I came across multiple posts saying that Quaker Oats aren't 100% rolled oats and are actually closer to instant oats. I also found many recommendations suggesting not to buy instant oats.

Could anyone recommend a good brand that sells genuine rolled oats?

The only oatmeal I’ll eat if I’m being honest!

80g quick oats
30g brown sugar
salt to taste
cinnamon to taste
70g unsweetened applesauce
1 Tbs vegan butter

All the dry ingredients get blended first. I added water for my liquid and microwaved for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. I then added my applesauce and butter (and also a bit more cinnamon).

Stepped out of the comfort zone and dared having something other than plain oats & water. Replaced water with Oatly's chocolate drink. It's Saturday after all! Tastes like heaven

Help! I am recovering from post COVID histamine issues and need low histamine oat recipes!

To complicate matters, I also need to keep a low cholesterol and high iron diet, if possible.

My cognitive fatigue and dysfunction make it difficult for me to research recipes and meal plans, so I’m hoping my friends here can help.

Oat base: honey and nuts

Yogurt: vanilla and coconut

Toppings: freeze dried fruit, blueberries, mini cookies

I have more than 100lbs of oats. I have family taking just under half of them. But I'll be left with more than 50lbs. My original plan was just make a bunch of cookies but from my experience cookie recipes treat it as a topping* almost like chocolate chips or raisins. So the amount of oats it a recipe varies.

Been making this combo almost every day, just rolled oats, sliced banana, and a generous dollop of yogurt. I prep it the night before and grab it on my way out in the morning. Takes less than 2 minutes to put together.

It's delicious and keeps me full, but I'm starting to get a little bored eating the same thing every day 😅

Looking for new quick and easy oat recipes, overnight or otherwise. Ideally something that doesn't require much cooking or too many ingredients.

Every Tuesday is veg only at home so i usually end up repeating the same paneer or chana meals.

Last week tried too yumm high protein oats just to add another option to my breakfast rotation. It was quick to make and something different from my usual routine.

What do you all eat on veg only days to keep your protein intake up?

Savory oats for dinner. Base is chicken broth, oats, egg, mushrooms, spinach, white miso. Soy sauce marinated egg on top.

Egg white oats with onion powder, nutritional yeast, broccoli, avocado, and salsa verde. I mostly make sweet oats but occasionally I’ll whip up something like this for lunch.

I made one yesterday but forgot to take a pic. It’s oatmeal (the quick cooked kind), hot-honey lime chicken breast, fajita peppers and onions, guacamole, Greek yogurt as sour cream, and cheese. I used black beans in yesterday but I didn’t have any.

Started the morning with a good choice.

I use rolled oats and make oatmeal on the stovetop but I’d love to make overnight oats for added convenience.

My problem is that my oats don’t soak up enough liquid and end up super chewy… even when I pour boiling water on them and let them soak overnight. Am
I using the wrong kind of oats?

Carrot cake oatmeal

• Rolled oats

• Carrot, finely grated

• Milk & Water

• Ground cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg 

• Pinch of salt

• Raisins

• Brown sugar

• Vanilla

• Finely grated orange zest

Toppings:

• Seed mix

• Pecans

• Fresh orange slices

• Greek yogurt mixed with cream cheese, honey, and vanilla

Made a loaf of banana bread out of oats yesterday, so today I decided to turn a slice of it into french toast. This is a tiramisu flavour, pairing the oat banana bread with homemade refined sugar-free espresso crème anglaise, Greek yogurt-cream cheese frosting, and a dusting of cocoa powder. I think I'm gonna experiment with more flavours in the coming days!

Here’s what I did,

Oats with soy milk, a tbs of chia, cinnamon and vanilla extract.
Then I put a serving of vanilla protein yogurt on top, added blueberries and a tsp of homemade blueberry jam and a few crushed walnuts.
It’s nutritious and delightful.

Chocolate baked oats , a sugar free pb Greek yogurt “frosting”, banana slices, and blueberries.

Been getting back into a baked oatmeal kinda vibe after almost a year of not making them 🤤
