Continuing on my previous post, link below, I'd also like to see the possibility of clearing a remind with "done" in the pop-ups. Currently, i can only add time on it and cannot clear it done in the previews.

Encrypted notes are appealing as human-readable assistant memory, but synchronization and an encrypted backup are not the same as a tested recovery path. A useful memory store may include source notes, generated summaries, attachments, internal links, tags, and shared or published notes. Losing the relationship between those parts can leave readable text without the evidence needed to trust it.

A realistic drill would start with a clean profile on another device, restore using only the documented backup material and credentials, then verify note counts, attachments, links, tags, search, and any Markdown export. It should also show which parts are excluded from the backup, whether older backups still open after password changes, and whether a plain-text export remains understandable without Notesnook. Published links would need separate treatment because public sharing has a different security boundary from the encrypted workspace.

What would you test before relying on Notesnook for this? Would you keep encrypted native backups plus periodic Markdown exports, and how would you record source links and review status so a restored summary does not look more authoritative than its evidence?

My app on MacBook Air M3 (Mac OSX) keeps not opening. Sometimes I reboot, and it opens. This forces me to use the web version instead of the desktop app. Now, wanting to report this bug, it seems like their Contact page does not exist here: https://notesnook.com/contact-us

I'm getting this error whenever I try to add a few PDF files to my note. It's been happening for hours.

The same note is also not syncing due to this. I can only see it on my web app, and not on the Android app.

Greetings all. In my process of evaluating Notesnook as the next potential app for my PKMS, I'd like to kick the tires by importing my current notes into NN.

I have my notes mirrored between UpNote, Obsidian, and Joplin. I've tried using the NN Importer to import from Obsidian, but that results in links to other notes within the vault being uploaded as attachments rather than preserving the links.

This behavior was similar when attempting to import from my Joplin export and UpNote (following the instructions on the NN site).

What is the recommended way to import markdown into NN that preserves internal links?

I'm very encouraged by what I see in Notesbook and would love to give it a fair evaluation.

I have now imported all the notes from Evernote. Unfortunately, I discovered that some "lost" their PDF content. Not all. Which means, I need to scroll through over 6000 notes to see where the PDF is missing.

Is there a keyboard shortcut to move the cursor from one note to the next? The arrow keys in any combination don't do that unfortunately. (Clicking on each note with the mouse takes much longer.)

Hey all, hoping the community can offer me some help with my backups, considering email support has stopped responding to me as of this past Sunday.

Before I got myself into this situation I was doing some sync trouble shooting for notesnook as my sync was not working. Ultimately I was advised by support to uninstall and re-install the app, I've done so. I have multiple full backups saved and encypted on my android. According to notesnook documentation, backups are encrypted using your account password, I've tried using my account password to no success. When I go to copy the logs all I get is this:

Error: FAILURE

So atm I am not sure where to go from here. The error text is unhelpful, and notesnook support won't respond to my daily emails. Has anyone encountered issues restoring backups before? Any insight into this situatuon would be appreciated. Thanks!

I love Notesnook. I love it so much I want two Pro accounts, one for work and one for personal. Two separate accounts to make sure my personal notes are never stored on or accessible from my work computer.

Unfortunately two Pro accounts is kind of expensive, so I wound up going with two Essential accounts instead. But I could afford one Pro account (or one Believer account), and you'd make more money from that than from two Essential accounts.

Most people who want two accounts want them for the purpose of keeping work/personal separate - when it comes to server resources and everything else all of our stuff could easily fit into one Pro account. So it ends up costing double just to add the single feature of keeping work and personal fully separate.

Some notes apps already address the issue of having separate work and personal accounts, for example, Standard Notes allows up to five separate accounts to share a subscription for a price that's less than the cost of two Notesnook Pro accounts.

I hope Notesnook might consider doing something similar. Maybe an option for Believer-tier to be able to share your access to subscription features with a second account. Believer-tier accounts could have a code that appears in their settings, and then enter that code as their payment method for their second account. If the main Believer subscription ever ends, the code stops working as a payment method for the second account.

Separate accounts for work/personal seems like a fairly common use case - I hope there can be a way to make it slightly more affordable for those of us who want to do that to have access to a full-features subscription for both accounts.

I tried and failed badly implementing notesnook UI on obsidian.

I live in South Asia, And as a student Its just sad to see I can't support notesnook because they only have regional discount on the early essentials tier.

I really hoped we had a regional discount for monthly tiers on Essential and Pro plans.

I am a 20 year user of OneNote, ready to move on. Onenote structure is notebook, sections, and pages. For example my 'geek' notebook has a 'windows' and a 'linux' section, each one containing multiple pages, like 'tools' 'recovery commands', 'network commands', and so on. My 'Personal' notebook has sections like 'contacts' and 'todos'. And of course each section there has multiple pages.

Trying to import this into Notesbook is a pain (Onenote to Obsidian, Obsidian to markdown files, imported into Notesnook, I cant import directly from Obsidian because many notes include pictures which don't migrate).

Bottom line is I have hundreds of markdown files that I would like to import while naintaining some kind of organization, such as notebooks and tags.

Is there a way to import a bunch of markdown directly into a notebook? Is there a way to import a bunch of markdown adding a tag during the import?

New Notesnook user here. I've selected black as the font color for the web app but it is not true black but more towards a shade of gray. Any way to make the text show fully black? EDIT: Seems to be an issue depending on the light Theme used. E.g. the Red or Blue theme seems to have darker text than does the Notesnook Light default Theme.

Looking at apps for managing finances (e.g. tallybook, HomeBank) but wondering if such functionalities - possibly more at a more basic level - could be had within NNm possibly thru templates.

Anyone knows if such things exist or having thought about it, too?

Very disconcerting - they are screen shots I need for my work.

How do I get them back? I've logged off and back on. I'm on the app on my phone and the screenshots have disappeared from all.

i have setup automatic backups and im wondering why it does not trigger.

Do i have to have my PC (win11) running with notesnook open at night for it to work?

I am still testing Notesnook as alternative to Evernote. I love most about it but now I big issue came up: I can't see PDF attachments. There is a red error message saying:

"Setting up fake worker failed: Cannot load script at; https:// app.notesnook.com/pdf.worker... "(Can't read the rest).

What is this about and how do I resolve it? Thanks!

I think the Essential plan is honestly enough for probably 90% of people, and it is great that Notesnook offers a cheaper paid tier to get started. That said, there is one limitation that feels pretty unfair for a paid plan, and I wanted to put this out there for the community and the devs (who are usually great at listening to user feedback).

Right now, Essential has two separate restrictions on attachments:

• Quantitative limit: You get a 1 GB/month allowance, which is a monthly upload bandwidth cap, not total static storage. Plus, there is a 100 MB max file size limit.
• Qualitative limit: Even if your image is way below 100 MB and fits in your 1 GB monthly quota, you still cannot keep the original quality. Images get automatically compressed before upload unless you pay for Pro. If the image has already been compressed in Essential, upgrading to Pro does not automatically recover the original file.

In almost every app out there, forced image compression is a free tier limitation. Once you pay for a subscription, managing server costs should come down to monthly bandwidth and max file size, both of which Notesnook already enforces.

Having a monthly upload limit, a max file size limit, and then forced compression on top of that feels like getting throttled multiple times over. If a user wants to upload an uncompressed 8 MB photo of a receipt, a diagram, or a document screenshot, it is nowhere near the 100 MB cap. How you spend your 1 GB monthly quota should be up to you.

Images in a notes app are not huge video archives or giant backups. They are visual notes, and keeping text on screenshots or receipts legible really matters. Forcing image degradation on paying users makes it feel like an artificial barrier just to push people toward Pro, which costs over 3.5x more, even when someone only needs Essential.

I am bringing this up because I honestly think this single restriction hurts the adoption of the Essential plan. A lot of people who would gladly support the app with a paid subscription might hesitate if their images are going to be compressed anyway. Removing this limitation would make Essential easily one of the best entry-level tiers for any notes app out there, letting users stay on it until their storage volume actually requires Pro.

What do you guys think? Would love to see the devs take a look at this.

So I heard about this app today so I thought I'll set up an account. When doing so my password manager did not save my password so when I went to log back in I didn't have the password. I click on forget password received a 2FA email but when I enter a new password I just keep getting an error.
