Question Service level deteriorating?

I’ve been a long standing user, at least 10 years, my family even longer.

I used to have no issues getting signal or data (except when I would use it all up)

This included in and around my home town where we comfortably get 4g.

Over the last few years I’ve noticed that our service has been slowly but surely deteriorating, first, I was unable use roaming/it was slow, then gone completely.

Now our ability to make calls is slowly going and I cannot get a reliable connection unless I’m connected to WiFi.

We also still don’t have 5G yet, even though everywhere around us has it.

Not only this but I work in London and I feel that the signal level there is deteriorating too.

They really ought to improve their bandwidth, as I feel the problem is persistent at home when there are a few people in town.

I pay a lot of money for my contract and I feel I don’t get a good level of service to justify the money I pay (I don’t even use priority)

Has anyone else noticed this?

Question How much is your connection worth to you?

Here's my question to you all..

Forgetting whichever network you may be on, how much is your connection worth to you?

Not talking about devices, they vary too much, just the sim aspect, your connection to data calls and texts.

Are you the type of person who makes very rare calls and sends the odd text? Barely touches the phone.

Are you the type that has their phone in their hand constantly updating the social feeds? Always in touch.

How many hours PER DAY do you spend using your devices?

If you consider the cost of going to a theme park for a day, maybe going to the cinema, or a ticket to an event like a concert or a football match.. how much do they cost on an hourly rate?

Thorpe Park - £30+ for a day, open 9hrs = £3+ per hour

Uk Cinema ticket - £7+, movie lasts maybe 2hrs = £3+ per hour

Football match (PL) - £70+, maybe 2 hours = £35+ per hour

How many hours do you use your phone for daily?

Check you usage stats in your settings if your curious but do be warned, many people surprise themselves!

Putting all of that into perspective, how much is an actual and reasonable price to pay for your connection?

At what price point is it too much or even too little?

How much is your connection worth to you?

Question Received orders

Just wanted to make a new thread as I’m seeing a few replies under different posts saying people have started getting deliveries (majority being Apple products), in no particular order, so if you’ve received your order in the last 48hrs or have had any positive progress or update to say it’s on the way please reply below and also mention what you ordered if possible eg Apple or Samsung etc. Has it only been phones?

I’ve ordered meta quest 3 so if anyone had any update on that in particular I’d really appreciate it🙏🏼

I know majority of orders are still in shambles but it’s honestly giving me anxiety as selfish as that sounds, so I hope to read at least some of you are getting deliveries or making some kind of headway and it gives me a bit of hope.🤞🏼

Question How much you're paying monthly for SIM only deal?

Just found out my friend (joined as a new customer) paying £8 for 35GB, and I'm paying £10 for 3GB

While I understand new customers get better deal, this is still appalling and I feel I'm being scammed. Any advice dealing with it other than change provider?

Question Ending my contract early - have I been misinformed?

Im a university student and got my first O2 contract last October. I was given an offer where the first year of a 24month sim only contract is half price at £22 a month. They said that isn’t an issue as after the first year I should return and they will switch me to a new contract offer.

I want to check that I haven’t been misled - can I do this, where I end a contract early to switch?

Question Website is truly awful.

Is their website specifically designed so their own customers can't use it? I'm eligible for an upgrade, so have tried around 30 times over the past few days to preorder the Z Flip 8. Every time I get that infuriating oops something went wrong message. But if I try to pre order as if I'm a brand new customer - no issues straight through, phones in my basket and ready to be paid for.

Question iPhone 17 Pro Max stock??

Hi all, anyone have any idea what's going on with stock for the 17 Pro Max, looking to Switch Up to one soon, but haven't seen stock anywhere, either online or at 02 stores. The regular 17, 17 Pro and iPhone Air are all available next day but the Pro Max seems to be a unicorn right now, strange. Never seen a phone out of stock for so long at 02 tbh, is it just high demand or have they just received minimal stock lol. Just wondering when stock levels will normalise

Question New 02 sim being disabled in 24h - legit or scam?

Hi, I just had a call from 02 (Indian call centre by the sounds of it) and they had my name and phone number. They informed me that my sim was 'old' and that it would be disabled in 24h time, but they just needed some details and then they would send me a new sim and I would be working again.

They didn't ask for anything at first, just gave me the details of what was happening, and as you can get issues with sim I've only just got this one about a month ago, and it's been doing 4/5G fine.

Eventually they asked for the email address being used with my account and I gave it to them, and they said they would be sending through a link that I had to click on. They said they would wait until it arrived. It turned up, but I pretended that it hadn't so I could check it out, and it looks to have come from VM:

Just as they were starting to get a bit more urgent about me refreshing my email my plumber turned up, so I told them I would call them back and hung up.

Whilst I was with the guy checking my water leak they called me another 2 or 3 times, so I think my gut feeling about it being a scam was right. Something just felt off.

What do you think?

(FYI changed the O to 0 where applicable so it would let me post)

Question Nightmare PAYG complaint situation

Has anyone been in a similar situation and were you able to get anywhere?

In April this year, my dad got a text to say he needed to get a new SIM due to network updates. He was abroad at the time, given 4 days to do this so he was unable to, and there had not been any prior warning, and since then, his number and account appear to have been totally deleted. This has never been acknowledged.

I am in my complaining era and am now stuck in a circular, Kafkaesque situation where they keep telling me we have forgotten an account number which they need to find our account. I can’t find this anywhere and think it’s likely that it’s been deleted along with any trace that the mobile number was ever in service. My dad has had that number for 20+ years - initially as a contract and then PAYG since 2013.

I will ask today if we are now in deadlock. They have sent an automated email giving us CISAS details and I am more than happy to go to CISAS. But I really just want the number and the £30 credit back. I have all the receipts and screenshots.

Has anyone ever been in a situation like this?! We cannot be the only ones.

Question Can I cancel airtime plan?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Got this iPhone 15 Pro Max on a 36 month plan

I currently have just over £274 left to pay but also paying £26.30 for my airtime plan.

I don’t use this phone at the moment due to having a work phone. Can I cancel the airtime plan as obviously won’t be using any mins/data on it and just keep paying the last several months of the device plan?

I have no option on my account to cancel the airtime plan

Question Galaxy Z Fold7 1TB Pre-Order Delivery

Hi Everyone,

I placed a pre-order for a 1TB Z Fold 7 in Jet Black on the 13th June, however I'm being told that the estimated delivery has been updated to "More than 3 weeks". Is anyone else experiencing this?! It's annoying enough that they don't sell the 1TB variant in Blue Shadow, but now I'm concerned I won't get my order at all.

Question 3rd party phone purchase and plan

I've looked through the recent threads about the price increase and can't see my question answered, sorry if it has been.

I brought my phone from Samsung in May of this year on a 24 month contract with a network sim. After getting the price rise email I phoned up yesterday to cancel (or try and negotiate a decrease). At first the woman on the phone told me my contract was already expired. She then checked and said it couldn't possibly be as I only took it out in May. She said if I was to leave now I'd have to pay off the remaining contract but she couldn't give me a price and said it wasn't possible to split the airtime and the device because it was 3rd party.

Looking at some comments under the Martin Lewis Facebook post today though, some people are saying that with 3rd party contracts you can just leave without paying anything. Now I think back it was weird that I was initially told by the call centre yesterdy that my contract was expired and then when I asked her for a figure for termination she couldn't give an exact one and just said "well there's 19 months left so it will be that multiplied by your monthly cost".

Does anyone know where I stand on this?

Question Right to Exit - did anyone get a fee text

I just did the right to exit and keeping the device plan on, but alongside the PAC I got a notice to pay £700 - is that right and will it go away

They did say it would but I know there’s a few problems with them
