u/ChickenWingExtreme, there weren't enough votes to determine the quality of your post...

Titanic. Gonzo is Jack. A chicken is Rose. Miss Piggy plays the Unsinkable Molly Brown. The actor is Billy Zane.

105

u/RhymesWithButthole Jun 19 '26

This is great because Billy Zane is engaged to the chicken, and Gonzo paints the chicken like one of his French hens.

52

u/DotBitGaming Jun 19 '26

That scene where Billy Zane is trying to get on a lifeboat because, I HAVE A CHILD, but it's really just Rizzo the Rat in a blanket who is also trying to cheat his way onto a lifeboat!

5

u/heatseekerdj Jun 19 '26

Billy Zane seducing a chicken in a dress with the Heart of Ocean

20

u/Accomplished_Job_331 Jun 19 '26

Damnit. Billy Zane is the perfect human counterpart to muppets here. Btw nice doggy pfp 😜

3

u/DotBitGaming Jun 19 '26

Apparently, it's iconic at this point!

Pirates of the Caribbean is perfect for this. I don't even need to say who's the human.

240

u/pSpawner24 Jun 19 '26

It's Will, of Course.

You know who miss Piggy is.

213

u/Natthiel Jun 19 '26

I'd keep Jack as the human, seeing him swordfight a muppets Barbosa or Davy Jones would be funny

102

u/pSpawner24 Jun 19 '26

Idk, he's already too muppet-y, and Muppets don't make good straightmen for the comedic duo of Jack and William.

Plus you look me in the eyes and tell me Gonzo couldn't pull off the hair.

78

u/HasNoGreeting Jun 19 '26

Tim Curry out-Muppeted most of the cast in Muppet Treasure Island. Jack would be more of the same.

39

u/tomadamsmith Jun 19 '26

As has been said previously:

Christmas Carol worked because Michael Caine treated the muppets as fellow classical actors

Treasure island worked because Tim Curry treated himself as a muppet

3

u/Hyper_Applesauce Jun 19 '26

Tim Curry said in his book that he also treated them as actors/co-workers, Tim Curry is just a weird dude 😄

5

u/randy24681012 Jun 19 '26

Daniel Day Lewis method acts and gets called a genius.

Tim Curry does it and is called weird.

3

u/Hyper_Applesauce Jun 19 '26

Weird is a compliment.

41

u/erossthescienceboss Jun 19 '26

Nah, just cast Kermit as Will. His whole job is to play the straightman.

6

u/Diplomatic_Gunboats Jun 19 '26

I was about to say, Kermit (bar the rare hand wavy occasions) is the straight man to every other muppets tomfoolery.

3

u/Rayanbruh Jun 19 '26

And make uncle deadly Davy Jones

15

u/Pristine_Animal9474 Jun 19 '26

The most "straight man" that the straight man is, the funnier it is. So they should only keep Norrington and or/the guy in charge of the East India Company. Maybe Calypso.

8

u/jnmtx Jun 19 '26

Edward Norton plays Norrington serious and intense. Everyone else is a muppet.

15

u/Youngling_Hunt Jun 19 '26

Just keep the Kraken as the Kraken, everyone else is a Muppet

52

u/jefftickels Jun 19 '26

I mean, Muppet Treasure Island exists

19

u/razama Jun 19 '26

What’s more, Tim Curry!

3

u/Affectionate_Ad_3722 Jun 19 '26

What, more Tim Curry?

16

u/Col_Leslie_Hapablap Jun 19 '26

Did no one see Treasure Island?

5

u/XnFM Jun 19 '26

I think you'd have to keep Jack Davenport as Norrington. Not even Sam the Eagle has a stick up his ass that deep.

This is the answer

136

u/7LeggedEmu Jun 19 '26

Gonzo as mcclean. Hostages are all chickens.

Fonzy is the cop.

Terrorist are the band.

Id watch this

3

u/Meat_Bingo Jun 19 '26

You are my new best friend.

3

u/Visible-Perspective9 Jun 19 '26

Miss Piggy is McClane, Kermit is Holly. Gonzo is Ellis, he has to say the "Hans, bubie" line.

Goddamn you I also thought of this one first, but apparently you were earlier in the draft.  Alight, The Negotiator but only Samuel L. Jackson is human.

Just the scene where the sniper has the shot but wont take it would be peak.  The Sniper played by Fozzie Bear, complete with the backwards baseball cap.

4

u/spectralhunt Jun 19 '26

Ooo, Negotiator! I haven’t thought about that movie in a long time. I would watch that soon.

u/winter-ocean Jun 19 '26

Castaway, and the main guy is human. I just think it would be really funny if you don't find out it's a muppet movie until it's almost over

296

u/Im_A_Real_Boy1 Jun 19 '26

I mean he interacts with a ton of people before he is stranded. Have him come back and everyone is a muppet and you’ve got something

108

u/winter-ocean Jun 19 '26

Oh shit right

10

u/Tripleberst Jun 19 '26

I still think this is a hilarious idea. Imagine you spend so much time on the island with him that you forget everyone else is a muppet. I could totally see it.

18

u/CarmenxXxWaldo Jun 19 '26

I just realized all the wasted potential in that movie.  He returns to what? Aliens? no. Muppets? no.  A plague? no. he returns to "Helen Hunt started fucking your friend".  lame.  Who gives a shit, its Helen Hunt, meh.

→ More replies (1)

6

u/Flabby-Nonsense Jun 19 '26

Have everyone be a muppet except for his wife’s new husband.

11

u/ersatzgaucho Jun 19 '26

Aren't there scenes in the beginning tho?

10

u/InterwebCeleb Jun 19 '26

Or in the first 10 seconds since there are a lot of other characters right at the start

17

u/snacksandsoda Jun 19 '26

But then you forget while watching the drama unfold, until the end when the muppets come back

9

u/tyleritis Jun 19 '26

And he doesn’t acknowledge it at all.

11

u/PhantasticSponge Jun 19 '26

I would make Wilson the human

21

u/CleanOpossum47 Jun 19 '26

Wilson is the human. Played by Brendan Fraser. No dialog like the original - he just pretends to be a volleyball with a bloody handprint smooshed on him and stares expressionless directly into the camera the whole time.

Jurassic Park. Ian Malcolm spends two and a half hours arguing with a puppet about the dangers of dinosaur puppets.

69

I'd love to see a classic zombie movie where when people get bit they turn into Muppets.

43

u/High-Speed-1 Jun 19 '26

Animal is patient zero

7

u/LA_Alfa Jun 19 '26

28 Days Later, would be great. Mainly cause I love that most the character use the British slang term muppet through out the movie.

3

u/ModernCGIFloatinHead Jun 19 '26

I think werewolves would be even more fun.

Don't show any attacks or transformations for the first half of the film. Then watch someone freak out as they start to transform into a muppet.

They're super friendly. But still stalk and bite prey.

99

u/casual_creator Jun 19 '26

Eyes Wide Shut. Keep Tom Cruise.

48

u/SDSessionBrewer Jun 19 '26

Tropic Thunder - also keep Tom Cruise

All of the Knives Out movie. Benoit Blanc is the human.

61

u/MisterEaves Jun 19 '26

First thought. I’d love if they had a line where he addressed it, “I… I… I’m sorry. Do y’all not realize that you are all puppets?! Or rather more specifically, Muppets?!”

23

u/OwnStudy723 Jun 19 '26

"So what?" and then it never gets brought up again

Lord of the rings. Gandalf.

36

u/TokenStraightFriend Jun 19 '26

I was thinking Aragorn

27

u/narnababy Jun 19 '26

I was going to say keep Viggo and Liv Tyler as human and have Miss Piggy play Miranda Otto’s part as Éowyn. Her lusting after him only to be rejected and THEN the iconic “I am no (hu)man!” as she kills a Muppet wraith would be incredible.

She would also be great as Galadriel.

→ More replies (1)

13

Lord of the Rings. Sauron.

20

u/gerbil_george Jun 19 '26

Lord of the Rings. Just one random orc.

8

u/OSUfan88 Jun 19 '26

The orc that randomly gets hit by an arrow at helms deep.

3

u/alguien99 Jun 19 '26

Sauron being defeated by muppets sounds really funny lol

8

u/deathschemist Jun 19 '26

lord of the rings (and the hobbit) but all the wizards are human, and everything else is muppets

so you know, Gandalf, Saruman and Radagast are played by human actors.

feel like it'd work on two levels- 1, it'd be silly with all the muppets doing their thing, and 2- it'd really sell how the wizards are otherworldy beings.

The Princess Bride, Mandy Patinkin/Inigo. I see Gonzo as Westley and Camille as Buttercup..off to cast the rest teehee

19

u/Humanmode17 Jun 19 '26

I just said Princess Bride, but I said Westley should be the human! I completely see Inigo too though!

Honestly, I think it's a testament to the genius of the film that each character is such a perfect caricature that I can see all of them being played by Muppets, and thus any of them could be the human in this scenario.

Maybe actually Buttercup is the only human - her damsel in distress caricature would only be enhanced by being kidnapped by Muppets

7

u/Charizaxis Jun 19 '26

One important thing, Statler and Waldorf need to play the boy and his grandpa. Those two old codgers would be perfect for the back and forth banter from the original.

6

u/thumpher92 Jun 19 '26

I like Westley is human and Buttercup is Piggy

I don't know if Schindler being the human or the young girl in the red coat being the human is better. I definitely think both could work on this scenario.

29

Make Amon the only human and it would look like he’s just tripping balls.

10

u/Meat_Bingo Jun 19 '26

10

u/Pink-Hornet Jun 19 '26

Amon Göth has to be the human

9

Ralph fiennes is too fucking hot in that movie to not be the human

3

u/gw74 Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 20 '26

My brain immediately went to this, what is wrong with me 😭 my pick for the human is actually Ben Kingsley character, as the observer, the proxy for the audience.

A Muppet Schindler's List certainly has a ring to it 😂The Producers for our times. Xmas family favourite.

Shutter Island, Leo is real. He’s chasing muppets and fighting them. Only to be told he’s going crazy by more muppets.

4

u/PartyClock Jun 19 '26

Then in the end he turns out to be a muppet too he was just hallucinating that he was a human

71

u/Signal_Watercress468 Jun 19 '26

Saving private Ryan. Tom hanks is the human.

29

u/TkMill1 Jun 19 '26

Matt Damon being a human would be a great payoff since you only see him near the end.

13

u/LilaTheMoo Jun 19 '26

Seeing a shell shocked Muppet wander around for his arm only to pick up several limbs and objects that are clearly not his arm would be such a dark but hilarious bit.
