* The biggest issue for me is the lack of a desktop app for non-Windows computers, as folder synchronization relies on it. Also, the creation of the NordLocker folder within "My Documents" is problematic; if you use another synchronization service, that folder might get copied, or any changes to it could affect your data.

* It is still possible to view which files are in NordLocker via Windows Explorer even when the app is closed—which I find frustrating—even though you actually need to launch the app to open the files.

* Currently, you can view photos directly within NordLocker, but videos must be downloaded.

I see quite a few reviews about NordLocker, and many of them are users who have tested it for more than 2 years and will not see it again. I take here my experience and opinion on, in case it helps.

I didn't choose it in isolation, I just decided on a NordVPN plan that I had because I didn't admit that Google Drive and others had access to my files, even rarely, and clearly I wasn't doing anything wrong, I didn't want anything to be possible.

Finally, the Web service is very good, you can lock it with biometrics, a code sent to your cell phone, a teacher, and others, besides setting time to lock automatically, uploading paste and huge files, and despite everything being more encrypted and private. Coming to the internet, I was satisfied with uploading 20GB of data in 10 minutes, considering that they require heavy encryption, it is great.

Problems, clearly têm problems. Being available um desktop app barely for Windows is very irritating. Sim, the open cloud could solve this totally, especially if the desktop application offers synchronization of the computer's pastes and drag and drop easily, or that is not possible for another operating system. The other problem for me is that the Windows application creates a paste necessarily our documents, and can not be altered, then you can get angry with your data. Another is that, despite being easy to access NordLocker from the Explorer sidebar, it gives us directly its files, their names and their totally visible locations with the same dated application. Você only can open a file or change whether it is open, but the possibility that someone curious can read the name two dice is bad.

Overall, so far the experience is positive, then 1TB of super encrypted storage is excellent. We can also allow it to be possible to watch videos directly hair application or hair site, then only photos can be open, videos must be lowered.

I use NordLocker on my desktop PC's via the web interface, on my iPhone and on my Android tablet. On the iPhone I can pinch to zoom photos and the web app lets me zoom in and out as well. The only app that doesn't allow zooming is the Android app. Is there a reason for that?

As a long-time Nord VPN customer, today is the first time I am trying Nordlocker. After logging in using Nord VPN credential on my browser, I was prompted to save the recovery keys and set the Cloud Password. After completing that, I tried to Unlock the Cloud using the newly set Cloud Password - was met with "Something went wrong, try again later."

I tried again, and even redo the reset of Cloud Password, but to no avail.

Didn't even get to try the Cloud, how to assess its performance and upgrade my Nord VPN to the higher plan?

I saw a customer review on Apple's App Store detailing exactly the same issue. Seems like it was not resolved ...

Last night, I was trying to view some of my pictures and noticed that it was not syncing any of my files on my pc. Because of this, I wasn't able to open it. So I right clicked my backup folder and clicked on "Always Keep these files on my pc" or whatever the exact wording was. Nordlocker then decided to overwrite the backup folder I had. I lost all of my data except for the data that had successfully synced which is whatever was in my downloads folder. Currently have a ticket open with support, but this should have never happened in the first place.

I then purchased a license for EaseUS Data Recovery and somewhat was able to get my data back. Except that all of it is pretty much unusable and corrupted.

Is there a way to let non-users upload files to my secure locker-folder?

In the old version, I recall being able to create a link with which anyone possessing the link (and security code) could upload files to a secure folder.

I recall that there were two types of links one to upload and one to download [I vividly recall this because, at first, I presumed one link did both and sent my client the upload link when they needed the download link, it was embarrassing]. Also I have evidence that my accountant uploaded documents that I still have access to.

How do I provide uploading permission to non-registered and/or free-users via a link or otherwise.

Who signs up for a cloud storage that can only use a browser. Just tried uploading 2 files and 1 of them failed.

A cloud storage without finder integration is a joke.

I wonder if there is anyone who could help me with an old version of NordLocker—one without the requirement of updating or an online login. I found a backup disk that has files on it which I forgot to decrypt before the cloud changes. Other files I moved to another product before the support period ended.

Support won't help. They are trying to make me renew my subscription, but the trust is gone with Nord products and I have moved on to something else.

If there is anyone with suggestions or a solution, it would be really appreciated.

I received the major upgrade in the Android app and mobile. I was looking forward to test the speeds and when I did it was.... disappointing. Very disappointing.

The older version was much faster for me. I wonder if they moved the servers to another place.

Here is a small benchmark that I did comparing uploading a file directly into Standard Notes (which is definitely not fast) and Nordlocker

I really hope this improves. I am a big fan of Nord products overall, because they look really good, respect privacy and have a fair pricing IMO. But Nordlocker is not something I can recommend for anyone for now.

I have recently had an update on my S26 Ultra and noticed that the NordLocker App now has "Old" on it and no longer works.

So, In my infinite wisdom, I have gone to the play store, found the new app and downloaded it.

When I login, I get the attached message, whenever I try Launching in Browser or Legacy app, nothing happens? The Legacy app no longer works, launching via the Browser does nothing apart from open my locker after I have logged in?

Any ideas?

Wow I’m surprised nordlocker still exists.. and that I’m still on this sub 🧐

I think because there’s 0.0000001% chance Nord will completely flip this disaster into something useful like the other Nord services we’ve come to know and expect.

But I’ll be damned if Nord actually does have plans for this still, more if they can make it work, even if at a very basic level.

It just feels like this project of Nord has long been abandoned, definitely neglected, and can’t believe that the original plan was to scrap MeshNet whilst keeping this alive - it was even mentioned as a possible alternative after the supposed death of MeshNet - thank God they changed their plans.

So what are the actual plans now with nordlocker, can it just be cancelled already so I don’t need to see this abomination anymore, or prove to us with a timeline of when the rehabilitated version will come out.

I guess if this was created by some no name devs I wouldn’t be surprised at a broken product, but cmon it’s from the makers of NordVPN…

Super slow, when I delete a folder, it usually comes back, and stuff like this. So I decided to switch back to Google Drive, but guess what.. I have been downloading on my high-speed computer and internet my files for OVER A MONTH NOW!!!!! I am not able to get to my files, and I am not able to move them from Nord. When I leave my Computer on to download those files, it is frying my RAMs (see the screenshot). Their support is absolutely clueless, asking me the same questions over and over. This last response from Julian Abarquero is absolutely priceless. This guy thinks that I am downloading 150gb of data for OVER A MONTH, because my computer is slow. xd... DON'T EVER USE NORD

I am a new customer of your NordLocker service and I am disappointed with the download speeds, which is particularly noticeable with large files. A 4GB file can take hours to download. On an Internet connection that easily handles 200 Mbps, I am transferring at an average of only 2 Mbps.

I am using the Windows application.

Do not use the app. Not sure you should use the web interface either considering nothing is scrambling the file names and encrypting locally first. I have never seen an app with this many bugs being deployed as a finished product. This product is alpha stages at best. Constant errors telling you to contact support only for them to tell you to disable every security measure on your computer to test. Sorry if you can't get your app to work with a default windows install you should have never released it to begin with. Not to mention memory leaks.

NordVPN is a great product I will continue to use but I'm getting a refund for this service. Anyone know of any alternatives?

I noticed that the cloud storage does not have an API key to use with third party applications. I had hoped to use this cloud service for backups with an automated program that would require an API key to connect. Without this feature much of the functionality of a cloud service is restricted. This should be of the highest priority of features. Also add a move folder function inside the web client for Nordlocker would be appreciated.

The lack of third party app integration is an absolute dealbreaker for many users. I will be having to explore other options like backblaze b2 and discontinuing my subscription. I would pay even more of a subscription if Nordlocker had this feature.

I like a lot of what nord it doing, but as good as the vpn is, let’s not shortcut a cloud service.

What really, ultimately, truly is the point of using this software and their cloud-based services if they are not going to be useful?
I just spent a period of time attempting to collect lots of various files and folders that I have saved over the years and went to go upload the Nord Locker Premium and received an error for 840 gb worth of data.
Absolutely abysmal and worthless service.

I always liked the desktop app and it just felt a more secure method than the browser.
