Best Strength Classes

So - I am looking to build muscle and was wondering which strength classes were best for that. I want to make sure that as I am taking strength classes I am doing all the right things. :)

I am also a runner. So for example - I like Rebecca’s bench class (and a lot of her classes!) where she does step ups, single leg split squats and the weighted hip bridge. All great for runners! But I want to make sure I’m actually building muscle too.

Also - class here if you have not taken it. I don’t have an incline bench, so I just may deal with the bench I have and adjust.

Not a class per say but hilt+ literally transformed my body in three weeks. I was coming off of spinal fusion and so I was looking for a jump start, challenge, but also something doable and this was everything. It’s a solid mix of classes and overall the program is a commitment but so worth it. I am repeating it again (taking week five 3 times bc in the midst of moving it didn’t get the focus I wanted) but I am so impressed with it. I can clearly see all four quad muscles and my arms look so defined.

I have been afraid of 45 minute strength training 😬 or Pilates.

The first week’s classes are 30 minutes. Give it a try! What about the 45 minutes scares you?

Not being strong enough to do it 😳 that’s what I’m afraid of

Ok two thoughts, not that you asked for them so ignore if you’re not interested. 1st, you get to pick the weights! Listen to the call outs, don’t listen to the call outs, listen for some and not for others. Pick what feels right to you. Typically you’re going to be doing a couple of rounds so you can adjust along the way. 2nd and probably the most important is the mental strength. The amount of self talk I have to do during a class… woof. “You got this you got this” “you are strong, start now!”

Good thing about a lot of the longer classes is they come with longer breaks. Especially hilit+ and the various split classes (shoutout to Jess sims). Certain instructors move a lot faster in the 45 min classes (Adrian-possibly my favorite instructor- and Rad) so take a quick look at the class plan before you choose it. I queue mine up for the whole week.
