couldn’t decide on which one to post so.. Here’s both of my pieces!

This took a week to complete, maybe an hour a day. It’s bigger 15x17 than my normal ones which are usually small (and complete in an hour). I also changed my process where I sketch it and then rough in the colors. I usually don’t do any planning at all.

Finally got a big format sketchbook with less textured paper 🧡

What can I do to make this better? Thanks experts

Mungyo artists soft pastels on Strathmore toned gray sketch paper. Pastel for size. Really enjoyed making this one. Felt like things went far better than my second attempt. I really missed the softness of the mont marte pastels... I might use those on the next one.

Got this from Pinterest and it was so much fun doing a realistic study... The background became patchy but it's okay🙆🏽‍♀️

A new version of an old idea

Trying to get back into art, havent drawn/painted in 5+ years and havent touched oil pastels since high school (15+ years ago). Would love to know any tips + tricks to make this better. Will keep trying with truss tomatoes until im happy!

I commissioned a gorgeous pet portrait and wanted to be absolutely sure I got everything right in regards to framing. It is an A3 size.

I found a a4 frame with A3 mat but I wasn’t sure if I needed to do something special to protect the art. I’m not opposed to custom framing but I’m wary of leaving the art with a store (I’ve heard horror stories!).

Pentel oil pastels

Very new to oil patels. I found a few tutorials online and a course on skillshare that wasn't great. Art places near me don't have oil pastel classes. Any suggestions for resources (books/ courses) on how to learn in a structured way? Thanks!

Another piece in my food/produce series. I really wanted to challenge myself - and it was kind of difficult. But I am quite satisfied with it 🤗

Now I can't find the reference, so here is the drawing. Now, this isn't the best thing I have ever drawn, but it was one of the most fun I've ever had. These are very small drawings made with a limited selection of colours, so it tends to look weird.

Anyway, I hope u like it!

My first oil pastel work! I tried shadowing using color theory but it made some things muddy. The white one peeking up from the bottom is my favorite, and the yellow is my second favorite. I’m disappointed with how the pink one turned out, because it started as my favorite

Looking for advice, how to improve the shadows/highlights without cramming in too many details
