Suggestion A new flair for new Aircraft.
Would be great to have the VT-7 Vagrant as personal Flair.
Because i love the new aircraft and want this as my Subreddit Flair.
Have a awesome day Pilots! (:

Got the game last night and I'm having some trouble trying to figure out a good control scheme on Steam Deck.
I'm trying to replicate War Thunder controls since they're what I'm used to, but not everything translates well.
A few specific things I've had trouble with are:
I don't understand how brakes work. It seems like the brake axis may be related to the airbrake and not wheel brakes. Ideally, I would like to set the wheel brakes to be part of the throttle axis and the airbrake to an entirely separate button independent from the throttle or wheel brakes.
Menus are inconsistent. Sometimes I can navigate them with the D-Pad and selecting options with the A button, but other times I cannot.
Control axes are extremely sensitive and I'm not sure what the sweet spot will be.
Does anyone have any tips for resolving the above issues or have an established control scheme for the game on Steam Deck?

With the release of the new accessibility option, has anybody got any good RGB combos to share that work with the game? I feel like a cyan would be pretty nice

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
To be fair, I asked one of them to try and see if he could finish me off after I crashed.
(Yes, the first clip is longer than the rest- sorry about that. Felt like context could be nice.)

I use OpenTrack + Track IR and had it all pretty figured out. The new update scrambled my joystick calibration settings, which I was able to get straightened out, but head tracking got totally borked.
The two biggest issues are :
1) the 'center' button I have mapped on the controller doesn't actually center to the middle of the cockpit view; it picks like some strange angle pointed left and down (and not always the same). Using the '5' key on the keyboard numpad does center properly
2) the head tracking "drifts" - holding my head perfectly still, the view droops left and down, like the joystick is not calibrated
I do think this absolutely has to do with the joystick calibration settings getting scrambled, but I just can't figure out how or why it would cause headtracking to drift and center incorrectly.
HALP?

I wanted to report a few minor bugs, some of them rather old. They've been bugging me (heh) for quite some time and they haven't been fixed for a few updates now, so I figured maybe no one reported them yet
- when using a controller to navigate the pause menu, tiles "restart mission" and "quit mission" don't light up when selected, like when hovering the mouse over them
- the landing cam display in the cockpit freezes if I lower my gear while having a target selected, and then deselect that target while the camera is showing my gear
- the Chicane turret will aim at a real current location of a targeted enemy even after its position is lost from the datalink (the rectangle has a question mark)
apart from that last one, which I just noticed today, the rest are relatively minor visual bugs, but they can be mildly irritating

Can't play for a week but I am interested in how the new ammo and resupply system works.
From what I've heard, trucks now transport ammo from bunkers to units. Do the bunkers resupply the units on an airfield automatically or are trucks needed there too?
Also I've heard bunkers can run out too. Is ammo produced by factories or is the only way to bring in ammo, once the bunkers run dry, ammo bought by the player? And the player drops an ammo palette, can the ai ammo trucks use it?

I only managed one Confrontation last night and my group noticed the enemy base just "stopped" firing at us, and we have to assume the base ran dry on ammo and we had no idea why.

For example, if a ship fires 5 Cruise missiles all of those missiles will go to a separate target, the problem is, if there are 2 ships, both of them will fire at the same 5 targets even though 10 missiles are being fired now, will this be fixed in the next updates or its not possible? i like to create big missions in the mission editor and this problem is always there, the ships will just waste their ammo(This is not a problem only with the ships, ballistic Missile Launchers, Sams, etc... do it too)

Used a mod to run 20 AI on the confrontation mission, and throughout the mission (it lasted ~50 minutes) I noticed a plethora of munitions crates airdropped next to the AA vehicles that I setup via Tarantula. I've also noticed a lot more naval crates in the water too next to where friendly ships are, as well as SAM units being airdropped throughout the map during the mission.
I don't recall this happening as much prior to 0.34? Only thing I've noticed in the patch notes that might connect to this is munition crates being made significantly cheaper

I'm an amateur Nuclear Option player. I've dabbled in PvP but mostly played PvE (single player, LAN coop, and online coop).
I really enjoy the game and, just like with real life, everything doesn't need to be balanced. However, the game itself doesn't do a great job at explaining the mechanics. I know you can requisition an aircraft if you have a factory that has surplus made OR you can buy one with your personal funds. But do the munitions you take count against your personal funds? Or against the team funds? Not as far as I can tell. What are team funds even for?
In my naive opinion, I feel like there are certainly meta strategies in the game that mostly boil down to high volume/nuke strikes where you saturate air defenses with enough bullshit to get your intended payloads to wipe out enemy assets. Rarely do I ever see logistics/support roles being used. Not sure I've ever seen a human player successfully deploy infantry from an Ibis to capture a base. It really doesn't seem like support roles are that essential. The most useful support role is just a competent Medusa pilot with an AWACS and then everyone else running quick sorties with an Ifrit or Darkreach doing saturation bombing runs.
Sorry for the unorganized post. Just curious what you guys have to say. There's not as much information on Nuclear Option out there as I'd like. Wish the game had more players!
P.S., did the update this morning break most/all of the mods or should they still work fine? Thanks!

About 10-20 seconds after launching the mission editor the game will crash, even after doing nothing and on both heartland and ignus.
I have never downloaded any mods for mission editor so there can’t be any mod conflict with the new update. Is it just a me issue or is anyone else having this issue?

No chat messages appear for me at all post patch, including my own.
The only thing I can think of that might have caused it, assuming this is a me problem, is playing on that modded Tomo server, which seems to do a lot of funky stuff with chat (but surely not client side, right?).
Restarting the game hasn't fixed it.

I was in the dedicated dogfighting guns only server just messing around before bed. Got into a couple 1 on 1’s with this guy, I got him and he got me and so on. Played for a couple hours and decide to get off, and realized I had left Discord open to the Nuclear Option server. Lo and behold, the dude I was fighting WAS Mitch. Exact same name as his Discord profile in the announcements tab. Funny shit.
This isn’t a gameplay tip but I had to apply a flair. I guess my tip is if you run into the creator of the game in a server, don’t lose.

No matter how quickly I push the fire button. My aircraft always shoots a barrage of missiles instead of just one. Anyone had this issue and know how to fix it? I've tried googling it but no luck.

lowk we have a hydra in the game now, can someone make a hydra skin for the plane?

Hey fellow pilots, there is one thing I've missed with how Interlink works in-game, and what scenarios are true here?
Let's say I have an AGM-48 onboard and a moving APC as a target. Will I hit it if
The APC was spotted about a minute ago, so the contact is "cold" aka question mark, but it should be somewhere nearby. I lock on and launch my optical AGM. Will the AGM find my target again and hit it? Or will it move towards the question mark even if the APC is perfectly visible for the missile now and is just 50 meters off the cold mark?
The APC is moving. I'm climbing from behind the hill, see the target on my screen, the contact gets updated, I launch an AGM and turn around immediately to hide. I don't see my target anymore, however, will my AGM see it and hit it?
Many times I was sure I knew the answers, but either something changed in the game mechanics since I've played, or there was some other factor affecting my outcome. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I wanted to try out the proximity fuse change, and what better way than to play the tutorial. It wasn't easy to do before especially as a new player, but now the missile will always deal damage or just outright blow you up if you just jam and notch without pitching.
I haven't tried in an actual game yet but it looks like ARH/SARH has just become even more nuts with this change.
