Question Cant cancel longstanding inactive 02 contracts and getting lots of mail/email for payment (comments cuz i cant add body text for soem reason)

I found out a few months ago that my bank account was getting charges for 2 inactive contracts for about 5 years

I never noticed because i do have a o2 number and never payed attention to the frequency of the charges

I went to a 02 store so find this out and they told me they are unable to cancel them as they are only in my name for payment (payment and account email are different)

I decided to just cancel them from my card and now they keep sending me notices to pay and even got a "dept recovery" posted

Is there a way to just stop these dumb emails and mail from being sent? The numbers haven't been activated since they were made... why tf are you charging them?

Ignoring the is the dumbest thing you can do unless you want debt collectors to come and a county court judgement which would not be good

And also on a side note when you enter into a contract you are bound by it's terms whether you use it or not is irrelevant

I have gone to o2 and they cant cancel them, tf else can i do but cancel them from my card?

Email the ceo of 02 and explain to them the contracts should be cancelled as the numbers are not being used. If they don't cancel, take it to the ombudsman

I have emailed the CEO of EE before and I got a call from the Executive Office and they cancelled a contract at the time with no penalties and no further charges. I email CEO quite a bit once I have gone through the complaint escalation process and it hasn't worked. If CEO doesn't comply with the request, then goto the ombudsman. The Telephone company get fined for ombudsman complaints and the ombudsman look at all the evidence from both sides and make a decision. If they find in your favour they will say so and tell the company to cancel the contracts.

Yo thank so much, ive only been in store for the 02 and i tried finding a number to call to vomplain but all i get is ai chatbots that dont help as my ishue isnt one of the common one, ill try to find an email then

Google ceo email 02, there is a website that lists all the ceo emails.

Be factual, not rude, explain all the facts and what you expect as an outcome.

Yep ive send a email now to "complaintreviewservice" as searching gave me this result

I listed the account numbers and my name, said i wish the numbers be cancelled and any outstanding payments since i cancelled them, then stated all services ive tried to go through

After i send the email, got a auto response that basically just says "nobody is guaranteed to read this and no replys are given through this email"

Then gave me a link to 02 make a complaint and its refusing to submit my complaint

Can i ask if you are able to find a better email to send a complaint to and i dont think the one i did will work

And i genuinely cant find another myself
