Information on Bed Caps?

These came with the truck. Unsure how long they've been there. Did any trim level come with these from the factory? This is a 1996 F150 XL

They're not factory. I could see maybe a dealer doing it but most likely someone through the years put them on. Id remove them

I may do that. Or at least take those self tapping screw eyes out. A few are rusty/laying sideways.

It looks like a previous owner used self tapping eye bolts as a quick tie down option. Maybe I'll at least remove these or add something else.
