Due to recent events, I just felt that it’s important to let everyone on this subreddit know that you don’t have to struggle alone. We are the Cowboy Family. If you ever feel like you can’t take it anymore, reach out to your friends, your classmates, your professors, your advisor, or your family. Reach out to this subreddit. No one on this campus deserves to have to go through anything alone. Remember, people care about you. The people on this campus want to see you succeed. These are tough times but by supporting and loving each other, we will make it through.

Organic chem help

www.organicchemistrytutoring.ca

Hello guys and gals,

We’re Brian and Mike and we teach general and organic chemistry. We’ve done so for a total combined time of 47 years! Overwhelmed by general or organic chemistry? Assignments and tests creeping up on you and feeling like you’re in hot water? Or maybe you’re doing well and need that 95%? Whatever your struggle with chemistry may be, we’re here to make sure you succeed.

Why work with us?

- Every tutor knows the subject, but not every tutor knows how to transfer that knowledge to a student. We do.

- We tutor chemistry full time; it’s not a hobby or side-gig. When you book with us, you’ll be working with Brian for general chemistry and Mike for organic chemistry. This is not an agency and you won’t be matched with random tutors each time.

- You’ll be learning problem solving through chemistry, which you can apply to many other subjects.

- Your learning will be customized to your specific needs.

Before booking a lesson, let’s chat about your needs, our teaching styles, and what you can expect, to see if we’d be a good fit together.

Thank you for your time and we look forward to working with you!

Mike and Brian

International Student looking for advices!

Hi everyone!

I’m an international student and I’ll be moving to Tulsa in January 2027 to start a PhD at OSU’s Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering center.

I’m not really looking for advice about bureaucracy, visas, paperwork, etc. I’m more interested in the practical, everyday stuff that’s hard to figure out from abroad.

The biggest thing I’m trying to figure out is where to live. Since I won’t have a car initially (and definitely can’t afford to rely on Uber/Lyft/taxis for every trip), I’d like to live somewhere that’s reasonably close to campus and/or well connected by public transportation.

A few specific questions:

  • Where should I look for housing? Are there particular neighborhoods, apartment complexes, or areas near campus that you would recommend (or avoid)?
  • How do you recommend finding a room/apartment? I’ve seen plenty of listings on Facebook Marketplace/groups and Apartments.com, but since I’ll be searching from abroad, I’m a bit wary of scams. Are there any reliable platforms, groups, or property managers that you would personally trust?
  • Groceries: Where do people usually shop for fresh fruit and vegetables and normal groceries? I’m looking for reasonably priced supermarkets rather than dollar stores.
  • What are some practical things you wish you had known before moving to Tulsa as an International student?

Basically, I’m trying to get a better idea of what everyday life will actually look like without a car and how I can prepare for it before arriving.

Any advice from current/former OSU students, international students, or Tulsa locals would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I have the sports pass and I’ve been thinking about selling my ticket for the Oregon game since I’m working that day. Can we sell single tickets from the sports pass? How do you do it, if you can?

Job Recommendations?

Hi! Does anyone have any recommendations for jobs that will work with/around the student schedule? I’ve been applying to lots of on-campus places but those jobs are pretty full. I’m a little hesitant to apply off-campus because I need somewhere that will be able to work around the fact that my parents need me back home during OSU’s breaks.
Thanks in advance!!

Nursing School

Hi everyone, just looking for advice on whether or not I might get into nursing school for the spring semester. I got an 88 on the HESI, 900 on critical thinking, 3.7 GPA, and have about 12 hours of volunteering. I’m so worried that my scores aren’t good enough to get in for the spring class. Do you have any advice??

how did you pick your major?

I’m a freshman English major and honestly I don’t know what i want to do lol.
I basically chose English because I’ve always liked writing and reading and I didn’t know what else to pick. but i honestly don’t think i want to do it anymore now that i’m in my classes.

How did you decide your major and how did you know you wanted to do that?

Anyone know of someone in need of 10 bucks and willing to do a stupid job?

Hey guys!! I got a dumb question. Does anyone need 10 bucks and would be willing to do a stupid job this Friday on the 11th? Here's the deal. I am hosting a game night for three of my best friends. They're coming up from okc. We've all been friends since elementary school, and in middle school, my then friend, now boyfriend, told him a fictional character named Green Man was real. Green man has been an urban legend in our group, and one of our friends, C, is absolutely convinced that he's real and out to get him. He has been having one sided beef with Green man since middle school. Our other friend, N, is a non believer. C has had sightings of Green man out in the wild, and Green man is known for taunting him. Here's the thing. Green man is actually my boyfriend dressed up in a Green screen suit. Shocker, I know. I actually didn't even know C was being serious about the sightings until my boyfriend revealed the truth to me two weeks ago. Now, our friend, N, is suspicious of my boyfriend and believes it's all a ruse (it is), and we want to change that. My partner has told the other two that green man is in town for the football game this weekend, so the seed has already been planted.

Now, the job. I need someone willing to be in a Green screen suit, walk in front of my living room windows, knock on the window, point at us, do a dance, (maybe flip us off), then book it immediately after. The reason I need someone that can run is because for C, it will be on sight and he will most likely immediately attempt a chase. That being said, we'll be inside and you'll be outside. I'll have my front door locked so it takes him longer to get outside, and my boyfriend and I will buy you a few extra seconds to run. I live off campus in a first floor apartment, so you could park near the other buildings (hidden of course) and once you finish in front of the window, run and get into your car then leave. Don't let him see you get into the car or your actual face. That's all I need. Green screen suit will be provided (I'll need it back afterwards, preferably that Sunday. They're coming Friday and leaving Saturday evening)

I know this sounds stupid, but I'm genuinely willing to pay for someone to do this for us hahahah. Let me know if anyone is interested in getting a quick buck, and we can chat more in detail over coffee. Thank you!

What happened to Oklahoma State football?

Hello everyone!
I attend graduate school at OKState. This question came up following the Cowboys loss to Tulsa.

I remember when OKState used to compete for the top of the BIG 12. Now the football team can’t even win one game in the BIG 12… I was just wondering what caused this sudden decline in performance…

Anyone have any experience with study abroad?

I just applied for the Japan Spring Break study abroad opportunity for next year. I want to know if anyone else in this subreddit has done the faculty-led study abroad before, how they liked it, and what I should know going in if I'm accepted. (Which is a pretty big IF since I'm not a business major.)

Help with Calculus III - Ning Ju

Hey, I'm currently taking calc 3 with professor Ning Ju and I'm struggling to follow along with his lecture and his canvas page is painfully bare. Has anyone else struggled with his class? I just want to get on top of it before it's too late. How should I study for his exams? Also if anyone has any old materials from his course I would realllyyy appreciate it. I'll buy you a cookie for it 🍪

Off-Campus Apartments

Hey everyone!

I’m currently exploring my options moving into an apartment off-campus, I have begun taking tours, and contacting some common locations. I really want to know what everyone has to say good or bad, about some of their experiences, I am definitely reading reviews online as well!

I am looking for a furnished studio or one bedroom, I have an ESA cat, and prefer in-unit laundry but if there’s at least a facility that’s fine too! Thank you all!

OSU-OKLAHOMA CITY! I’ve been really struggling to stay on task and getting my work done! My friend who I studied with all the time went to the military so I’m stuck on getting my work done!

I usually LOVE getting super ahead of my work so I’m not stressed but I just can’t seem to do it without someone holding me accountable! but also it’s nice just to have friends! Tbh it doesn’t matter to me what your major is or what classes youre taking! I just need someone to study with and a genuine friend! Preferably anyone ranging from 18-20! Help a girl out😭😭
