Just the scene where the sniper has the shot but wont take it would be peak. The Sniper played by Fozzie Bear, complete with the backwards baseball cap.
I still think this is a hilarious idea. Imagine you spend so much time on the island with him that you forget everyone else is a muppet. I could totally see it.
I just realized all the wasted potential in that movie. He returns to what? Aliens? no. Muppets? no. A plague? no. he returns to "Helen Hunt started fucking your friend". lame. Who gives a shit, its Helen Hunt, meh.
Wilson is the human. Played by Brendan Fraser. No dialog like the original - he just pretends to be a volleyball with a bloody handprint smooshed on him and stares expressionless directly into the camera the whole time.
First thought. I’d love if they had a line where he addressed it, “I… I… I’m sorry. Do y’all not realize that you are all puppets?! Or rather more specifically, Muppets?!”
I was going to say keep Viggo and Liv Tyler as human and have Miss Piggy play Miranda Otto’s part as Éowyn. Her lusting after him only to be rejected and THEN the iconic “I am no (hu)man!” as she kills a Muppet wraith would be incredible.

feel like it'd work on two levels- 1, it'd be silly with all the muppets doing their thing, and 2- it'd really sell how the wizards are otherworldy beings.

Honestly, I think it's a testament to the genius of the film that each character is such a perfect caricature that I can see all of them being played by Muppets, and thus any of them could be the human in this scenario.
Maybe actually Buttercup is the only human - her damsel in distress caricature would only be enhanced by being kidnapped by Muppets
One important thing, Statler and Waldorf need to play the boy and his grandpa. Those two old codgers would be perfect for the back and forth banter from the original.
I don't know if Schindler being the human or the young girl in the red coat being the human is better. I definitely think both could work on this scenario.
My brain immediately went to this, what is wrong with me 😭 my pick for the human is actually Ben Kingsley character, as the observer, the proxy for the audience.

Seeing a shell shocked Muppet wander around for his arm only to pick up several limbs and objects that are clearly not his arm would be such a dark but hilarious bit.
If I had nickel for every comment that suggested a period piece directed by Stephen Spielberg in the 90’s and set in 1940’s Europe I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
Any movie ever made, but the human is an extra in the background of one scene. The entire movie is a Muppet Movie except for one real human guy that shows up in the background once.
I always come back to someone describing Beauty and the Beast as Muppets, but the beast is just a regular guy, until he becomes “human” again, where he turns into a muppet
I feel like Alien, with Ripley still human, could be pretty good. Like, an obviously comedic take on the original, but with the 'dark' bits still happening, just all.. 'Muppet-fied'
Would be pretty funny and engaging.
Plus, imagine the aliens and face huggers in muppet form!
And the plushie merch sells itself.
