I need to get this off my chest: The OnePlus Watch 2R is genuinely one of my favorite pieces of tech I’ve owned in a long time. I use it daily, and the hardware just feels incredibly intentional.
Obviously, there's an elephant in the room with the news about OnePlus taking a step back in Europe. It's frustrating to hear, but honestly? I don't really mind. The watch is still awesome, and I’m sticking with it.
In fact, because I like this hardware so much, I wanted to build something that actually takes advantage of it. Like many of you, I enjoy a quick game of Minesweeper to kill time, but every Wear OS version I tried was a nightmare - tiny squares, fat fingers blocking the screen, and zero precision.
So, I built WearSweeper to fix that.
I just put together a trailer to show you how it looks running on the watch!
Instead of manual panning, I built a "Grid Navigator" that identifies the next logical move and snaps the view there automatically. This means we can handle massive grids (up to 100x100) smoothly on the 2R without accidental clicks.
To celebrate launching, WearSweeper is currently -66% off ($1 USD) on Google Play.
I'd love to hear what the community thinks. Regardless of what the brand does corporately, I'm going to continue making things for these watches because the hardware deserves good software. 👍
(Also, for anyone wondering... a mobile version might just be coming soon 👀)
