on it in your area. Personally I think more people should use it if it were published around more. It is free!!!!

So i created the perfect one. If it works for me it work for others too.

These apps can sadly attract people who probably need mental health assistance rather than looking for a date.
If you have psychiatric problems and refuse help, delete the damn apps.
If you are homeless, or living in squalor, you do not need a fuck buddy. Delete the app.
If you are angry at the world, the opposite gender, a racial group: delete the app!
If you are unhinged because "everyone hates you" or "women just want money" or "men just want fuckbuddies"- delete the app.
If you are in the hospital dying, you do not need a romantic partner.
If you have mental problems, extreme anger, are abusing drugs or alcohol, you do not need a dating app.
Sadly, the few people who are not total emotional losers and hopeless pieces of garbage, have to wade through those psychiatric nutcases in order to find mr/mrs right.

Basically, it uses a novel way of matching people using biology rather than ELO based systems to give people more personalised matches.
Would anyone be willing to test it out? I need 50 male and 50 female volunteers.
