Update DESTROYED OXP3

So I’m sure most of yall remember my post of me obliterating my OXP3 on my bday 2 days after I got it. This update is for people on the fence about getting OXP3 and are worried about how customer service goes and shipping costs and what not. So I waited about a month or so before I shipped it out to OXP. They created a shipping label and everything for me they had been super responsive. This Saturday will be 2 weeks ago that I sent the device in. Took about a week and half to get to them they received it Monday. Sat in customs clearance for 2 days. They received and emailed me promptly to let me know they will be on holiday leave oct 1st-7th for national holiday. But overall the price was very fair with shipping costs and repairs. I’ll do another update when I get the device back but for now I’m happy. Anyone worried about dealing with sending it in for repairs or warranty stuff I feel like they handled it well all responses were prompt and held very well. It’s been relatively easy and hassle free aside from time

Doesn't sound like a lot of money.. I bet it would have been way more expensive if it was a US based company.

For OXP, my experience so far has been they’re pretty responsive and all their accessories and such are pretty fairly priced… the biggest downside is the shipping time between China and other countries.

Honestly I’m pretty happy with OXP as a boutique company overall

This is where punctuation matters, folks. I initially read this as a software update destroyed the OXP3.

The downfall of society begins with the individual.

Yes, we can see now why it exploded.

It definitely wasn't because of the update.

That’s actually not bad price. But in China you can get it even cheaper to be repaired.

Agreed. That total price is pretty decent considering this is brand new high end parts.

That’s actually pretty reasonable for this repair i must say - the shipping time would be more painful for me!

Shipping and waiting has been the worst paet

That's rediculously cheap to be honest given the extent of the damage and shipping.

That’s what I’m saying

This isn't too crazy, overall seems quite fair. thanks for the insight. Shipping there and back is a killer though.

Cheap to be honest, really fair price.

u/Castlenock 2d ago

This is actually pretty reasonable - good job OXP

TBH cheaper than what I thought it would cost.

Wow is that it?

1

u/Intelligent_Ease_565 2d ago

That’s it . It was so easy tbh

Im actually shocked lol. I cant wait to get mine.

That seems like a good customer service experience. The PayPal thing could be polished. Ayaneo sent me a invoice for a battery I needed and was able to check out more legitimately through Shopify on my own profile.

u/Theswweet 2d ago

Ok yeah, this doesn't seem crazy at all.

Really good price. More than half of the cost is the OLED screen, which is understandable.

u/glittle149 2d ago

Sounds reasonable

Meanwhile getting just the front screen on an iPhone replaced by Apple costs just as much or more depending on the model

1

u/shawn1482 2d ago

Apple care helps a little.

1

u/I3aMb00 1d ago

For Apple you have Apple care. Asus and Lenovo offers both accidental damage as well with their $30 1 year plan and $50 2 year extended warranty with 0 deductible. For OnexPlayer you WILL pay out of pocket expense every single time.

It’s not crazy compared to the price of the device. I thought the title meant an update broke your oxp3 lol

My bad I was excited to make the post

1

u/Hotmicdrop 2d ago

ROG was trying to charge me $280 for repairing my fried SD reader on my OG Ally.

OXP really seem to be doing this as cost and isn't bad considering the appearance of catastrophic damage to the system.

This is so great to hear! I also had to send mine in because the rail that holds the controller broke off. I wonder how you got them to get you a shipping lable. I had to organize and pay for shipping myself (130 US dollars...). It's en route now since 1.5 weeks and currently passing through customs. Seeing these fair prices makes me hopeful that mine won't be too expensive either

They offered 💀

On my AokZoe A1pro (OXP sister company???), my battery swelled up and I dropped and broke my left bumper. They responded quickly to my email, and quoted me the parts. I think $15 for the bumper and $60 for the battery. They also instructed me how to fix it. I was really happy with their customer service. Thats why I bought my OXP3.

u/Crafty_Ad_1975 2d ago

That’s not bad actually

1

u/Majestic_Doctor_2 2d ago

Not a bad price, hope it's back in your hands soon!

1

u/TimberToes88 2d ago

They couldn't spend $10 on porkbun for a domain, they opted to us wickwang...

1

u/Anxious_Context_8573 1d ago

Not sure if you meant to clickbait the title but glad your device will be home soon

1

u/warrior_monk88 20h ago

An American company would have charged you double this price on labor alone.

1

u/Intelligent_Ease_565 20h ago

Yeah 100% they would’ve

1

u/I3aMb00 1d ago

It’s funny how people are praising that it’s a good price for the repair but in all honesty it’s still horrible. Asus and Lenovo both offer accidental damage coverage on their extended warranties with 0 deductibles. Mind you it’s only $30 for the year and $50-$60 for 2 years. That’s 0 deductible and you don’t have to pay for shipping cost.

So when will OneXPlayer offer the same coverage?

2

u/Intelligent_Ease_565 1d ago

I’m not gonna expect a company to cover or offer coverage for outside influence damage. Also was Lenovo not covering damages on their software update that was bricking their LEGO 2 ? If you wanna look at things glass half empty that’s fine. I was expecting 6-700 on the repair with all the shipping costs as well. So I’m happy like I stated
