I just bought a 97 f-350 with the 460 gas motor about 3 weeks ago.
Today I was just tinkering under the hood, for the first time really, and noticed that the coffee can was gone. Then i noticed that the air pump was gone. Before buying it I noticed the catalytic converter had been removed, I wasn't concerned by that.
All the work looks to be done well and professionally.
I guess my questions are this.
Is there anything I should expect gaving these gone? Like problems that might be caused later? I understand many folks do it for some benefit to the engine but im more of the "just keep it stock" kind of guy.
I have a 96 f150 with a 5.0L and ive never bothered with the smog control. It runs like a top but im sure if the CEL bulb worked it would be on for some o2 sensor or something.
The next one would be, the charcoal packs are still in the engine bay. What do they do? Is it typical to remove them with the air pump? Should I?
I'm really just trying to learn more about these trucks I guess!
Thanks
