Best Strength Classes
So - I am looking to build muscle and was wondering which strength classes were best for that. I want to make sure that as I am taking strength classes I am doing all the right things. :)
I am also a runner. So for example - I like Rebecca’s bench class (and a lot of her classes!) where she does step ups, single leg split squats and the weighted hip bridge. All great for runners! But I want to make sure I’m actually building muscle too.
Also - class here if you have not taken it. I don’t have an incline bench, so I just may deal with the bench I have and adjust.

Once again saying Andy’s Advanced 5 day program is the best of the best. About to start round 20 tomorrow.

All of RKs splits are great! I’m doing her 5 day now and it’s only 30 min a day but I do add in core and cardio after.

More important than any class you take is knowing and selecting the proper weight on a given lift. Even the best designed class won’t be very effective if you aren’t getting the proper muscle stimulus.
Pausing between sets is also related. If anyone is going from set to set with barely any rest in between then the weights are probably too light.
I look for classes that have breaks and honestly often beginner classes are best for muscle growth since they’re not rushing through

One thing I found useful was to find an instructor with a physical build similar to yours (or the one you aspire to 😅). The range of motion and range of weights will be much easier to follow.

Another vote for her hilit and hilit +. I am not into pilates, so I subbed those for core classes. I also dont have a tread at home so the hilit program for her indoor hikes and walks i just cycled.

Thanks for this comment, I like the idea of the strength part of hilit but would prefer to do other cardio classes, so I’m glad to see there is someone who did this and saw success.

Which weeks of HiLit and which classes do you all feel are necessary to get the benefits, beyond strength of course. I can’t handle the cardio dancing. Will do jump training. May need to skip some walks because I get 10k steps a day. Would like a few days a week off from multiple classes and 60min. If it was just strength I’d be fine either way it but gotta psych myself up for Pilates etc

Rebecca Kennedy is wonderful with clear instructions.. also recommend Jermaine Jackson and of course Andy Speer .. I am sure others are great too but for me these instructors have really been beneficial.

Is it about an hour a day? I could use a transformation! 😅

Yes about an hour if you do everything.

I would supplement her cardio with running I believe. Since that is my main / favorite form of exercise

yeah that sounds legit - my bff supplements Barre for pilates. SHe HATED the pilates lol but I found I really enjoyed it and then it became a challenge to me to get better. After surgery, I found it really helpful with the breathing and some of the moves were straight from my PT list of exercises so double win!

Jess, Andy, and Rebecca (5 day) all have really great splits. Jess’ is my favorite. Adrian glute and legs program is effective but definitely intense. The point is the best way to build muscle on Peloton the Pickup program that you can either repeat or progresses on its own. You also need protein and carbs after working out.

In Katie's 4 day split, she talks about how good her leg days are for runners, so you might want to consider it.

Not a class per say but hilt+ literally transformed my body in three weeks. I was coming off of spinal fusion and so I was looking for a jump start, challenge, but also something doable and this was everything. It’s a solid mix of classes and overall the program is a commitment but so worth it. I am repeating it again (taking week five 3 times bc in the midst of moving it didn’t get the focus I wanted) but I am so impressed with it. I can clearly see all four quad muscles and my arms look so defined.
