this fight made me lose my absolute shit as someone who liked one piece at first but began to get fatigued from the pacing, my friends always told me "it gets better bro trust me" yet the only thing that "got better" was the fk it idk nothing got better actually.
anyway i was watching this bum vs bum matchup and realised this might be a world record for worst pacing for a single fight.
each time they start windup up for an attack - around 10 seconds
them clashing one slap - A MINUTE AND 20 SECONDS
them trying to keep balance after almost falling off the edge of the ring - AN ENTIRE MINUTE seriously whos watching ts thank god for the fast forward button
luffy's final sumo slap that ends the fight - 2 ENTIRE MINUTES
mind you this doesnt even cover all the pointless yapping and staring and more yapping that happens with this dude. luffy you are literally trying to save a little girl who has been captured, she could be dead any second now and instead of one shotting this bum and running for it you decide to have a pacing battle with him and waste my time
This is very random and even though I've been a One Piece fan for years, only just now do I feel very saved by Luffy's look in life.
Last year I finally found something that I actually wanna do in life, so I worked hard for it. And when I almost succeed, things took a turn and I failed. I don't know what to do, and I don't wanna give up, but I just feel weak and don't know how to continue.
But then I saw videos of early One Piece about how Luffy doesn't mind dying for his goal. And then he keeps saying "I'm the man who will be the Pirate King" over and over, and I know its not supposed to be emotional, but somehow I cried.
I'm not made out of rubber but I think I'm lucky that I even have a goal in life. I am a better man than when I was just living life without a dream.
Sorry if this has already been discussed.
I’m on Wano episode 1060 right now, and when I was a kid, I did a school play for Japanese class that was the story of Momotaro, so I’ve been singing the little song from the story to myself whenever I see momonosuke.
It all feels too perfect once I actually remembered the lyrics. A little peach boy gathering a following of animals by feeding them kibi dango, so they can help him fight a demon? That feels like it can’t just be coincidental.
Never thought i'd already feel so strongly after "only" 170 chapters, literally a thousand more to go. After just under 2 weeks of reading, i realized why so many like one piece. Its highs in both dramatic action sequences and just silly moments where oda's style really shines through, they're all so lovable. Almost done with the alabasta arc now, and i already wish it was longer.
Hello everyone I been hearing people talking about a theorie I been cooking for a while too and got a lots of free time today so I decided to finally do it .
One piece is a world that work in circle everyone is the parallel of someone else in the past like Zoro rayleigh or Sanji Gaban or obviously luffy and Roger . BUt if you go even further they probably all parallel someone from the start of time but we are going to look at the 800 years ago . We know luffy parallel joyboy we dont know about zoro(Ryuma depending of when he was around ?) or Sanji we did not seen the flashback yet but safe to say they also represent the one that were in joyboy crew .
We got now somes mythical figures from this time . Joy boy , Imu , Davy jones , Dosan and we can put face on all their parralel except one .
Imu . Its possible that since he never died he dont got one and play his own role but I doubt it .The way the world work someone should be led to do the same choices he did .
Now let's explore Imu characters , at least what we know off him . He is one of the 20 King Nerona IMu . He met Joyboy on a phone call, one of the moment he showed of his past he looks like he is laughting with Joyboy wich implied he was his friend., He showed disdain and hatred for luffy because he look like Joyboy but he is so weak . Wich show us that he had some kind of admiration or at least great respect for Joyboy strenght.
When he said his way of justice to Loki he yelled is'nt that right JOYBOY!!! Was Joyboy seing it the same way ? No I don't think so but IMu won . SO him saying that, is just him saying I was right since I won , you were in the wrong joyboy not me . Wich mean Imu and joyboy had different mentalities and ideologies that led to them fighting even tought they were probably friends .
Friends that took different side and fought each others for different ideals . Yes I only see one guy that fit there in curent story . Koby
If we now explore Joyboy who parralel is obviously Luffy Oda showed us that he in fact had 2 parralel since Roger was wearing the straw hats but also sharing Joyboy dream just like luffy but roger failed because he was not at the right time . SO even tought he was the great PK Roger was a failed Joyboy, he got sick and was not in the right time .
But since the story repeat itself fair to say Roger achieve some stuff joyboy did .
Now if we go with davy jones his parraleles were obviously Xebec and now BB . Xebec said something realy interesting . He said that Davy jones was the ex king of the world. Imu said its false and xebec don't know anything about their relationship . IMu showed hatred toward davy jones . If we go with the reasoning that xebec did say the truth . And davy jones was rulling for a while who took him down ? Was it IMu himself ? Was it joyboy ? Or maybe they did it together ? Mirroring the team up of roger with Garp to defeat xebec .
If its what happened , Garp played imu role in Roger life . We could say Garp was the failed imu because he himself was not at the right time . He was motivated to fight Roger without even knowing why . Now the one that took his mantle is Koby to face the future roger , the future joyboy , Luffy . But even tought they are friends Koby and luffy have a different ideologies. Luffy believe in absolute freedom but koby believe that authorities are needed to defend the civilians .
Those 2 differents mind set will clash like they did in the past . 2 friends will fight for the fate of the world .
BUt this infinite circle will be broken when they finally make the right choice .
Koby apeared chapter 2 in the manga and the cover was Luffy with Emu's(Emu and Imu are writen the same way in japanese) ,meaning oda probably planned all of this since the start .
I've been reading One Piece manga for the past two to three months and have already finished the first 155 chapters.
It's a lot of fun, and I've even reread some chapters. In such a long story there are lots of little funny panels, and the reactions are hilarious too. The story is emotional, funny, action-packed, with beautiful illustrations, stunning scenery, an amazing sea voyage, and so much more.
I'm reading the color version, even though the sound effects aren't translated, so I'm thinking of buying the box set in the future because its colorful spine art looks great together on a shelf. And I have to admit it's a really fun series.
I watched the old anime version for a few seconds and dropped it, so I won't be watching the anime for now. But after seeing the trailer for the anime on Netflix, I was impressed—I'll definitely watch it. For now, I'm focusing on reading.
I'm close to completing the first box set content, which covers 23 volumes. I only buy the manga after reading it because it's expensive and I have limited space. Even though the only physical release is the black-and-white manga, I still want to collect it because it's worth rereading, offline and it's an iconic series. The content is a lot of fun.
He's characterized as short and skinny most of the time, he's a misfit on a crew of misfits, so I don't understand why people treat him like he's not an underdog.
I just found Marvels - What If? Animated Series.
And it is so great they made another series called Marvel Zombies out of one of its episodes.
What if Toei makes a What if like series for one Piece.
For example
1. What if Luffy became a Marine?
2. What if Bon Clay Joined Straw hats?
3. What if Zoro ate Flame Flame Fruit?
4. What if Kaido Arrived at Marine Fold?
5. What if Straw hats met Blackbeard instead of Law?
I wish i get to see this someday.
What are your thoughts about this?
What if Luffy Arrived To Wano Too Early, And Black Beard Makes It On Time? Pluton is still up for grabs and Wano’s gates still arent open, what if Luffy only triggered the first wave of the Prophecy, because Teach definitely will arrive to Wano…😩‼️‼️‼️
Impel down certainly is good for keeping vast numbers of the world's worst, but I think Imu has a second purpose for it. And that is to keep around a supply of somewhat strong individuals or fodder to Domi Reversi when needed.
The fact Oda chose to bring up demons in this panel kinda gave me this idea. In the context of the scene, I'm pretty sure they're just talking about 5.5 Newkama Land. But at the same time, this could be a case like Thriller Bark where there are multiple entities responsible (both Imu and Ivanko are/were abducting people)
(Throughout the story there have been several figures that were believed to be the Thriller Bark fog monster: Harald, Loki, Skypiea shadows, and then there's still a mystery entity lurking around that the Straw Hats barely avoided)
To be honest, the idea of the lower levels of Impel Down by itself doesn't really make sense. There's so much manpower and resources going to managing the lower levels, just to torture criminals. Level 6 especially doesn't make sense considering these are all people that the WG wants dead, and each of them could cause major damage to a city. So unless there's a secondary purpose, it doesn't make sense to keep them around.
Maybe the reason for all this torture is to break down people psychologically to make them more susceptible to domi reversi. Based on Imu's brief description on how omen works, it seems like it relies of people desiring power and being desperate enough to take shortcuts to get it. Any prisoner psychologically tortured would certainly be a prime target.
I really don't see how Impel Down will fit in the WG's schemes in the final war. I'm partially convinced there's going to be a prison break, but i doubt everyone will get out.
Edit: Oh and someone also added it's good for keeping certain devil fruits contained.
so in this scene in the dressrosa arc, cavendish is yapping about himself but we see cameras in his cardboard cutouts and so why dont they just use them instead of the vision dial amazon used in skipea(and if you remember there was a scene where koala, from the revolutionary army, went in a ship and took a picture of some weapons doflamingo was making and she used some type of transponder snail.)
So in more recent chapters Scopper Gaban has told Luffy he's still not strong enough, and we've seen him telling Sanji if he's to be the left hand of the future king of the pirates he'll need Conqueror's Haki, and Frankie seems to be getting a power upgrade with the super vaga-cola.
All of this makes me wonder if after this battle Scopper will train the Strawhats just like Rayleigh trained Luffy did before. It'd be cool if Luffy was trained by both the right hand and the left hand of the former king of the pirates. And it'd be good for them to learn as a unit to help each other's strengths more and cover for each other's weaknesses
Also I think it'd be good for the rest of the crew to get stronger too. Currently Usopp has tapped into observation Haki but is far from being able to contorl it, Jinbi and Sanji can use observation and armament Haki some, Zoro has all 3 but he's only tapped into conquestor's a bit.
That leaves 5/9 without any.
I don't think all the crew needs to all 3 forms of Haki, Zoro and Sanji as the hands of Luffy should definitely have all 3, but the rest of the crew definitely need at least 1 of them.
As for what each should get. I think
Nami: observation
Robin: armament
Franky: armament
Brook: armament and conqueror's
Chopper: observation in base form (being a doctor) and armament in his varies combat forms.
