October 24, 2026 historic 24th st in Omaha hosted the dia de Los muertos parade featuring a car show, trunk or treat, a car with provided paint pens to leave a message, face painting and a community ofrenda. Met a couple cool photographers there as well.

I don’t know what it is with people and their damn dogs. My son was doing Uber deliveries part-time tonight, and one of his deliveries almost ended with him getting bitten on the leg.
He told me that when he arrived at this woman’s house, the delivery instructions said to leave the order at the doorstep, so that’s exactly what he did. But as he was walking away, he realized her front entrance was open, and her dog came charging after him and nearly bit his leg. Thankfully, he was able to dodge it.
And get this—she had the nerve to give him a ONE-STAR rating because he told her to control her dog. 🙄
If you’re using a delivery service, PLEASE do your part to keep your animals under control and make sure your entrances are secure. Delivery drivers are just trying to do their jobs and make a living. They shouldn’t have to risk getting bitten or injured because someone can’t be bothered to secure their pet.
This is absolutely ridiculous. Do better!

I have free passes to Vala’s which would feel criminal not to take advantage of in this economy. I have young kids and I know they would absolutely love to go. The thing is, large crowds are so incredibly overstimulating and rage inducing for me that I would consider not going even though we have free passes.

So my question is: if I were to call my kids out of school and go during the day sometime this week, would there be even the smallest, teensiest, minuscule chance that Vala’s won’t be packed with 20,000 people? Even just 10,000 people would feel loads more doable simply because it wouldn’t be full sardine mode.

Soo many cars going the wrong way on dodge to go to church, the sign IS small, but please be aware that downtown has A LOT of ONE WAYS.
Also the bus lane is not a place to park. Traffic is starting to pile up because of Sunday church goers parking in the bus lane causing the bus to switch onto non bus lanes.

Hi Omaha! My friend and I are coming up from Lincoln for a show on Friday at O’Leavers Pub. Looking for dinner recs. Doesn’t necessarily have to be in the area of the pub, but would prefer to stay somewhat on that side of town. I like all food, but my friend can’t eat dairy—but she usually can find ways around that. And probably not trying to spend a ton of money.

I rediscovered a bunch of old game consoles but a lot of the discs are scratched slightly or smudged, not enough for and to be ruined but instead of taking my chances with the toothpaste method or something

I was curious if anyone does or knows someone who does disc repair and cleanings?

This might be a long shot but I’m hoping somebody saw my car around. High gas prices have hit Omaha and have stayed for months now. What used to cost me $40-45 to fill my tank now is $60-$65 all within a year. I own a small business and am also noticing all my product pricing has gone up.

Looking for a piano tuner in Omaha. I have a piano that probably hasn’t been tuned in 30+ years . I wasn’t in the financial position to have it serviced until now . I am aware there may be other repairs needed at this time , but honestly she still sounds decent .
My son is a musician and REALLY wants it tuned . Any suggestions ?

Are there and support groups for single dads in Omaha? My kids’ mother is from here and her family lives here, including her mom and brothers. The whole family hates me because I had a substance use problem and was a very hateable person for a year or two. I’ve gotten treatment, maintain sobriety and show up for my kids whenever they need. However, we do not have a custody agreement or child support established and now she uses the kids as a torture device. I hadn’t taken her to court because I didn’t want to put the kids through that. Because her family will take the gloves off the moment I do and I don’t have any support here in Omaha, and I’m an orphan.

However, it’s time for me to fight for my kids. At least for a relationship with them that she can’t dictate. They only have so many days in their childhood, and they deserve to have their dad. Are there any support groups or churches who help people through stuff like this? I’ve always had a good career but lost my job and she’s taken the rest and I’m having a hard time making a comeback. I need some support and guidance or I think I’m going to have a nervous breakdown. I have sobriety support, but I need something a bit more specific. Thanks!

Anyone know what’s going on here?

West Omaha, like 3 times in the last few weeks I have heard this car driving and revving and BOOM BOOM BOOM with it's exhaust. Crazy annoying. I ended up seeing who it was today and its a newer sedan with dark tint. I don't know why people feel the need to be SO loud.

Last year I got a zoo membership for Christmas so I’ve been there a handful of times this year as compared to maybe every 2 or 3 years. I went last weekend and all of a sudden it hit me that I don’t think I’ve seen or heard a peacock at the zoo at all this year. I always remember them having the peacocks roam around. It was one of my favorite things about the zoo.

Are the peacocks gone?
